Hostal El Monasterio

Good location in El Centro, close to restaurants, shopping, parks. Nice terrace and kitchen area overlooking street.

No hot water in the bathroom sink, and only Luke warm in the shower. Bedspread had many stains, although the sheets seemed ok. My room backed up to the kitchen area and was pretty much always noisy. This place is definitely not for the discriminating traveler.

Great location heart of the city center

This hostal is very centrally located at a 3 minuted walk to the town center. Various restaurants nearby and are excellent. There is a bank next door to this hostal, so that makes banking and ATM availability very convenient.

There are steps going up to the elevator of this high rise building, so for travelers with a lot of luggage, negotiating the steps can be a challenge.

Good location in the heart of the historical neighbourhood. Nice view from the kitchen and terraza. Staff were very nice, even when I told them we were changing hostel after the first night.

The double room was not like the one pictured on this website (it was cramped and a bit run down). The mattress was very hard -- it was like sleeping on the floor. There seems to be some kind of plumbing problem -- every so often a very nasty smell wafted through. The walls are incredibly thin -- you can hear everything the people in the other rooms are saying (and...err...doing). Although not the hotel's fault, there was a rooster in the courtyard below our window that insisted on waking us at 6am.

check the mattress on arrival. Some are hard like a stone and some very soft. I was surprised that I slept on hard and soft one very well and my back was not in pain in the morning. Check also the position of your room. It can be loud if you are close to the reception. Or put some earplugs. But all over I enjoyed my stay very well. Thanks.

Les comento que la reservación que tenia en este hotel no la respetaron, se hicieron los locos y me enviaron a otro hotel cercano

Es un excelente Hostal, pequeño y de buena ambientación, con una excelente relación precio servicio. La atención que se le da al viajero es super buena. El recepcionista Dany fue muy atento en todo momento y preocupado de atender todas las necesidades que uno requiere.

Quizás lo único que está un poco al debe, pero que en ningún caso empaña el buen concepto que me dejó este hostal sería un mayor conocimiento del personal respecto a preguntas habituales como direcciones de museos u horarios de atención

Lamento comentar que a pesar de la exitosa coneccion por medio de booking.com Me confirmaron la estadia via correo, fui hasta el Hostal y me indicaron que mi reserva no habia sido realizada. Por lo que tuve que buscar en ese momento otro sitio donde hospedarme. Es una lastima para el Ecuador contar aun con un servicio tan poco profesional. Gracias por su atención. Saludos Arq. Danny, who worked nights, was absolutely wonderful! Cheerful, helpful, hard working, fun.

Girl who worked afternoons was just the opposite. Gave my room away the first night of my reservation and put me a nasty hotel next door.

Excelente Ubicación.

Las paredes eran de durlock y se escuchaba TODO desde las otras habitaciones.

El sistema de cañerías no tiene buen diseño lo que hace que las aguas servidas atraviesen los desagues de habitaciones contiguas, creando un ambiend de falta de limpieza. El sector en el que está ubicado parecería inseguro ya que hay personas en el mercado de enfrente durmiendo a la intemperie y uno no sabe si de pronto están borrachos.

Unangenehmer Geruch im Bad bei Ankunft, da scheinbar das Klo/die Dusche längere Zeit nicht genutzt wurden Frühstück war erst ab 8 Uhr möglich. wir hatten einen Ausflug ab 7 Uhr und es war nicht möglich, um 6:30 Uhr ein Frühstück zu bekommen

La habitacion estaba pegada a la cocina y se oia todo... El baño bastante viejo y no excesivamente limpio.

Excelente atención y asesoramiento en cuanto a actividades turísticas en la zona.

La seriedad en la reserva y la atención del personal

El ambiente hogareño y cálido que denota, así como la amabilidad ofrecida por el personal que atiende en el mismo.

Las camas deberían ser sólidas, puesto que son viejas y hacen ruido al moverse.

Es muy acogedor y el personal es super amable. Como está ubicado a dos cuadras del centro histórico, te permite una vista impresionante de la ciudad.

Al llegar me informaron que ellos no cobran por habitación como aparece en Booking sino por persona.
