The staff was exceptionally nice and accommodating. The location is near the park and a fantastic encebollado place. The parking is secure, and the rooms are serviceable and clean. The beds are softer than average in Ecuador, with nicer pillows. There is a fridge in the room.

Portoviejo has one of the best private hospitals in the country. We were there for a medical procedure. There are excellent facilities in the area---nice international wine store, for example. We didn't see much else, as this was not a tourist trip.
