Roberto, family, and staff bent over backward to accommodate us. We had a clean, spacious room, hot water shower, delicious food. COLD cervezas! Not to mention, wonderful views of the beach and ocean from everywhere!

    Nothing. Liked everything!!

Staff was friendly and very helpful. Very relaxing and comfortable rooms. The food was some of the best in Ecuador.

Staff was very friendly and willing to help. A/C unit worked great.

Staff new no English except for the owner Roberto, so if you speak no spanish it will be difficult to communicate. Pool was so dirty and cloudy I did not use it. My room was faced the street and a vacant lot. Although I had a balcony I could not use it because the stench from the septic system was wafting into my room and when I looked down, I could see the septic bubbling up. No hot water. Breakfast, which I pre-paid for, was terrible. Restaurant had some local cuisine as the cabanas on the beach but was over priced. I never did eat there because I could not find any staff to wait on me. His beers are way over priced as well. In town, $1.10 to $1.50, his price $4.00. I only got ONE towel my entire stay. Same person who cleans your room, waits on you at breakfast. I feel bad because Roberto is a very nice man, but has no clue how to run a hotel and he wants to charge resort prices but this is not a resort. It is, however, the best hotel in Puerto Cayo. Roberto clearly never walks the property because if he did he would see all the repairs that need to be made.

Location was great. Atmosphere was very relaxed and laid back. Great service and the owner Roberto was very accommodating!

Prices for the meals and drinks were quite high. Very similar to US prices.

This Ecuadorian-owned hotel breaks the mold. It's a small property, and the clean and modern design and beach front location make you feel a little like you're staying in a private villa. The owners are wonderful and really make you feel at home. If you get a second floor ocean front room, you can see whales from your balcony during the season. One note: this property is a few miles out of town, so be prepared for a short, cheap cab ride if you want to get lunch elsewhere.
