The rooms are very old and the amenities, very basic. Keep in mind that this is not luxury accommodation. The ground floor room I first had got no sun and consequently it was cold. The bathroom had inadequate ventilation so, in that rainy climate, humidity and mold are inevitable no matter how much the staff cleans. My towel never dried out hanging in the bathroom. The rooms are very cramped. Too many beds are put in a room so that you can't open the ample closets (in the upstairs room). Unfortunately, a high-rise building is under construction immediately next to the B&B; however, there was no noise before 9 am and even then, there was very little construction noise.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The upper, second floor room was nicer, warmer and had a balcony on the garden where I could watch two hummingbirds flitting by frequently. Breakfast was abundant and good; staff were willing to prepare whatever you want. There was abundant, very hot water in the shower. The Indian decor in the rooms and common areas is lovely. The location is excellent, in La Mariscal, just a 5 min. walk to Plaza Foch (the main square of the tourist and nightlife area), the Ecovia is just three short blocks away and the Trole, a short distance on the other side of Plaza Foch. Buses run very frequently in the university area just half a block away. There is what appears to be a luxury hotel and restaurant on the corner across the street from the B&B and on that corner (just 5 meters from the B&B) there a security guard night and day. There are also other security guards on several corners between there and Plaza Foch, so I felt very safe walking home after having had a late dinner near the Plaza. There is a small variety/grocery store right across the street that sells drinks and snacks till 9 pm.
