The host was very welcoming and friendly. The place is fantastic- with a beautiful view and quiet. The breakfast was delicious!
Owner is a nice guy! Pond is full of carp, that will eat bread right from your hands! And area is just lovely.
Helpful and welcoming staff. Very nice breakfast!
The toilets/shower rooms could be better. The water didn`t flow away, the floor was constantly wet.
localisation, garden, kindness of owner, natural area
I liked the lokation, the Nationalpark, the owners and specially the breakfast - it was wonderful for me; to swim in the little nature pools in the Nationalpark was wonderful
the Moskitos in the Nationalpark - but I took than a jacket against the Moskitos and they were singing around me without to be able to bite me
Everything was perfect. Very nice place.
Great host, lovely countryside (right next to Sooma National park). We were the only ones there, so enjoyed a Sauna and skinny dipping in the pond in the middle of the countryside, under the stars, all for ourselves. Wish we had stayed more than one night!
More kitchen utensils, pots/pans etc and blankets would be good.
We reached Põnka with two casual bikes (call them vintage) after a 160km trip from Mazsalaca (Latvia) to Pärnu. It was our second day on the road and first one with sun. Before we found the place we recovered our energy and oxygen stocks in Sooma National Park, and finally arrived at Põnka with great expectations to have a nice evening at Estonian country side. And everything we imagined during our pedaling talks was there. And even more - we spent our guest status only with a nice two-children family, some big carps, local piranhas in our night swimming pond and a mystic anaconda that unfortunately did not appeared. We could restore our volleyball skills accompanied by standing ovations from the herd of sheep, and overall felt like at home with some guest extras. Finally all the best greeting to our polyglot host! We definitely will come back soon.
It was not so easy to find the right way without all those digital self-and-place localization gadgets. So we spent some extra km and time to have a wonderful talk with an Estonian lady with great map drawing skills.
