We had a reserved a suite and our confirmation read that we would have "separate seating area, sofa and fire place".We had none of the above, just got a normal room. When we asked to change to the suite we had reserved and paid for they said that there were no more rooms available due to a wedding. The wedding couple had gotten a suite. Fair enough, but not really our problem since we had received a confirmation of our suite. What bothered us the most though was the unfriendliness of the staff and even when we kindly said that even a simple "We are sorry for your inconvenience, please accept our apologies!" Would suffice we received no answer! And it was impossible to reach a manager during the weekend. Very disappointing since we had planned a luxury weekend!

Centrally located. Reasonable breakfast although exactly the same options (I.E. self service items) every day which became boring after 4 days Very unfriendly reception. Tatty entrance and carpets. Looks like a real budget hotel as one enters it! Was initially allocated a downstairs Budget room which was pokey and dark (only window was one above door). When we booked the hotel on the web we were unaware of this "budget allocation" even though we paid nearly €80 per night B&B. Managed to get an upgrade to Standard room because they were quiet during the week which was a much better room with high ceilings and a big window. Floor above very "creaky". Could hear every movement from people staying above. Am sure there are better value for money hotels available in Tallinn.

Location wise was very good The beds were so uncomfortable and the rooms looked very messy. I would recommend just purely on location however if booking ask if you could have 2 mattresses on your bed. The spare beds were very bad as the boards kept falling out of them

Very good location, great medieval building with nice furnishings. Very cosy and stylish. Whole hotel seems a bit loud, the walls are probably very thin. The breakfast area is a bit small and they don't have wifi on the rooms.

The hotel was listed as 4 star hotel but it is not at all. The room was full of damp, and the hotel is too old and while I was going downstairs a huge rat was climbing up the stairs. I was unfortunate to book such a hotel and will never recommend it to anybody.

The location was excellent. The first receptionist was rather rude and not very professional but luckily later the person changed and the new person was listening our concern about the room. The hotel rooms are very small and the promised internet connection was not working in the first room. There was a confusion somekinda becouse we understood by the hotel info that it was a spa hotel and there would be a sauna ( at least). We had a long trip behind us and it was a big dream to get to the sauna to relax. Again the first receptionist was not very professional when giving out the information.

Excellent location in the Old Town close to site seeing, resturants, cafes and pubs. Short walk (400m) from the main railway station which is also stop No8 for the airport shuttle bus No90K. Rooms and corridors have random exposed original stone to give an rustic look. Reception staff efficient but a little terse. Breakfast basic but more than adequate. Bath towels rather small and a kettle in the room would have been nice.

This hotel is well placed in the old town, walking distance of the Square and the Toompa Hill. We loved the rabbit warren of crooked corridors! Good value. We checked the nearest fire exit to our room: it was locked...

Not much - just not my cup of tea at all. A very old building converted to a hotel very interesting but in my case I was on the fifth floor in what used to be the attic, which was very hot with one small velox type window, no air and no curtains so 20 hours daylight - sleeping was impossible. Also access to the room in my view is dangerous - no lifts so carry your luggage up 5 flights of stairs the last two of which are virtually virtical - an accident waiting to happen and not for the faint hearted - after two nights of no sleep I checked out and moved to another hotel complete with aircon, list and curtains - heaven. Wont be going back to the St. Olav hotel in a hurry but dont be put off if you like this sort of adventure.

St. Olav is located in the Old City of Tallinn. It is in a great location, in a centuries-old building. Breakfast was great, located in a converted ballroom. Quick walk to the ferry, and easy taxi to the airport. The economy room is small, and the walls are paper thin. We could hear everything above us and in each room on each side. There was no view - but you get what you pay for. Money goes a lot further in Riga or Helsinki.

Excellent location in the old city, incredible old building with an endless maze of corridors. The fact that we were upgraded from an economy room to a standard room with a jacuzzi. Nice breakfast. We did not see a single employ smiling (though they were very efficient), we were not allowed to check out at 13:00 when our taxi to the airport was picking us up, instead we had to check out strictly at 12:00. We asked the reception to call a taxi for us which ended up being a very pricey transfer company rather than a regular one.

The location is excellent. Perfect position for the old town. The beds are very comfortable also. There is a real sense of history about the hotel. The little lounge beside the reception is very comfortable and well set up for guests waiting for departure with TV and free internet. The sound proofing between rooms is non existent. The rooms are also very basic in appearance and lack character.

Probably the best thing about the hotel is location. It is a great starting point to explore Tallinn, close to the main square and the Toompea hill. The hotel has the wonderful atmosphere (maybe thanks to the design) and gives a great feel of the city spirit. It is easy to get to all places of interests, as well as restaurants, shops, and theaters. All the staff was friendly and helpful, there was no languare barrier for russian tourists. The breakfast was great, with the much bigger variety of choise than in the hotels of the same class in other European countries. In is served in the 19-century dining room. I would surely reccomend this hotel for those who want not only to see but to feel the beautiful city of Tallinn As it was said in some reviews, it can be noisy if someone lives in a room close to you.
