The staff were friendly. Breakfast was good - nice fruit and yogurt, a hot drink and bread. It was very quiet at night (apart from the third night when a band started up at midnight in a neighbouring hostel). On Sunday they screened a film on a big projector. The building/rooms were attractive and for novelty value it was good to stay there. There was a fridge in the room. We were given a plug-in mosquito repellent which was good. A good location as 5 minutes into the main area and beach but away from the noise of the centre. They provide towels.

The roof of our room was mosquito netting so there was no sound-proofing - ok generally but a bit noisy at breakfast (as we were right by the breakfast area) and also right next to the shared TV. The wifi did not reach the rooms (but was very good in the communal area across the road). We found the hostel a bit hard to find - the map doesn't help - but if you walk to the end of Montanita's main strip section and over a small bridge it's down the first dirt track on the right. There were a lot of spiders and ants in our room - to be expected in a room made of wood and mosquito nets - but I began to wonder why I accepted it in those circumstances but not it a plastered hotel... Our room wasn't cleaned whilst we were there (3 nights) - ok but the bathroom bin could have done with being emptied. (N.B. there is no pool - rooms do not have pool views).

The bungalow for seven people was really nice.

The rooms were not clean enough. Lots of mosquitos.
