the staff was wonderful the view off the mountain was nice
the locations it is away from everything and takes a while to get to. but if you are looking for exclusion this is a plus
Food was delicious, but the mountain view was amazing. Hotel decor is modern with clean lines.
Elevator was not working at the time.
Stayed overnight for a wedding. The room and everything was nice. There was breakfast included which was a nice surprise. There were no ACs but it was chilly up there so no need.
The wifi wasn't that good.
Yehuda 809-697-8513 Hotel rim I was really looking forward to staying here. I thought it would be a great place to relax and enjoy nature. It was very difficult and stressful to find this place, when we finally did I thought we could kick back and enjoy, but this is what we found: Cold water in the shower No AC in the rooms, the air outside is supposed to be cold, but when windows are open critters fly in I found a hand size moth in the bathroom, not exaggerating No face towel in the bathroom, bath towels are pretty worn. No internet in the room and slow on the bottom floor The elevator wasn't working No remote to the TV in the room No one answers at the reception when called to ask about any of it. Staff has no clue on any activities in the area, even though their website actually links to some water recreation and other stuff. The service at this place is not on par with the facility, so you are paying a lot to stay in a nice room with a nice view, but don't expect service and you are far from any closest town. The rooms facing the other side have no view and are not as nice. This hotel gets 1 star for the views and one star for the manager who was nice enough to upgrade us to the view side. Had to cancel the second night
Didn't receive the services I paid for.
The food was really good. The staff were friendly and helpful. They would go out of their way to help out.
Wi-fi was awful!! The only time we were able to connect was when we were down stairs at the restaurant. TV frequently shut off because of power failure.
Rim Mountain Hotel is perched near the top of the mountains with an expansive view of the distant cities of La Vega and Santiago and the beautiful varieties of Dominican fauna. The staff was excellent and we were there long enough to spend quality time with a few of them (regards to Lourdes and Roberto) who helped us with our Spanish. Meals were lovely and breakfast was included. We ended up staying a whole day at the lodge instead of traveling down to Santiago - after one week of driving around DR it was a much-needed respite before we took off to drive again.
It is quite an adjustment to travel in a country where road/locale signs are nearly non-existent. We followed directions that we had read on line (and they were accurate), but 40 minutes up a steep and winding grade is a little disconcerting when you have no idea if you are on the right road. We finally stopped at someone's home to ask if indeed the hotel was on the road. Thankfully it was. Wish we had brought earplugs for sleeping. Be prepared to be sung to all night and most of the day by the local gallos (roosters).
The view of the mountains is beautiful, the staff was very attentive and helpful, the beds were very comfortable...I Slept really well! The decor was simple and beautiful. I really appreciated the fresh flowers on the table each day! Oh, and the complimentary breakfast was the same each day but very good, especially the eggs. :) And my son really liked the cheese flan for dessert! We also really appreciated the hot showers as it is somewhat chilly in the morning and evenings in the mountains. We are definitely planning to return in June!!!
I attempted to contact the hotel prior to arrival by phone and facebook, but wasn't able to connect. They apparently had a huge crowd the days preceding our arrival. Each time I called, I got a busy signal. I was given a different number before leaving, which I will use in future communication. Also, I had the stuffed mero (fish) for dinner. It was a tad bit on the salty side for my taste, and the seafood it was stuffed w/ a tad bit "chewy". The fries & veggies were fine. My son had the pasta w/ shrimp. He said it was "ok". We will try the restaurant again next time, but order something different.
I loved the location The food was good The people that worked there were nice
Too much money for the location No activities Cold water Jacuzzi!!! People came in to the hotel and crashed into our car and one of the employees (who was there) did nothing to inform us or to rectify it. Booking had one price they had another one all together.
The view was spectacular. The facilities are modern and well built. The manager tried to be attentive. Quiet and peaceful. The three bed suites with loft are very large and spacious. They would be great for a family.
The front desk only had one room reserved and we had two. Evidently the way booking.com sent the reservation to the hotel was not clear to them. There was no viable usable internet in the actual rooms during our stay. The rooms overlook the dining and bar outdoor terrace. The first night there was a large banquet function but it was not too noisy. The second night there was a group of 4 people who sat out on the terrace until about 2 AM. They were drunk and loud. We complained to the hotel staff about the noise as it made it difficult for us to sleep. The hotel did not take any meaningful action in regard to the noise. My bedroom was not made up after the first night. Upon check out the clerk could not provide me with a receipt for my payment. He did not seem very well versed in the front office software. He seemed to indicate that only the cashier who had accepted my payment could issue me a receipt.
The hotel was beautiful and in the mountains, it was clean and the water, when running was hot.
The advertisement stated room with a view, however, the view was of the parking lot. You had to pay extra to get a view. They cut off power and water to the room, so electronics did not charge and you could not take a shower if you got up early in the morning to leave
Staff was excellent. Upgraded my room at no extra cost because no other king rooms were available. The food is the restaurant was excellent. The staff was patient with my lack of Spanish.
The lack of wifi reception.
