Rooms were magnificent, comfy beds, excellent and attentive staff, water taxi to the hotel is pretty fun too.
Stylish rooms, perfect view in the dinning place, very friendly and helpful staff
Shower hot water a bit weak in room Shark
All staff is so friendly and kind for us.
Some staff has poor English skill.
Very nice location. Easy access with water taxi. Everything worked well in the room.
The location is beautiful..right at the water It is very quiet as it is only accessible by water taxi from Puerto Ayora. The complimentary beakfast was very good with a good selection of items
The mosquitos were bad at night The wifi connection was not always very good
Warm welcome. Very helpful staff on the whole. Great room Lovely view. Very helpful customer focussed manager Good restaurant Wifi service Sea turtle swimming by the restaurant Arrangements for water taxi supported by staff
Breakfast OK One female member of staff had a lower standard of customer service below all the other staff who were excellent
Location , nice staff ,Cathy was excellent .great breakfast .
The staff were friendly and very helpful. Especially the reception
There was no hotel policy what to do in tsunami evacuation and we were involved in one and spent must of night in evac zone while owner asleep at 5 star hotel when we eventually contacted he sent truck for us. No compensation to bill. They also put surcharge of 15 dollars on ticket to another island just for booking it. But then receptionist sent boy to help us. But for 30 extra bit much. Took edge off stay a bit. But after having to run. 5 k to tsunami evac point hadn't energy to complain
Wifi didn't work unless I stood in the window...i stayed in Room Orion....fantastic...
Lovely setting, excellent staff. Beautiful room.
Would have been good to have a few more reclining chairs to relax on.
Perfect guest attention; Best location in town; Best restaurant in town (excellent homemade ice creams…)
Rooms and facilities are simple, 3 stars by international standards. But you won’t find much better in Puerto Ayora. If you want a real 5 stars in the Galapagos look for Iguana Crossing in Isabela Island.
Top location. Well maintained. Very friendly.
We loved the food, ambiance, and history behind the place. We will stay here again if we ever go back to Puerto Ayora.
Bigger towels and more of them would be nice (4 bath towels instead of 2) Although we were upgraded, we couldn't really use the jacuzzi tub because a bad smell would come out every time we turned on the jets (this kept happening even after the tub was re-cleaned). I was told from another source this was a problem in the Galapagos. Perhaps offering having Japanese soaking tubs would be a better option for guests.
clean, pretty, comfortable, good service. Never had to wait for a water taxi, they were always buzzing around. At the start of the path to Las Grietas.
kind of cold feeling, couldn't check in early, even though the hotel seemed almost empty, had to kill quite a bit of time. Restaurant was always almost empty, and breakfast fried eggs were like rubber -- couldn't even cut them. Coffee wasn't hot enough. Despite high price for room, everything seemed expensive on the same scale. The breakfast buffet was so far away from the tables outside, you felt unwelcome.
I thought the hotel was fabulous. Great location, staff were friendly and enjoyed our stay.
There was a smell in the bathroom that they needed to fix and although they knew about it, they waited for us to say something.
location was fine.
staff unfriendly. room cramped. food quality poor. meal served up cold & vastly overpriced.
the room was in perfect condition (except the jacuzzi) and just recently renovated wonderful view and super-clean! reception did a wonderful job! they helped a lot as we got troubles with our next destination. without problems they adjusted our booking as we had to leave earlier. excellent staff and very nice owner! if you go to galapagos puerto ayora is the best location and this hotel is very recommendable.
jacuzzi did not work properly (minor problem)
The upstairs corner room (#2 - The Pelican Room) was very light and airy, wonderful views of Academy Bay. Sebastian, the main chef in the dining room, was always smiling in the morning and greeting his diners.
That one isn't told that when they go on a day trip to another island it involves driving an hour back to the airport to get on a boat and then another hour back from the airport to the hotel.
Amazing location and very friendly staff. Loved it. A bit pricey but all in all a great experience.
Location and grounds Breakfast on the terrace Room we were reallocated -Mockingbird
Original room too small for a four night stay - Penguin Dinner menu limited so we only dined in once. No information whatsoever, no maps, details of trips etc
the staff was really friendly, helpful and professional our room was spacious, clean and had a great view the location is excellent
Liked the facilities, location, staff, appearance.
The feel of the hotel. How friendly every one is. Just everything in general. It was such a great stay. Great wrap up to our tour of Ecuador.
If there was one thing I would change, it was the over all attitude of the wait staff, but that is more of a countrywide feel not specific to the hotel. They are a little, eh, about their job. It almost made me feel badly for ordering.
The location and facilities were excellent. The view of the harbor was outstanding. Complimentary breakfast was very good, with an excellent selection.
The only caveat I have is that an older couple may have some difficulty since the hotel may only be reached by water taxi, and boarding and unboarding is somewhat difficulty. That being said, my 75 year old father-in-law did not have a problem.
