The location is lovely 3 bedroom casitas on the Rio Mindo so you see & hear the water. Lots of birds & humming birds as well as beautiful flowers. Well off the beaten path. Good breakfasts & restaurant. Very clean.

    Very little English spoken.

I wanted to get a place where I can relax and enjoy nature. It was convenient to walk and take pictures of nature and hummingbirds. At night we were able to sit at the main house and listen to sounds of nature.

    Nothing really

very pretty location, helpful staff though seemed somewhat overwhelmed at times, away from the town, rushing river.

lousy pillows, hot room - could benefit from a ceiling fan and screened windows, many bugs, staff speaks very little english

Quite nose die to mountain river just beside the building - you feel no disturbing but feels like it's raining

Great place top stay if you love wildlife, lots of hummingbirds, toucans and a family of agoutis were residents to Mindo Garden. This was wonderful. The lodge restaurant was beautiful, right on the river, food reasonable and lodges themselves of a good standard.

Staff were really friendly and tried there best to accommodate us, however, they spoke near to no English! This was a problem for us as we spoke very little Spanish. So if you want to book a tour or find any information out about the area you need to go in to town to find one of the travel agents that spoke English.

Trails through the forest right on your doorstep; always lots of wildlife in the garden right in front of the restaurant; peaceful setting; excellent food.

Staff seemed to have very limited English; no advice on trips/walks/excursions was forthcoming. I got info in town.

The best place in Mindo. Brilliant location. Fantastic walks from the hotel, accommodation and service brilliant. It's 5 km from Mindo but Mindo town is not that great anyway.

    Nothing really.

Wonderful setting. Staff was very attentive and helpful finding excellent tour guides. Food was good and a good value. If you want peace and quiet, go to the Mindo garden. Staff only speaks Spanish, but they all made a good effort in communication. The Cabanas were rustic but very nice; bathrooms clean and modern. Bring your raingear.

The setting is great, cabins being next to the river and far enough away from each other. There are feeders to attract birds and other wildlife which is great entertainment in the morning. The units are attractive with modern fixtures, staff were very helpful and restaurant was excellent.

Location is at the end of the road, so a long way to walk to town. Poor WiFi only in the lobby. Would be nice to have fans in the rooms to help dry things out. Had two families above us, both with small babies but didn't find it too noisy.

Quiet ,Peaceful surroundings. Loved the large glass windows in the dining room; even while it rained we felt the atmosphere of the place. The staff let us spread out in the dining room-living room doing crafts and visiting . They didn't bother us unless we asked for something. Family like atmosphere. Exceptional food .Kind Staff

I can't think of anything. It was one of the best vacations I've ever had.

Very secluded in the rainforest (last hotel on the road) this hotel is unique ans beatiful. Taxi to town us 15 minutes ans cost 5$. It's worth the experience. It is currently under construction (but only for few weeks still). Restaurant offers very good food at good price (trucha Mindo is the best).

Staff speaks limited english. Reception and main lobby open on limited hours.

Main lodge and restaurant was fixed up in pleasant decor. Most workers were friendly.

The habitation was quite dusty with holes in the screens. Above 6 feet looked like had not been cleaned for years. Bed spreads were old and uncomfortable. Trails from lodge to the cabins were more like rough hiking trails and unsuitable as well as unsafe to walk. Fruit not available for breakfast. Way over priced. Road from town to lodge was in very rough shape. Taxi fees higher than normal. Manager inept at dealing with people. We were charged $77 + tax per night instead of $66 + tax as posted on website because of using booking.com. Loud music being played by construction workers close by on premises. Very dissatisfied. Would not recommend and would never return there.

Nice room away from everything near a beautiful fast flowing river (especially after a thunderstorm). A bit of a hike from Mindo, but quick and inexpensive taxi service. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good food excellent juices, excellent service.

Setting was amazing, the food was very good at the restaurant.

Breakfast was meant to be available from 8 am but the staff didn't turn up until 8 am so we were not provided breakfast until 8:30. As we had booked a taxi to take us on a tour at 9 am we had to really rush our breakfast which wasn't very relaxing.

The ambiance was great..very quiet when we were ther..right before Christmas. Food and service were very good....had a nice meal there and the main lodge is wonderful

The rooms ahd a few more bugs than we planned on but hey...it's the freakin' rain forest, right? It's a slow, bumpy cab/truck ride from Mindo. We rode horses (really fun) and did the canopy tour (fun, too) but both were a bit of a distance away from the Lodge. If you wqant to just kick back and relax this is a great spot. The rushing river next to our cabin put us right to sleep!

Pretty much everything....Carlos was great....the setting amazing, the food very good, as was the service......I rarely go back to places as I like to see as much of the world as possible, but just might have to return to Mindo Gardens and have already recommended it to friends and colleagues,.....:)

    Er...nothing!

Its location, the attention of the staff; the good service; the overall atomosphere.

Not knowing how far out it was; not being made aware that a four wheel drive was needed.
