We had an amazing experience. The room was such an incredible mix of being classic (600 yr old building) and wonderful modern amenities. Very Romantic! The breakfast was beyond description. So much variety and so tastefully presented. All of these great experiences were only superceded by the extravagant service of the team. We were welcomed so warmly and cared for at every possible detail. The location is the best - right in the heart of the Old City. We never even attempted to explore the rest of the city - it was so great to be in the midst of all the history of Riga. Would definitely stay there again and recommend it to everyone we know.

Conveniently located within walking distance of all sights in Old Tallinn and Toompea. The staff were friendly, helpful and spoke very good English. The hotel restaurant was very good, offering interesting dishes and a relaxed atmosphere. The room and bed were huge. Taxis cannot drop guests at the door (pedestrianised street) so a walk of about 200m is involved. Not a problem for us but older or disabled guests might find this inconvenient. No lift but help given with luggage.

Lovely hotel, all rooms are dfferent, ours wasn;t enourmous but clean and more than enough for the amount of time we were in it. The staff were pleasant, location was great and we even had a dip in the jacuzzi on the last morning. Overall a great few days.

The location of the hotel was perfect for visiting the Old Town of Tallinn. The best word that I can use to describe this hotel is charming. The staff was very friendly and informal. The television reception was terrible and it only had one channel. They also need to put more and better towels in the bathroom.

The Inn was a very unusual and unique design right in the heart of the old town - you couldn't be in a better location. Room was large and so was the bed - fantastic size and comfy! For the price you pay you would expect tea and coffee facilities in your room, but there were none. Disappointed that there was no bath - we tried to upgrade but no baths in the hotel apparently! My husband would have liked more comfort - carpet and painted walls - but I quite liked this.

A warm welcome from staff who went out of their way to provide an excellent service. Hotel has been beautifully and tastefully renovated and has an Italian style restaurant. The hotel is well situated in the old town yet is close to the main areas of the rest of the city - shopping malls and transport links etc.

It was full of character and different to your usual hotels. A couple of the walls were unpainted. They would look better if they were painted. Apart from that, the room was lovely.

We enjoyed it. It is in a historic building in the old town of Tallin. The room was delightful we had a king size 4 poster bed. We were not warned that the taxi could only get us to about 400m from the hotel(as the hotel is in the old town). Walking the last 400m with all our luggage- we had lots of it incuding a bike box as we were on our way back from a triathlon event- was not easy over the cobbles..

The Viru is superbly positioned in the Old town of Tallinn, and is very nicely appointed, the Rooms are gorgeous and full of character, with exposed beams and different levels etc. We had a Superior Dlx Room, and the Bed was extremely comfortable. Only minor points were that the WiFi was a bit hit/miss in the room, and the tv only had a about 3 channels on it, none International/English. The Hotel operates its own Pizzeria/restaurant from street level, which we used once. However, it was staffed by very young staff with seemingly no-one in charge, and consequently service was chaotic, some people's meals came quickly, some didnt, and we waited for over an hour before finally being told that they had forgotten to put in our order. 2 Pizza's were hastily prepared for us, which were good, and they didnt charge us as we had waited so long, but all in all, not ideal.

I liked the slightly bohemian, relaxed look and atmosphere, and the eclectic way the whole hotel had been furnished. Also it was great that some of the original features of this very old, historic building were visible. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I was a bit surprised that the "superior double room" did not have any "bathroom goodies" or any extras other than bathrobes, but then again I had found this hotel by "googling" for budget accommodation. Also I feel that visitors should be made aware at the booking stage that there is no lift. This of course is understandable in a small historic building, and the staff always help with carrying cases upstairs, but it could be a problem for some people.

The Inn had character - modern amenities with charm - and is in a great location in the old town. There were restaurants and bard all around but I did not hear them at all during the night. The breakfast was pretty good (and I am a vegetarian) and the staff were friendly. I would have liked the hotel doors and reception to have been open more- I felt like I was intruding on the restaurant.

The Viru Inn is a nice boutique hotel in the heart of the Old Town of Tallinn. Ideal for a short break. The room was spacious and comfortable and the staff helpful and friendly No coffee making facilities or toiletries in the room. The tv channel selection was terrible (only Eurosport after 11.00 pm)

The room was immaculately clean and the bathroom very spacious. Having free use of the excellent sauna, steam room and pool was also a great reason to stay at the Viru Inn. Staff were always polite, attentive and willing to assist. The breakfast buffet choice was very good. And of course the location was perfect, right in the old town with all you could ask for on the doorstep. We had no problems with noise at night either. I'd highly recommend this accommodation.

Design of the building and the rooms is very nice. Rooms are very comfortable Service of the employees could be much better. No real hotel feeling as a reception is only available during the day. In the evenings nobody is really dedicated hotel staff (people working in the restaurant) and the large key is nothing you wanna carry around all the time

Wonderful location in Old Town. Our room (4) was lovely and the hotel staff was very accomodating helping with bags. Tallinn is a fun city and this location makes it very enjoyable. Make sure to ask for the Viru Inn, not the Viru Hotel if you take a taxi. They're not too far apart, but we got caught in a rainshower walking the 3 or 4 blocks when the taxi driver took us to the wrong location.

We stayed in a superior room which I believe was more spacious than the basic room. The hotel is small and staff friendly. The Viru Inn is centrally located. Tallinn is very busy on a Saturday night so some may find the hotel noisy, we didn't though. The hotel doesn't have air conditioning which, again, some may prefer. We would happily book this hotel again. The rooms do not have tea/coffee making facilities which I would have liked but I was aware of this in advance.
