Boutique Hotel Mansion del Angel    

Loved the Colonial style of the rooms/building. Staff were so friendly and helpful with a real family atmosphere. Food great. Lovely gardens in the heart of Quito. Chocolate Spa was amazing!

The hotel was an excellent place to stay - previously the home of a very wealthy family in the 1800s (referred to in some information as previously being a palace in the 1800s) and currently filled with period furniture, chandeliers etc that reflect that grand era. The staff are excellent and very attentive and courteous. The rooms are very spacious and take you back to 100 years ago. It is located on the edge of the old historical centre of Quito. We'll definitely go back if we ever get the chance!

The attention to detail was superb. Rose petals on pillows, fresh flowers in the rooms, the smell of chocolate throughout the hotel, a hot water bottle in the bed every night, staff that were always there to help or to get me yet another cup of tea, friendliness.

It was so beautiful, like stepping back in time. The atmosphere was cozy and intimate, the staff were attentive and all requests were granted immediately. The beds were comfortable, with top quality bedding. We felt like we were staying with friends.

The stairs! We were out of breath from the altitude already. But the private feeling of the hotel came partly from the fact it was all above street level, so once we caught our breath, it was worth it.

It was really nice.

The location is a little off. The breakfast was great but room service food was so so. Cesar salad was terrible.

The excellent staff

Excellent Hotel with old world ambience. Superb service. When we arrived someone stayed late to fix our dinner and then, when we needed to check out at 4 A.M. in order to catch our flight, again someone in the hotel prepared a very nice breakfast or us at that time! Our room was very spacious and very well appointed. The beds were turned down while we were at dinner and as it was a chilly night a warm water bootle was put into each bed under the covers! Nice touch! Overall the service by staff was more than excellent and we felt pampered from the moment we arrived till we left. There were no extra charges other than what we ordered from the restaurant which provided us with a very tasty dinner in a very private and intimate setting. During our stay we felt more like the pampered house guests of one of the previous illustrious owners than paying customers in a big city hotel.

I liked the hotel very much but the food very nice for breakfast but not excellent in the evening

The hotel was beautiful, however we had a terrible room. It had twin beds that could not be pushed together. The room had no window, save one directly into the restaurant. The restaurant noise started about 5:30 am . We were awoken at 12:30 am by a guest being shown the breakfast room in loud voices. The staff were "angels" however and did everything to make our stay as enjoyable as possible given the circumstances.

The staff was extremely friendly and very accomodating. They very quickly responded to any request we made. The owner extended himself above and beyond what would be expected, even giving us a personal tour of the facilities and a history of the building. We will defintely stay in this hotel again.

I did not like that the hot water took a long time to arrive at the sink and shower. The floors were a bit squeaky, but, in a 110-yr-old building, that couldn't be helped

La atencion del personal, el desayuno ( calidad y presentacion) y los detalles en la decoracion. El hotel es muy bonito y cuenta con un lindo jardin. Todo refleja el cuidado y buen gusto de sus propietarios.

Mi habitacion quedaba frente a la calle principal, donde hay una escuela. Entonces senti un poco de ruido muy temprano en la manana.

Местоположение- особняк 19го века. Вежливый персонал. Бесплатный wifi.

Очень холодно в отеле!!! И днем и ночью! Интрерьер состоит из дешевых копий!!!

La cuidada y exquisita decoración de todas las instalaciones. La ambientación de todos los espacios y detalles, hace referencia a ángeles sumado al estilo romántico y colonial.

Solo le haría falta un frigobar en la suite.

Nos encantó el hotel. La decoración, el tamaño de las habitaciones, la ubicación y especialmente la amabilidad del personal. El desayuno es excelente y tiene buena conexión de WIFI.

Ho viaggiato molto ma non ho mai trovato un albergo così bello, accogliente, elegante. La camera é meravigliosa e ben arredata. Le parti comuni fantastiche. La posizione é ottima anche per il circuito suggerito da lonely planet nella città vecchia. Il rapporto qualità prezzo e' ottimo.Consiglio caldamente a tutti un soggiorno in questo hotel.

A hotel for those who prefer a unique experience rather than the predictable anonimity of an international chain hotel stay with pool, gym, business centre, several restaurants etc etc. where one could be staying anywhere in the world Hotel Mansion del Angel is a converted private home with a fascinating history, filled with beautiful antique furniture, paintings and ornaments, high ceilings and a lovely garden. Our bed, a four poster, was extremely comfortable and "furnished" with a hot water bottle every night, though the temperatures in Quito were in fact very pleasant. The staff is friendly and helpful though being able to converse in Spanish helps, as it does everywhere in South America. The food was very good, breakfast consisting of fresh fruit, cereal, eggs, ham, bacon and cold meats and cheeses, as well as delicious croissants. We ate dinner on two occasions and both meals were well presented and very enjoyable. On the other occasion we dined in a local restaurant and the hotel arranged a taxi for us. There is a spa in the garden which we did not use. We were also picked up at the airport by the hotel car which was obviously more expensive than an airport taxi but Quito is an extremely busy tourist airport and it was good to see our name being held up in the melee of the arrivals hall. If you do use an airport taxi, make sure you have the full address of the hotel as taxi drivers in Quito are not very knowledgeable in general. Internet connection was excellent in the hotel lobby, not quite as reliable in our room. All in all, a lovely stay with very pleasant memories.

Hotel had a lot of character and the feeling of Ecuador.
