Location is close to shops, restaurants and historical sites. Room on the small side but clean. Some of the staff were friendly enough especially the check in staff. The place is beautifully decorated , We loved it.

We had a 3am taxi booked for the airport but we could not pay our bill until after 9.30 pm ( not able to sleep before then) He demanded for a tip when we asked to pay our bill earlier. He was fast asleep in the sofa and did not wake up even after we took our hand luggage down and walked past him to turn on the light. He refused to take our suitcases down from the 3rd floor despite me asking him repeatedly. The taxi driver had to do it. Therefore my substantial tip went to the driver.

The staff, other than one of the front-desk man, was very friendly. Housekeeping was great. Breakfasts are good. This is a lovely hotel, with a great location.

We reserved a double room with a balcony. When we arrived, we were shown to a room with no balcony, and no exterior windows. I showed the front desk man specifically what our reservation stated. He just shrugged and said there were no double rooms with balconies available. He did not offer to reduce the price on the room with no window or balcony, but did offer a room with 2 beds and a balcony for $9 more each night. His customer service skills are severely lacking. Also, several things stated in the booking.com description are false. There is no on site parking. It was not a big deal for us to park in a separate lot (although the same knucklehead at the front desk gave us lousy directions), but if they don't have parking, they should not include that in their description. And WiFi works only in the common areas, not in the rooms, as stated in the description.

24 hr front desk. Our flight was diverted, so did not get in until 2 am. Beautiful. good location: near restaurants. Good breakfast.

Lights were on on the 2nd floor that blazed into our room. Hubby went to front desk at 2 am but they said someone turned them on and the switch was behind a locked door. Really poor nights' sleep.

The staff were very helpful and made our stay comfortable, safe, and easy.

A very uniqe hotel with a very nice architacture and decoration and in the middle of the historic city.

Impossible to have a good night sleep. The hotel, due to a design, is very noisy: banging doors, loud music in the reception area late at night, people talking and laughing loudly in the lobby late at night, all those noises are echoing all across the hotel making it impossible to fall asleep. We found the hotel staff arrogant and not helpful. Light sleepers should avoid this hotel.

Wifi access was dodgy My colleague's reservation through booking.com was not registered at the hotel (though they found her an alternative location)

There was zero information of a location for me to wash my clothes. The front desk said there was not any place to wash personal clothes .

Right by centre of old town. Helpful staff. Nice indoor courtyards. Tea and coffee available all day (but no milk). Fridge and microwave if you want to sort your own meals.

Old Quito cafes close at about 6. Archbichops palace (main square) stay open late but are pricey. It is a pity there is no food service in the hotel. Even a pizza delivery would be useful if you have just arrived and don't know where to get a meal..

Perfect location to sightsee. Great breakfast with fresh fruit, yogurt, fresh squeezed juices, eggs, and a great view at the top of the hotel. Nice sitting area with two PCs, refrigerator, microwave, hot water & tea. Beautiful lobby. Some English spoken.

Don't expect perfect quiet even in interior rooms. No HVAC means no insulation and sound travels perfectly. This is the case in most hotels however. Download "white noise" app on your phone. It helps tremendously!

Location

The hotel is in a great location, five minutes from the Historical Centre of Quito. The area feels safe as there are lots of police around. The hotel feels very homely and staff are very helpful. We stayed 7 nights in a suite (303), which was spacious and provided a large desk area and a small kitchen with a fridge and microwave. Tea/coffee making facilities, bottled water and computer facilities are available in the lounge free of charge.

Our second stay was in a smaller room on the second floor which we didn't like as it had no window. The booking.com description has two errors - the hotel does not have a restaurant or coffee shop/café, only a breakfast room. Also tea/coffee making facilities are not provided in the rooms.

The day we were scheduled to arrive, we were notified that rain had caused leaking and damaged some rooms. All day traveling we were unsure whether our reservation would be honored. We did get the room we had reserved, but our friends and others were not so lucky.They were sent at the last minute (1:00 am) to another hotel, not even given help with cab fare. In general staff was not helpful. I would not stay there again. Water costs $2.00 a bottle.

good quality, budget- wise, great location, safe, and clean

One person at the front desk a fellow with glasses was very cool in his manner. He got better but he gives a bad impression of a wonderful place to stay.

Nice location in central Quito Historic district. Staff are friendly and speak English. The place is clean. The beds are very comfortable. They have free wireless internet but it only works if you are near the router. It also seems quite slow. The breakfast is nice with eggs made to order, fruit, Mexican cheese, bread and something that looks like processed meat. The coffee is instant.

Few rooms have exterior windows, windows face the interior. The only view is from the 3rd floor dining area. They have difficulty providing hot water. Had to have several cold showers. They have no heating or cooling system which made it a bit cool in the breakfast room (February). And very warm in the room so it took a while to get to sleep. Tv in the rooms but no English channels. The lobby is in a central foyer. Our room on the second floor overlooked the lobby and it became very noisy in the mornings with people checking out early.

A great location in old town Quito, close to the churches, museums and sightseeing in the World Heritage Site streets. Lovely inside, English-speaking, friendly and helpful staff. I was dubious about the location, since I'm traveling alone, but I felt perfectly safe. Highly recommended.

Door buzzer was a little noisy from late arrivals, and wi-fi was unreliable, but these were minor problems. All in all, a great find.
