I liked the location and facility.
The front desk staff needed training. They weren't very much help and told you one thing and did another.
Rooms - one of our two was upgraded upon check in to garden suite Pools and beach were great Very clean Food was good especially the Christmas dinner
Last minute need to pay all upfront due to "being the holiday time" requiring sending over copies of credit card and driver's license. Also was guided into a sales pitch for the Melia vacation club meeting with the description of a breakfast and tour of the resort. Only when we met did we get told what it really was. When we declined the presentation we were approached by several people asking "why not" and if they could set up another mtg. Our concierge became very scarce after we declined to meet the sales people. Certainly did not go there to hear the sales presentation but to vacation and relax.
Staff making noise outside the hotel room when we were in the room. The building flooded a few places.
I expected more from the food. Everything we ate was okay; nothing very good.
Absolutely Beautiful!!! Very very clean!!! Everyone is welcoming and very helpful. Everything is nice from the room to the landscaping. I highly recommend. We were on our honeymoon and will return! The resort is big But the stuttle is always there to get anywhere you need
Food was pretty and always well presented , but the buffet was not very good nor breakfast. And wifi would only work in one place in the resort ( we had babies to keep in touch with at home)
Grounds are gorgeous Pools are nice Rooms are spacious (albeit over priced)
We were tricked into buying this vacation package Tried to sell us on the "time share" Family Concierge was not worth the $ and only helped us to book dinner-the rest was up to us Didn't get kids welcome package as promised Wii didn't arrive for 4 days and then was broken and not ever fixed dvd player did not work either Kids area was for very small children--under 6. Other than video games and tv not a lot for the older kids to do. Door was broken when we got there and took 2 days to fix Costs as much or more as Beaches but nowhere near as nice Food was so-so There were only 3 types of beer to choose between and very inconsistent beverages Fruit was terrible Tipping was confusing and expensive The Aquatic staff was awful and mean and did not care one bit The beach had a lot of seaweed constantly and was dirty The staff was very hit or miss-some were nice, most didn't seem to care if you needed help English is not well spoken or understood by most staff Major issue with booking.com and false advertising--and nobody would make it right. The "coupons" and "vouchers" are a joke-- aren't actually worth anything unless you spend a fortune.
Beach and beach palapas, pools, golf cart timeliness, staff, kids club, spa, again staff, shopping center, doctor services, room jacuzzies, beds, bathrooms, showers, also amount of palapas, great and friendly lifeguards
Buffet food at times, pizza and burgers, no dominican authentic restaurant, couches in rooms, slippery marble floors, walking distance everywhere, too many conventions, restaurant reservation hassles, night shows too late for kids 9:30pm, bad description of events on property,
Some food lacking but we were able to deal with it.
staff is very attentive; grounds are beautiful.
we have been here before but first time at a swim-up room. we were eaten alive by the mosquitoes - daytime too! food was fair. room service was horrible - the food, not the delivery. WIFI not available 90% of the time.
This is truly a high-class resort, I recommend it to everyone who can afford it! The best place where we have had our beach-vacation. Also the excursions outside the resort were very good (whale-watching in Samana and the Pirate-Ship show). Would defenately go back and will recommend to all my friends
WIFI was available only half of the time, the management apologized for this and told it was temporary problems with WIFI.
Our family concierge, Andy Constantine was absolutely fantastic!
Could not connect to wifi at all
incredible facilities, beautiful rooms, beaches, & location. Soft sand, excellent food, excellent drinks
extremely cheap pillows made for uncomfortable sleep. Surprising to have such cheap pillows in a nice resort. Wifi was consistently awful throughout the resort. Once you actually had access, speed was good, but it was rare to be able to connect or stay connected, in spite attempts to fix the problem. Underneath the beautiful rooms, some problems with quality: Drawer handle and lamp were randomly fell over broken without touching either. Room refrigerator was too warm. Overheard several guests complaining about the pushiness of management in "hard" selling memberships and felt it took away some enjoyment from the trip for everyone - needs to be more subtle.
Horrible Service. Staff needed 'tips' to get reservations, better quality food ($10 tip got us lobster for lunch)...otherwise you couldn't get lobster. The food on lunch menu was inedible. Checked into room which looked ok but phones were dead, tv clickers needed batteries, safe didn't work, light bulbs were way to dim and room smelled musty. Never go to any of this companies 'all inclusives' again. Stay away!
