I stayed four nights at the hostel. It was a fun time. Every one that worked there was awesome. They really put a lot of effort into making it a fun Place to stay. It is a party hostel. I was a little older than most of the people staying there. But I did not feel out of Place. The guys and girls keep everything as clean as possible. The Place is pretty popular. So it was packed almost every night. They have pub crawls, their own bar. Everything that you need to entertain their guests and have a good time. I would reccomend this Place.
Great location, great atmosphere, great facilities, and literally the best staff. Tough times hit us, personal matters back home, and they could not have been more supportive. Thank you again, you saved our Tallinn visit.
Nothing. Stay at this hostel!
Haven't travelled for a while but the whole experience brought everything that was good about it back. Although we were a stag party from the UK we really enjoyed every second and can see why the Monks Bunk has such a good rep. Thanks you to everyone!!!
People. Comfort. Location. Quality. Cleaning.
Friendly hostel in a good location, ideal for large groups. Excellent value, nothing flash as you expect from a hostel but ticks all the boxes. Would recommend!
If you don't like communal living then splash out on a hotel.
Very friendly hostel close to the centre of Tallin. Clean and funny, our double room was perfect. Suggested to young people!
location friendly & helpful staff especially Claire!
Although my friend and I were worried about the 'party' label on this hostel, we were pleasantly surprised. It was very clean, efficient and welcoming check in and good sized kitchen. We stayed in the private two bed room which was very quiet and spacious. There was supposedly a party every night in the bar from 9pm, but as we were out every night, we didn't see this. When we got back about 1am, it was very quiet.
It was possible to find only using Google maps. The directions could be a lot easier on the website, as the main thing you can see from the top of the street is a sign for a sex shop! Hostel is just past here and the only sign for it is a A4 laminated sign in the door way. The street is very safe though.
The staff was so nice, helped us a lot, recommended great places to see and eat. The elk soup in draakon was wonderful and the pancakes as well. Also there was a washing machine available for the guests. Nice and cozy, rooms and bathrooms clean all day. Also the hostel is surrounded by nice shisha places. Everything great in Talinn, looking forward to be there again!
The signage wasn't good so was difficult to find at first
I stayed with them 6 nights. Nice staff cozy environment and very clean. Excellent location. Would definitely stay with them again.
Bar, staff, location
I had over 15 bedbug bites in the morning, disguisting! Don't expect any peace in the mixed dorm - there is always someone who doesn't care about the clock No storage room for luggage, you leave your staff in lobby.
awsome place, very easy to meet people, great staff, very clean, super good atmosphere
The Monk's Bunk bills itself as a hostel for the "party people," and it certainly lives up to its name: generally young crowd, 24 hour onsite bar, beer pong in the common room, and nightly pub crawls complete with an all-you-drink "power hour" that helps everyone get in the pub crawling mood. If all of that sounds fun to you, this is definitely the place to be. If not, then you're probably better off paying a bit more for a private room in one of Tallinn's cheaper hotels. Not that you can't escape the festivities if you want to--the hostel is large and generally well-maintained and there are places to retreat. But you do have to walk through it. Staff is very friendly and genuinely attentive to the guests.
Rates are cheap and so are the drinks, but be prepared to pay a cash deposit for the key. Also, it's apparently considered impolite to wear shoes indoors in the Baltics, so the hostel requires everyone to leave their shoes in a mudroom at the front. I got used to this pretty quickly, and even found it kind of homey after a while. But bring flips flops if the idea of walking around barefoot in public bothers you (e.g. if you're Spanish).
Cool location, very friendly and chill staff, gave really good recommendations to local stuff, well-equipped kitchen.
It's listed as a party hostel, so those that choose it are seeking to party! There were a couple stag/bachelor parties there when we were, so it was loud until about 09.00 but they gave free earplugs!
Excellent location, friendly staff, clean and pleasant rooms.
Reception was on the top floor, not handy for carrying heavy bags!
The best services i've ever had. Drinked and got drunked at 6am! Amazing
Excellent attention from staff. I especially want to thank the Italian guy for waking me up for my bus trip when I drunkenly overslept! I missed my first bus but barely caught the second 15 minutes later. Sergei, sorry we didn't get to party -- next time I'm in Tallinn! I sent 3 Israeli girls your way and I'm sure you'll take great care of them!
Good central location Staff very friendly and helpful
I think I should have read more into this hostel before, I was looking for a more social hostel however I had to be up at 5am to go home and party went on past 4 and I was constantly woke up from noise outside the hostel/upstairs and in the corridoors which was pretty annoying. I was using it as 'base' but I was also looking to talk to people but not to be kept awake all night. I think I would have been better if I didnt have to be up so early to fly.
we were 10 girls visiting Tallin for one night just for quick party. Staff was extremly welcoming and friendly-couldn't ask more . Helped us with all the details and information we needed. On friday night on bar was great party going on and bartender welcomed us with some Vana Tallinn shots.Shower and toilets might be busy in morning hours but they are fresh and clean. Location is great even at first hostel might be tricky to find. You can enter the hostel only with Your magnetic key so it feel safe. Be ready to leave Your shoes as You enter the place to keep to keep nice wooden floors as nice as they are. Thanks for all the staff for making good impression for local people. We will stay there again whenever we go back!
Unfortunatly room wasn't as clean as we could have wish and we found some dark hair on pillowcase.
I really liked the general atmosphere in the hostel. It was a lot of fun, all the stuff were extremely helpful and open. It was very easy to make new friends, every night there were pub crawl organized, and it is located very close to the Old Town (about 3 mins away). The rooms are like typical rooms in hostels, but what I really liked was that the shower rooms were clean and nice, comparing to what I have experienced in other hostels.
I didn't really have anything negative. I just must say that if you are open and easy to talk to people it will be very fun for you, if you prefer quite places, hostels are probably not for you.
Extremely friendly personnel, nice company from all over the world. An excellent place for backpacker. An overall hostel is clean and nice
* Staff was friendly. * There was a party in the common living room, which made it very easy to get in touch with other travelers and also people living in Tallinn. * The room I booked was not available due to renovations, but I was offered an equivalent room for a better price.
* You don't get a key for the front door, so you have to ring the bell every time you want to go back to the hostel.
