Good location Very nice historical house Personnel very nice and helpful
The location was excellent, the staff were helpful, the restaurant was great! All in all, a great bargain -- would highly recommend to anyone spending some time in Quito!
While I liked the smell of the air freshener, I think I may have been mildly allergic to it.
This is a lovely old family run hotel..The rooms are very clean and well appointed. The breakfast is great and I would recommend trying the restaurant at least once It also has spa facilities at a very reasonable price. Sonia and her staff are so welcoming and accommodating. The hotel has a wonderful position right in the middle of the old Town My daughter and I loved staying at the Cantuna and will definitely recommend it to our friends
Location: right in the middle of old town, Staff: great, can't thank the owner's son enough. Helpful with local info, history of the building, even with a second hand clothing program for us to contribute to. Premises: gorgeous place, be sure to ask about the history.
We did not have a lot of quiet, but that was due to a festival going on less that 1 block away. We had earplugs, so all good.
Good location in Guapulo...cool area and away from the noise and chaos from Plaza Foch but close enough to get there easily to hang out, eat and party. The hotel's staff was really helpful and the hotel itself is really nice looking, especially that lounge.
I knew nothing about Quito -- the staff was so informative --- booked a taxi ride from airport for me. I arrived at the hotel with my 13 year old son at 1am. There was someone there to greet us -- and make sure we had everything we needed. That same level of service continued throughout our stay. The hotel is gorgeous -- I can't wait to go back.
The hotel was perfectly located to visit churches, museums and galleries. A beautiful hotel filled with interesting artistic and old decor. Staff were very helpful with organising transfers and information about Quito. Breakfast was fantastic in the lovely restaurant. A great hotel and good value for money.
Overall, great. Charming with style.
No wifi in the room. You have to stay in the sort of outside lobby/living room
location friendly and helpful staff very good dinner in restaurant with personal attention by chef decor of the old house that belonged to the current owner grandparents beautiful setting and sitting room
i think the sheets were not changed it was noisy and i could hear the kitchen work noise in my room
historic building with charm and character excellent location friendly staff excellent breakfast (included in price) value for money
Noise level. Due to the age of the building, there is pretty well no insulation and you hear people going up and down the stairs, talking in the next room, showers running, etc. If you are a light sleeper, this hotel may not be for you. Our rooms were very close to one of the common areas with wifi which resulted in people talking and chatting in front of our door at night. Also, the noise from people leaving the hotel at all hours of the early morning woke us up and kept us from having a good night's sleep.
Very nice hotel on a perfect location. Staff very friendly en extremely helpfull. Nice breakfast. We came back to this hotel after Galapagos, en it feels like coming home.
Ambiance, location, recommendations of owners
Interior room was a little noisy. Third floor would be better.
Beautiful "Boutique" property added to by the "family" attitude of all the staff and owners. Central situation and security was great, as was the untiring good-will of all concerned..
No refrigerator in the room and lack of "after hours" coffee.
Atmosphere. Situation in historic centre. Helpfulness of staff. Wonderful food in restaurant. Sonia is magnificent going not only the "extra yard" but the "extra mile" to be helpful.
Excellent location in the old town. Very friendly and helpful staff (who speak english) Great value.
Friendly staff - helped arrange transportation to airport, accommodating very early morning check out time (with breakfast) Ambiance - has small seating area in the lobby with comfy cushions and reading material Hot water and shower were good Location
Triple room was a little small, but still comfortable enough for group
Todos The common areas were quaint, and very comfortable. The breakfasts were delicious. The location is perfect for pedestrian tourists. Good security and a warm friendly staff para no mucho dinero, esta perfecto!
The staff were so friendly, helpful and attentive. We felt very welcome and looked after.
We only stayed one night but I would highly recommend for a longer stay. It's a hippy vibe hacienda that is very comfortable with very accommodating staff. Great breakfast!
Historic center is dangerous at night so just be sure to be back at the hotel earlier than later.
Fantastic atmosphere. Historic building in a quiet location. Lovely court yard sitting area. Staff could not have been more welcoming and helpful.
Inability to get Wifi in the bedroom.
Awesome location, lovely owner, and very accommodating staff. Very quiet (in a courtyard) and nicely furnished. Service was terrific. This is an fine place to stay and an excellent value.
A very chilled hotel with excellent staff who were very helpful. Great common areas for reading and chilling out. Very nice breakfast, wifi ok outside the rooms, and a great location.
We had a room next to the common areas so it was a little noisy as people left for early morning flights.
We stayed four nights. You cannot beat this establishment for location, staff friendliness and value. The morning breakfast is included with the room rate and is VERY generous. On most mornings the cook prepared eggs to order on request. Most restaurants in Quito are closed for dinner on Sunday nights, however, this hotel also serves dinner (not included). The dinner was delicious and fairly priced.
We were not able to have a room with a double or queen bed, only two twin beds.
The history of the place is fascinating. The manner in which they added to the character of the 150 year old former convent is wonderful. Sonia, the administrator, along with her staff is extremely helpful. I would advise my friends to use this hotel. Thank you, Sonia.
The mirror in the bathroom is so high that I could barely see my forehead. Well, I'm only 5'2", it would make a difference if we had a mirror in the bedroom.
