While planning for my stay at the hotel, I had written in to ask if I could extend my check out hour and how much it would be to pay per hour. Booking.com replied me saying the accomodation allowed me to stay up to 3pm at no extra cost and sent me a confirmation email. When I had checked-in at the hotel, the reception said that I can only stay till 12pm, but they would check with the management. They said this in an unpleasant manner, their faces long and not happy to entertain me even though I said booking.com told me it was already confirmed. But, they will check and call me later to confirm. They never called.
The next day, I went downstairs, to ask again about the check-out extension, they said, I could stay till 2pm. I explained, that my plane leaves at 7pm, and showed them the email booking.com sent me with the confirmation.
They pulled an even longer face than the day before, and reluctantly agreed to let me stay till 3pm. When I asked if there was something wrong, they tried to smile, but it was so fake, and declined to reply.
I would have been willing to pay the extra hour, but their attitude left a sour taste in the mouth, I did not want to talk to them anymore. Their receptionists should learn a thing or two about how to treat their customers better from their house-keeping staff.
I love the location, if you are in Guayaquil for just one night. It is connected to the Mall del Soll shopping center, and it is so convenient shopping for last minute needs, getting something to eat or just going for a late night show at the cinema theater. I would like to also mention the housekeeping staff who had better guest relations ethics than the reception. The next morning, I had run out of shampoo, and caught the house-keeping staff cleaning another room and asked for extra shampoo. He gave it to me, and asked if he could help with something else.
