Very good,
Score from 157 reviews
“ The place was very clean and everyone was very helpful particularly Andrea, the General Manager. The proximity to the Malecon and other areas of interest was all within walking distance. The area was also very safe although we did not stay out beyond 8:30 at night. There is a supermarket right across for shopping if needed. Breakfasts were excellent. We would highly recommend this place. ”

The staff is great. I stayed here the first night of my 6 week trip and again on the last night. Security was excellent which I appreciated as a solo senior traveler. The price is good and the air con was a plus! Breakfast was fine. A great location across from a grocery store and bakery. It's an easy walk to the Malecon shops and cafes. I appreciated the use of the computer. Some street noise but that is to be expected in Ecuador in a large city. The weather is very hot and muggy but that isn't something CASA de Romero can control :)

Staff very helpful, most were able to talk in English which was appreciated. Very helpful advice and always willing to help. Room service is excellent as is the breakfast service. Air con in my first room was really loud (7th floor room number 4). Second room had a clogged shower (3rd floor, room 4). Minor details tho!

The area was also very safe although we did not stay out beyond 8:30 at night. There is a supermarket right across for shopping if needed. Breakfasts were excellent. We would highly recommend this place. Tourists that arrived late at night were very noisy as sometimes were the staff when there was more than 1 person on duty. WIFI was not available in the rooms and we had to come to the reception area to connect.

The room was comfortable and clean for us and for our other two sets of friends who were located on the same floor close by and worth the price. The staff was very helpful especially allowing our friends to arrive very late into the night and assisting one set of our friends who had not received part of their luggage. These same friends stayed one day later than the rest of us and the staff even offered to give them a room on the third floor as it would be quieter than being on the second floor. The street noise was very noticeable at night and in the morning as below was the point for the city newspaper distribution. It could be a little hard to find if transportation is not provided by the hostal.

The location, the breakfast, the cleanliness, the possibility to use the kitchen and to have a laundry done, the useful tips from the staff. Sometimes a bit noisy but it is because of the good location and it is alright.

We booked Casa de Romero because of it's location and it didn't disappoint. A quick walk to to the Malecon and tons of shopping just outside the door. The security was good and brekkie was ok. We were on the 3rd floor and the street noise was a little loud.

Our room was right next to a busy road with car alarms and horns going till fairly late, but overall it wasn't too bad. It was one of the cleanest hotels we've stayed in, very comfortable. Layout of the hotel was a bit peculiar, and security was excellent.

Don't be fooled by the exterior! Take the elevator up to the 7th floor and you'll find a nice little safe haven in busy Guayaquil. Very nice place, very friendly staff, cozy atmosphere. Highly recommended

Absolutely loved the feeling of Casa De Romero, with the decor and the furnishings. It felt like home when my sister and I arrived and during our stay with you, The staff were most helpful at all times, and could not do enough for us. We were close to all shops and parks. I will certainly recommend this as the place to stay when in Guayaquil! Thank you so very much. Regards Maggie Hartley
