Good location in this lovely town. Within easy reach of the main square on foot. Near the bus station (excellent services on all out of town routes, by the way. Economical, clean and on punctual - to be recommended as a way of exploring if you don't have a car), two big shopping centres, the main 'sights' including the museum, observatory, river, churches, etc.Reception staff very friendly and helpful. Room small and short on cupboard space if you are travelling as a couple but clean - more of a 'conference attendee' room - and with free WiFi, nice tv, good view towards the town with big window. Nothing much - pretty much as expected but I would say I'd probably not be tempted to eat anything other than breakfast in the hotel. The food is probably fine but the location and atmosphere of the 'English Bar' leaves something to be desired and there are so many restaurants within spitting distance (the main square and roads leading off from and parallel to it) which serve really good food for sensible prices (2 courses + 2 glasses wine + soft drink + coffee for about 40-45 Euro for two people, excl. tip). Also no hairdryer in the room - apparently you can get one from reception but we came prepared!

Good location. Free parking and WiFi. Comfy beds and quiet air con that worked well. Breakfast was poor - left out mostly uncovered in a very warm pub attatched to hotel. Food very unappetising and aclet down

First we were given a very tiny room, of course we didn`t like it, because before I booked this hotel I had looked through the photos, and those pictures were very different from what we got. We were not satisfied, I called the reception to ask to change the room, but the receptionist told me that the hotel was completely booked, but she added that maybe the next day she would try to change the room. So the next morning we got a wonderful big room with a great view, we really enjoyed the second day of our stay. They have only showers in the bathrooms

I liked the comfortable beds and the views from the bedrooms. This was a very convenient hotel. Souless building with few facilities. Parking is limited and cramped.

Good hotel incity center. Traffic noise doesn't disturb you. Leaflets say there are several rooms with disign interiors, but I had no luck to stay there. Local restaurant has great views if you book table at the windows. Band is playing on evenings. But still no noise at rooms.

The centre of Tartu is really small, and Pallas is in a good position to visit it although is just outside the pedestrian area. Moreover, the structure reflects the cultural vocation of the city (is a former school of art: you'll notice once you are in your room).

Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Tartu. Great location (only minutes away from the bus station and town centre), great price and the rooms have that boutique feel to them. Would use again.

The presence of air-conditioner, the location. The old carpet on the floor, the old furniture; barking dogs in the next room; there was no fan and fridge; a lot of mature couples in the hotel.

Location was great! Staff was great! City was great! Weather was great! Air conditioning in room is very nice! Everything is in walking distance: City attractions, bus station, department stores, restaurants, spa. Car parking was quite full but eventually it was not a big problem.

Location was perfect; near but in the middle of everything. The room was very small: only one blanket and towel in the room despite having booked double room. Not that fancy as in the pictures and smelled stuffy.

“The staff were helpful and friendly and spoke good English. The hotel is easily found in the middle of Tartu, which is easy to navigate around. We were only there for one night but had a nice walk in the park and found the Wilde Restaurant attached to a theatre, which did fabulous food. The hotel room was clean and had everything we needed, and the breakfast was substantial and varied.” Timothy, Musselburgh |
