the best place for stilling
The hostel is really central and in a contemporary and convenient location just outside the old town but in the midst of nice shops, restaurants, cinema, supermarket and -- this is really hard -- bars and clubs. The staff is nice and helpful and the price is just unbeatable! And heated toilet flooring!
No toiletries at all! :( The bathroom stank and the shower curtains were in dire need of cleaning. There wasn't any horrendous and noisy party nights during my stay as described by others. However the noise made by other stuff (snow shovelling, cars parking and people talking) resonated really loudly in the square just adjacent to the hostel! This shouldn't bother you if you possess the envious gift of falling asleep too easily as soon as you lay on a bed.
nice room, clean bed
noise from the next room dirty dishes in the kitchen
Friendly and helpful staff. Cleanliness. Clean towels and sheets. Close proximity to old town and public transport. Staff was informative about which places to visit and directions. Had an issue with the sauna and one of the guys managed to find a solution.
Very poor wifi connection. Had to go to the reception and use the computers for the internet. The dorm room has no window and it felt very stuffy inside. During the weekend it was very difficult to sleep at night because the dorm room is near a club and there was very loud music playing till 5am. There was no hot water one morning because the other people in the room used it all up and had to wait 2-3 hours for hot water.
Good location, good swimming pool, nice staff.
Old beds, pillows and blankets with spots. Not working outlet. The shower water becomes cold after 10 minutes of use. Expensive price.
We were there for only one night, but I guess everything was great.
Only thing - we didn't have time to take advantage of the free sauna which is only available between 9am-11am, due to our morning bus - but hopefully next time!
There were supposed to be toiletries included, but there was only one tiny bar of soap for two people.
The hotel was very near to the centre. The room (for 4 persons) was quite big, and the beds were very cosy, the bathroom had floor heating. The room had big windows, and was very light. They had beer and other long drinks for purchase in the lobby and the prices were very good. Really. Perfect stay if you want to party. They have sauna for free.
Firstly: We booked our room in the booking.com for 60 euros (4 persons/1 night in a room for four), but when we arived in the hotel the administrator said we should pay 100 euros. As we insisted on the price that was mentioned in our reservation, the administrator charged 60 euros. Please be careful of that. Secondly: The room was just above some club and it was very noisy until the early morning (very loud club music). And after the club was closed the party continued (at least I think so because of the loudness) in one of the hotel rooms, and practically it was almost impossible to sleep until 7 in the morning. I understand that it is a youth hotel but there must be some kind of rules there as not all of the guests want to party all the night. But it seems that the stuff don't care much about this... Thirdly: no TV or radio in the room, half of all light bulbs were burned out.
The place is located close to night clubs and restaurants.
It's load during night time. If you want to sleep do not come here. The staffs speaks poor English and understand little bit Finnish. The room didn't look like the same as in the internet. It's smelly and old hostel. I
I liked the girls at the office very much, they were very friendly, helpfull and attentive, even remembered my name. The sheets were very clean and neat, the dormitory was spacious. The hostel is excelently located near the harbour, in between of the old town and the ultramodern Tallinn, and 20 minutes walking to the international bus station.
The cleanliness in the shared parts of the hostel were doubtful. The (easy changeable) lining of the red chairs needed washing urgently, and there were crumbs everywhere up and under the couches downstairs. Wifi was slow.
The best location ever. Very big and comfortable bed. The room was big and we had a bathroom in room. Stuff was very helpful. They check in as in the early morning.
It was a little bit cold.
Close to old town.
Very loud nightclub-stripbar below the window
Convenient location quiet cosy place
The only bad thing was the vicinity of nightclub(s) - the clubbers went out for a smoke and lively conversations outdoors. For some reasons they gathered beneath out window. And it was all night long so I woke up several times during the nights
Location is very good.
Loud music from a bar in the neighbourhood until 6.30 am (when I left), couldn't sleep at all! Hot water the first 5 min. only cold water afterwards. The room was dusty.
Definetely a fair trade because for such a price you get a quite good room with shower and WC near supermarkt.Perfect solution if you want to stay for 1-2 nights near Oldtown.
Discoclub downstairs can be a problem if you are not a partyboy. In that case you can try 16 euro hostel near Fat Margareth.
Very good and helpful staff! Good locstion - in the heart of Tallinn and near the old city
Wi-fi didn't work in my room (307)
The hostel is located within a walking distance from the port and the old town.
The beds were very uncomfortable and the bed linnen wasn't clean (there was hair of previous visitors on the sheets). The room I stayed in was also very cold because one of the windows couldn't be closed properly. The wifi didn't work except for very short moments of sheer luck. I also find it strange and inconvenient that you have to leave the keys to the room at the reception every time you go out.
The smell in the room was really bad.
The friendly people. And close to the town.
Music outside. Shower was not clean.
We have stayed here for a second time and on this time it was almost perfect: a big window, warm floor at wc room, very comfortable beds. A room was warm and spacious. Perfect location, great staff.
A noisy bar just beyond the window with a loud music until 7 A.M.
Location, cleanliness, friendly staff, very reasonable price. :)
Honestly, couldn't find such thing so far. Staying in that hostel several times already, it still is our first choice place to spend the night. However it seems, also other people have find this and now it have happened few times that it's already full when I try to book it week or two before arriving to Tallinn. But then again, that's not the negative thing about the hostel, it's more our problem and shows, that we should simply book the room earlier. :D
Location is great, staff was nice and helpful, beds were comfortable enough, heating worked great which is really important as Tallinn could be a little chilly this time of the year
Wi-Fi was a bit dodgy, for some reason it disappeared sometimes. Also not really the cleanest rooms.
The staff girls were really nice and helping. Everything suited fine.
Since the hostel is in Rotermanni square, the music from the bars were really loud even at 7am.
Location is very good - near the harbour and near old town. It is perfect if you decided for one day trip to Helsinki. Also, stuff is really helpful and super nice.
Mattresses. I think that my back still hurt. I could feel every single spring.
Rooms are big. There is a kitchen and a sauna. Free printing. Helpful staff.
Hot water was not available in the mornings. Rooms on one side of the building (e.g. room 316 and nearby) are above bars which made loud noise over night until 8 am.
