The only reason to stay here was to get an early bus to the Quilotoa loop. Walked round and there were zero attractions to visit. Even the churches were shut but that may have been due to the State of Emergency. Didn't eat out because I didn't see anywhere open I fancied eating in.

Though not much to do in the city, it's nevertheless a convenient stop for accessing all the nearby volcanoes and lakes. The city has a potential, it needs a bit of tourism infrastructure to encourage longer stay rather than a quick passing through.

The hotel was quiet and warm. Hot powerful showers. Lovely relaxed feel about the place. Tip - If you are planning to walk the Quilotoa Loop, you can store your excess baggage securely free of charge + the best hostel in Chugchilan (Cloud Forest Hostel) on route is owned by the same family, so might be worth asking about booking here. He also helped with reservwtion my accommodation while on the hike, saving me a few dollars. The hostel is a 10-minute walk from the bus terminal. The showers were hot and the Internet worked really well for me. You can also store your luggage here while you complete the Quilotoa Loop.
