The only reason to stay here was to get an early bus to the Quilotoa loop. Walked round and there were zero attractions to visit. Even the churches were shut but that may have been due to the State of Emergency. Didn't eat out because I didn't see anywhere open I fancied eating in.

Though not much to do in the city, it's nevertheless a convenient stop for accessing all the nearby volcanoes and lakes. The city has a potential, it needs a bit of tourism infrastructure to encourage longer stay rather than a quick passing through.

Hotel also had great wifi and Netflix. Hotel staff were very helpful and allowed us to store our luggage for free for a few days while we climbed Cotopaxi. Hotel allowed us to use their microwave and sit in their dining area even late into the evening when we had leftover takeout food that needed warming up. Hot water, internet, TV, there was a small table and chair where I could work. Overall a great value. Definitely recommend getting a room with a garden view which looks over the park/square. We stayed the night before and after hiking the Quilotoa loop and would stay there again if we return to Latacunga.
