unfriendly personal voice isolation
It was a decent hotel, had a good old-time-y feel to it, the one you'd expect from a hotel in the medieval part of Tallinn.
The breakfast was just a couple of slices of bread and something to put on top of it, as far as I could see, I might've just been late for the best part of it as I got there pretty late. When I checked in, I wasn't asked to pay for my stay upfront – I was prepared, of course, but thought it was a nice touch of trust. When I checked out two mornings later I went downstairs prepared to pay for my stay in cash, as this was more convenient at the time, but was told I had already paid when I checked in. We got to the bottom of it after some time and discovered the girl who checked me in had taken the money from my account without asking how I would like to pay for my stay – as I used a the same card I was constantly using throughout my trip to back up my reservations it ended up costing me £30 (40 eur) fine from the bank for exceeding the limit. Something that could've easily been avoided if the girl would've just asked how I'd like to pay for my stay.
nice design, great location.
may be very noisy outside, in the yard of the restaurant nearby, also you can hear everything what happens in the rooms close to yours. no elevator. hard, or even impossible, to open the window for fresh air. may be very cold in the bathroom.
Good location in old town. Reasonable prices and value for money. Nice decoration by utilizating features of old historic building.
Soundproofing not very good. Noice from outside and other rooms too easy to hear. Restaurant and bar were booked for private affair later in the evening and there was no information visible about that, just "gorilla at door" preventing entrance into restaurant. WiFi very very slow or not working at all.
Centerally located for old town.
I am regularly staing in Tallinn. Will not stay here. Rooms are terribly small, almost no window, very ordinary shower and many more minus. Because it is an old house and hard to change i can see it but terrible coridors makes everything e en worst.
No curtains in room
Clean quaint and value for money , in minutes of a walk to the old town in tallinn
Great location in the old town and very helpful and friendly staff.Restaurants and most attraction close by or accessible by local bus
Walls in hotel super thin and you can hear the conversation in the next room very easily. Any noise at all can be heard.
Beautiful interior and good location.
They have a place for events like wedding. So if you're a regular guest and planning to sleep over night then forget about it because extremely loud music, running kids, and drunk people will not let you do so. Also, in Tallinn you should be aware of taxi drivers who change you €4.00 per kilometre (this should cost approximately €0.80). It seems St.Olav Hotel works together with those taxi drivers because we asked staff to call us a taxi and they called one of those drivers.
Great location, intriguing building, excellent breakfast, comfortable rooms. An enjoyable stay.
A creaky old building with thin floors. We were staying out of season, and it was quiet - it could be noisy in the summer.
Noise from the stairs.
This is unique old hotel almost in the middle of the Old Town – with maze of narrow corridors and staircases. Our room on the third floor was quite small, but nice and quiet. Breakfast in big bright dining room was good. WiFi was solid. And we had no difficulties with the staff.
However, it sees that the hotel has staff problem: we had to programme our keys twice, old furniture in the room was not clean, some lamp bulbs were absent and the pressure in water supply was low.
Perfect location to discover the city! Inna from reception is very helpfull and good with advices.
We don't have any view from the window of our room on first floor(was only wall of another building).
Atmosfæren, masser af fine gamle møbler, billeder mm. Spændende bygning. Suite var fantastisk.
The noise from karokee bar, have never tried anything like that, couldn't sleep before after 5 am.
Bad smell of drains in bedroom.
The location is great the breakfast is very good, the room and the hotel is also very good. We had a back room which was quiet for a good nights sleep.
On checkin we where given a forth floor room no problem but with no life and the girl on reception not informing us that the hotel has split levels we had to return to rec again to find this out as we could not find our room. also they disconnected our room card so more back and forth to reception to get it reactivated. Also on leaving the hotel arranged a taxi to the airport which cost more then twice the price we paid on arrival. The girl on rec is less then helpful. But we cannot talk for all the staff as we only had to deal with her.
unbeatable location excellent breakfast
Location - about 30 seconds walk from the main square
Location, just a short stroll from main square. Building has character. Nice breakfast
Not enough plugs! Unable to recharge phone and ipad, unable to use bedside light! Shower pressure poor. Noisy corridor next to room, (floor creaked every time someone walked by)
Couple of minutes walk to main square. Free wifi and internet. Breakfast included potatos and curries veg but something for everyones taste and plentiful.
Glad I was on ground floor as I believe that it was very hard to find your way around the upper floors and lots of steps with no lift.
Great location within the Old Town, and a quirky interesting building in its own right.
The restaurant adjoining the hotel was closed, however there were plenty of eating options in nearby streets.
Perfect spot in the old town. Walking distance to everything. Not a 5 star resort but didn't expect it to be. If you want value for money and prepared for basic this is the place for you.
excellent location, quiet room.
stale buns! the provision of eatables for breakfast was haphazard, and seemed to rely a lot on buffet leftovers. the staff did not seem to know how to connect an outsider caller to the room telephone.
Nice location and not much outside noise
No running water first thing in the morning, no curtains to keep out the bright sun! Slow check in process
