We booked a family room and was given two connecting room at level 3, facing old town, nice view. About 10-15 minutes walk to old town. Hotel located just opposite ferry terminal D, within 2 minutes walk, there is a shopping mall with big supermarket and bus no. 2 to Tallinn Airport. They packet breakfast for each of us, including children, when we need to check-out at 6.15am, nice.
Bar closed very earle, problem with breakfest in early morning time. No possibility to order sandwich if you need out early from hotel. No friendly reception.
Close to city center Good price Clean Friendly stuff
Shower: no wall or curtain, water covered all the floor and my stuff by the sink
You have to walk into town every day as you are out of the main area, in saying that, it was handy to have a supermarket close by but at night to eat you did have to trapse up town a way even if you just wanted a coffee, but it was fair enough for it's price.
2 floors up they had a function and by 2am I'd had enough of the thump thump thump in my ears so went and spoke to the reception, it still took an hour before it wrapped up, it just seemed to be tough luck to any guests staying in the hotel, they didn't seem to be to bothered about it keeping everyone up.
The bathroom is a little bit oldish
Noise which was heard at night. Somebody played a game without receivers.
The location is so so so so so good, it is oppsite the D-terminal, very good for us to take the ship
I have to say the wifi is so poor, we are living on the first floor, but we cannot find the wift at room most time.
The staff was pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was good.
Furnishings were stained and a bit shabby.
I would like it to be single double bed for two.
too much noise, even can hear the footstep from the upper floor and in corridor with amplifying, also don't like the color of the hotel, red and orange, not good for sleeping
Compared to old town hotels, this one has way better prices. It is far from the centre, but has a bus connection every 30 minutes. WiFi works fine, breakfast ok.
Situated at the harbour, it is used mostly by cruise ship passengers for one night. Hostel atmosphere, which is okay for one night.
20 mins walk to old town. Was confonrtable stay. Helpful reception. Good food.
Simple Breakfast and same for every day:)
20mins walk to old town. Quite. Breakfast is fair. Good wifi connection. Clean. Staff are nice.bus station was 7 mins away by taxi
Beds are comfortable but small:)shower place is small also.
Location is very good, walking distance to ferry pier, close to downtown and supermarket
Breakfast was poor
the view on the harbor, the style of the room, the closeness to the city center, effective and helpful staff, the room was kept very clean
the couch had an old stain on it
Next door to departure point. Just across the road. Clean, comfortable room & bed.
Hotel opposite the port of Tallinn - only 10-15 mins walk to old town. Reasonable value, breakfast buffet average.
Room needed new bedding, bed cover dirty with cigarette burns.
Cleaning Crew must be used chemicals, washing room stinks like piss.
Rooms are comfortable
Are has no charm whatsoever, much better to stay in old town or even the business district
We stayed there because the ferry from Helsinki arrived at 0.30 and Portus is right next to the D-terminal. Breakfast was ok.
wifi just didn't work and receptionist couldn't help with it (it was very late though)
The bus stop is close to the hotel. It is very easy to go to the medieval city. The room and breakfast are good. Maria Helena - Belo Horizonte - Brasil
good location only if you travel through the port
dirty room, very poor breakfast
Rooms were basic and clean
I booked to stay at the City Hotel Portus twice (my first two nights in Tallinn and then, my last 2). I went for a few days to Saaremaa Island in between. I selected this hotel based on the price and also it had received good reviews overall. The rooms are not bad and breakfast is included in the room rate. It's about a 20 minute walk from near the D terminal to the Old City but this also is ok as I like walking. My problems really began on the day I checked out of the hotel to go to Saaremaa. I was flying to Saaremaa and needed to take a taxi to the airport. On arrival this had cost me about 7 euros. I asked the hotel to call me a cab which they did. I waited and they told me the cab was outside. I went outside and the cab had arrived. I got in. About half way to the airport I noticed the meter on the cab said 22 euros! I questioned the driver in complete shock. This was his rate. Apparently different companies have quite different rates. Clearly this company "Taxi and Transport" preyed on naive tourists such as myself. But I also wonder why the hotel would use this company? I had trusted the hotel to look out for me as a guest and they had not. When I returned to the hotel 3 days later I found that even though I had a booking there, they didn't have any room for me. Again imagine the shock of this when you arrive. I asked where I was supposed to go and they indicated the name of another hotel "Hotel Shnelli" which is about 15 minutes away near the train station. I knew nothing about this other hotel and was unhappy that my reservations could just be changed with consulting me. They did pay for a taxi to take me to the new hotel and I noticed they didn't call the Taxi and Transport company! I asked the hotel clerk to call the new hotel to confirm that I had a reservation there and he didn't want to at first. I had to insist and he begrudgingly phoned.
Cleanliss and intimacy
Poor wi fi in the room
