The location was a 10 minute walk from the old town which must be why anybody would go to Tallin. The hotel is on the 3rd floor of a drab soviet style block of flats. There is no lift and it's a bit confusing how to get in for the first time. I've stayed in worst places but then again I wouldn't class this as a cheap hotel for this part of the world. I would say ok for one or two nights but I wouldn't like to stay here for a week. Most fittings were cracked or broken, although working but there were 3 bullet holes in the windows which didn't help for a good nights sleep! Breakfast was brought up to the room but again - nothing to get excited about. I've stopped in what amounts to a shed in Eastern Europe and had better meals. If I came here again I would try my luck at another hotel as g9 should be called a hostel under the Trade Descriptions Act which clearly doesn't apply in the rest of Europe - Vive le uk that's all I can say!

Especially we liked the staff. All the ladies were very friendly and ready to give a helping hand in any case. The hotel is situated in 10 - 15 minutes' walk from the city sights, it was very convenient.

We've already stayed at this hotel and knew what to expect. And we found again that it's good choice for overnight stay. The location is good - city center is 7 min walk, airport bus stop is 3 min walk. Nothing, because we did not expect to find something special. Room is basic but it's OK if you need just a bed and shower.

I liked only location - in the downtown, near the Old City. I choose this hotel by only one reason - special offer (half a price). I didn't like hotel layout - 3rd floor in 5 floor building. No elevator.Room, where I was staying, needs renovation - floor is with cracks, in shower room - lime smuts. But the worst thing - bugs - some kind of little brown ants, climing on the wall near table, other bugs were on the wall in shower room...

Great location, comfortable beds. The smell from the "restaurant" on the first floor was awful and you could not go up to the hotel (which is on the third floor and should be called a hostel) without being sick. The wireless did not work in our room, and the bathroom needed a proper cleaning. It's ok for one night, but not more.

The only good thing about this hotel that they have brought a breakfast to the room for free. I suppose, they simply do not have even a canteen to serve breakfast. Location is good, but the hotel is very poor. It seems, that it is refurbished student campus of Tallinn University. The hotel is situated on 3rd floor of ugly Soviet-style building, you have to pass through 3 locked doors, climb up the smelly staircase (no lift there, of course) with all your luggage. The Estonian lady, who met on the reception, doesn't like Russian people, but Russian lady on the next morning was nice. The bed was quite fair, heating system still Soviet (so it was warm), bathroom is a mess -all the Soviet tiles and these shit odours from the pipes I can't bear. The hotel is good only for travelling students or people who don't care about anything, but even for these categories - I'd like to advise: chaps, please try to find out something other and better for the same money.

“The location was amazing- I was on the 6th floor and had an amazing view of Toompea. The staff were extremely helpful and was very secure. The buffet breakfast was very good- a mix of breads, cold meats, cheese, scrambled eggs, salads, pickles and more with a selection of hot and cold drinks. Extremely competitive price.” Christopher, Ilford |
