Score from 114 reviews Very good
The location is nice, near the Charles Darwin Station, sea lions lounging on the restaurant deck, marine iguanas on your bedroom balcony; the adobe structure looks really nice;
Definitely not worth $280 per night ($230 plus 22% service and tax) - so wait/call the desk for lower rates more like $100/night; there is no natural ocean flow to the mangroves behind the hotel so they are pretty smelly; Wifi definitely does not work in the room - you have to get to the front desk area - the front desk staff will admit to this after they check you in; the front desk service varies hugely depending on the person at the desk - one very helpful person replaced by an absolutely indifferent one;
10 minutes walk from anywhere. Seals taking a siesta on the hotel deck. Simple requests responded to by staff.
Vastly overpriced. Kept awake by loud machinery noise at night. No views from room except of a tree or a wall. Incapable of providing us with a receipt for the stay. Would recommend looking at cheaper options and spend the difference on good day tours. The hotel is fine if you anticipate spending the day on the deck but not for an active vacation. Not worth three hundred dollars a nightime. Disappointing.
Friendly front desk staff. Room dimensions. Bed dimension. Terrace. Sea Lions and Marine Iguanas can be resting 3 m away while you're having a coffee. Bicycles available.
Value for money. Good hotel but overpriced. Breakfast price 24 USD (taxes included). Light curtains. Sunrise is at 5.30 AM in Dec. No Mini-bar.
Room was nice and aircon was running when I arrived. Bed was comfortable.
Breakfast was not included in the price of the room. Wasnt the best location was still a far bit of a walk to the main part of town. Deck was slippery when wet so was not able to go outside when it was wet. Need to fix that.
The room and facilities were very nice, modern, clean and well presented.. Overlooking the water with sea lions sun baking next to you along with iguanas and birds was unique. Food in the restaurant was v good and prices were reasonable
Staff at the reception counter were good and helpful but needed to go that extra bit for higher ratings. The wi fi connection was terrible and did not work some times. Based on international standards, the hotel is overpriced for what you get.
Luxurious for area, comparable to many 5 star hotels, very lovely, sea lions sitting in the next lounge chair, iguanas surrounding our chairs, great place.
Why so much money with poor $40 wifi? Breakfast $30 $ ? $50 supper, both buffets that were not exceptional. Many better treats down the road, what are the thinking?
Best days of the Place are over. You could imagine its former quality and beauty, but it would need a little restauration.
The view from my room
Location on the water was good. Short walk to town
Very expensive meals. Sea Lions on the deck. Smelled of urine Poor WiFi
The hotel was fine. We were able to check in early which was great. The room was clean and the dining area was also fine. The location was decent.
The hotel was not a good value for the cost. I expected better service and a nicer hotel room. I also booked a scuba trip though the Red Mangrove and was disappointed that it was poorly organized and I was overcharged by over $100 compared to the people that did not book through Red Mangrove. The scuba tour guide did not have my name or equipment and the Red Mangrove told me two different times for pick up.
Really loved this hotel shrouded in mangroves on the water's edge. Lovely room, big bathroom and great shower. Highly recommended.
To my liking, one room didn't smell good but they changed me right away without hesitation and I had a fantastic stay! Superb staff as well. Amazing to see all the animals living amongst the guest! I stayed at two hotels, the other one more expensive, but this was the best. Perfect for solo travellers!
The rooms are perfectly decorated...all in white and very clean. Love that this is an eco friendly hotel. You feel like you're in a private, small lodge. Right on the water (beautiful views) but near the town. This is without a doubt the most desirable accommodations in the town! Thank you Red Mangrove Adventura Lodge.
The rooms were nice, but $200+ per night, that is all you get - nice rooms.
We arrived after 2 hours jammed on a ferry to be greeted by a grumpy young lady at the front desk who literally rolled her eyes when forced to wait 10 seconds whilst we looked in our bags for our passports... That attitude was maintained for our entire stay - the other staff however were lovely. From there we were given keys, told not to drink the water, and shown our shoebox room. Within a minute me and my partner agreed that we had paid for a better room than what was provided - so were forced to ask to be moved. After speaking to several other guests, all had a similar issue being shoved in a small room with no views and having to ask for another. As there are no facilities, breakfast is not included ($24 each), and dinner is $36 US a meal.... U expect the $210 per night room to be amazing... It was just ok, not great. Trust me, you can find the equal of this place for much cheaper on any island if you look around, and breakfast will be included. This is for rich ppl who dont require value for money. If u spend any real time in ur resort on the Galapagos you are sick or injured - so save your money for an amazing tour;) you will not find value for money at Red Mangrove - you are hiring a room and everything else is expensive.
Room and view were great. Staff were always available and helpful. Bikes were a great addition.
Was not impressed with the restaurant, the coffee in particular was terrible,
Some Staff was very very friendly towards my kid...
The cleanliness: my room was full of excrement (mice?) of some sort of small animal. I asked the front desk a couple of time to clean it and they did not do it. I was on vacation ... so I did not want to ruin it by getting upset but I definitely will not return. The other thing that really bothered me was that some other part of the Staff was really indifferent about our needs. We wanted to have breakfast outside. The waiter did not show up...so I went inside and took dishes and flatware outside. The waiter was standing and observing and did not move a finger. He did not approach us at any time...I Even had to go inside to ask him to give me coffee... It´s a pitty...I Went there like 10 years ago and had such a fantastic time....
The views are spectacular and I couldn't have asked for a more convenient location. I was there to scuba dive with Scuba Iguana which was next door to the property so I just had to roll out of bed and was ready to go - helped since we left really early every day. The front desk was very helpful with printing out my boarding pass and dinner suggestions. What a great trip!
The wifi was very slow and kept coming in and out.
Rooms were nice, setting was very impressive. Lovely balcony from the restaurant.
Lots of construction noise during the day. It was not clear when we booked that breakfast was not included and it was $24 per person.
Breakfast , lunch and dinner very expensive
Big comfy beds. Spacious room. Nice bathroom with hair dryer and soap and shampoo etc.
Tv had no English channels. Restaurant was expensive. Wifi was poor.
The service in this hotel and restaurant is great, the staff is very friendly and very much willing to help, except for one misunderstanding (see negative point). The view from our room was beautiful.
Upon arrival, drenched in sweat, backpacks on, after traveling more than 20 hours, the reception wanted to charge us for the accommodation which had already been settled previously and confirmed via email. It wasn´t the best welcome. They told us they would check and not to worry about it, but when we wanted to check out they brought it up again, which means in the 6 days we were there no one checked it and we had to look for the email ourselves where we had gotten an email from them saying everything was ok and paid. There was no "do not disturb" sign and the first morning there, we were exhausted and we got woken up at 9am by the cleaning staff. We must´ve been close to a generator or something, but there was a very loud noise you could hear in the room all day and night. Their tours are much, much more expensive than the ones you will find in town
Locación is great
The cost Of meals and tours
The first staff member was not welcoming. My stay was for one night and the front desk clerk was upset because I did not arrange any tours. I was going on a boat with two land tours.
The location was good but value for money was farcical. Think of number double it add birthday and captured tourists will pay it oh and then add 12percent tax and 10 per cent service. Oh shame on me I thought service was part of staying in hotel
