Just a suggestion, I would have liked a regular coffee pot, but who knows if I would have found coffee in Las Galeras ;)
A fantastic place hands down.. If you are smart enough to come to Samana province, Las Galeras, you might find paradise right here at Villa la Caleta. If you like a boutique, owner run hotel, with personal service, amazing value, and a boatload of charm; look no further. We stayed in the Palms Cottage and could not have asked for a more comfortable or beautiful island retreat. Some have said this was not on the beach. Well you are about 5 steps away from undeveloped shoreline and you can see and hear the ocean from your porch. To get there you walk out the door to amazing Coconut fields filled with grazing horses. Sometimes a local cowboy herds some cows through. The sunrise and sunsets are steps away and delightful. Serena was our main hostess and she is fun, and sweet, and helpful and probably speaks your language. The little bar, restaurant, wifi spot was way cool. A drink or coffee anytime, a meeting spot, and tiny hut of perfection. Francesco is the chef and you can have fresh fish or veggie pasta any night for a great price. You can have breakfast with coco shavings on your fruit. All was wonderful. The Italian friend's who run this place have created a small Dominican styled paradise. The beach for swimming is right through the palm fields. We discovered an ATM there if you need some cash. The famous El Cabito is a quick walk up the road. A car would be good, but not a must as there is an activity ranch around the corner and you can have a few supplies in the kitchen when you don't eat on the property. Loved having a blender in the cottage for fresh fruit and rum! Loved the daily maid service with floor mopping!!! All in all I do not think it gets a whole lot better than this very perfect spot with perfect service and your own private cafe.
