The hotel gives you the feeling that you are at home... same furniture same design especially the apartment suite... It is clean and has all facilities you need for a couple of days... Staff are very friendly and always asks your opinion about your accommoati0on and if you need anything... Breakfast is a small buffet and has the main items for a good breakfast.

Noise of the street if you opened the windows and the parking place if it is a normal working day...

2 out of 3 mornings breakfast not ready although it was after 800 hours; plus laundry all over breakfast room; Also arranged a half day tour with driver and guide; Original guide not able to make it last minute so substitute provided; unfortunately substitute while excellent driver was not a guide however same fee charged as the manger Amro continued to feel this was the negotiated rte and we decided argument not worth it; only time we felt cheated during our 3 weeks in Egypt

The staff were very friendly and always helpful, even to the point of providing free room service (with extra bonus cake!), and the room was clean and well-kept. The location isn't exactly sea-front but it's only a short walk, and very lively. Breakfast was standard for Egyptian hotels: I hope you like cheese.

Only little things: the bathroom door didn't close without being slammed, the wardrobe had a weird little two-inch raise in front of it that tripped my wife up. That and the location - though the hotel itself is spotless, if we weren't used to the appalling filth of living in an Egyptian city, we'd have been horrified.

Breakfast good, spacious room.

No double bed available even though we booked double bed. Heavy luggage, but elevator not operating. Manager heavy smoker, smoke filled area. For payment in local currency, requested exchange rate was very unreasonable, though finally agreed otherwise.

The staff was exceptionally helpful and nice. They made it a point to address any questions I had about the area and helped guide me through Alexandria. The room was clean and well maintained!

The entrance is a little difficult to find otherwise it was exactly what I was hoping for my short visit to Alexandria.

1. In town center. Near Saad Zaghloul Street (Shopping for Clothes). Definitely not for those who wants to go to the beach. Plenty of taxi to catch to get around, though. 2. The room were comfortable. The hotel entrance may be a bit intimidating but the inside was acceptable.

1. I booked for the suite with heavily discounted price only to find out that it wasn't available on the day of arrival. I arrived very late and had no choice but to accept the double room. I have a feeling that it was planned! 2. Don't expect much from the staff. I requested to extend my check out time by from 12:00 to 12:30 minutes and was asked to pay for an extra day!? 2. I didn't find any reasonably comfortable restaurant nearby. 3. The hotel entrance may not be what you expected from a "Hotel". Had I arrived in the morning I might be tempted to look for alternative hotels. However, once inside, it is quite OK. 4. Having said all that, if you just want a place to crash and nothing fancy, I still recommend this hotel.

We asked for a pick up at the airport. They comfirmmed. They didn't show up. The telephones they have given us, were dead. When we arrived, we discovered that the night receptionist just speaks arabic. Our room was very noisy because of a big school across the street. Our bathroom was smelly. The breakfast was very poor and the food looked old. We asked for a taxi, in two different occasions: on the first time, at night, they said they couldn't arrange it; on the second, it took an hour!

When I paid the hotel they used an exchange rate that was a lot less advantagious to me than I was expecting. I had changed AUD for exactly 7 Egyptian pounds (LE) to 1 AUD that morning. So USD would have worth slightly less. I had worked that the price should be about 629 LE. There charged me over 800 LE. When I challenged them they told that is the rate they could get in local shops. I protested that I shouldn't be forced to pay black market prices.In the end they let pay in USD. I think the hotel acted unprofessionally.

I liked the place even more on my second visit. The same good cheer of the friendly staff; Amr in particular is ever so keen to help. I was pleasantly surprised to see the breakfast room refurbished in style. Now it is an open buffet: essential but varied and delicious with a heater provided. The place is spotless clean and a haven in down town Alexandria. I would surely come back again and again.

The rooms are smelly and the staff cannot speak basic English. I found out the communication very difficult and the room prices were altered by using a higher converter's factor. They are not reliable and try to fool tourist.

In Mancheia,near city center.

There is no excursion bureau in the hotel.You have to ask to staff but for the same excursion they charge different prices.This is unfair.

Alexander the Great is an oasis of cleanliness, good cheer, and welcoming warmth. The staff are super friendly and eager to please. The room is as fresh and clean as the photo and the bathroom spotless. Amr at the front desk is helpful, unassuming as well as highly professional. I would definitely come back again and again.

All is more than nice.. I felt really like in a family. The staff is also super organized and prepared. The rooms are absolutely clean and the position couldn't be better. Sincerely recommended!!!

The guy there gave me a useful paper with all kinds of information for sightseeing, train&bus ticket and food in english and arabic. very important to me. thanks a lot. hotel is clean and comfortable. staff is friendly.

Bring earplugs! The street is very noisy, which is endemic to Egyptian cities.

The most wonderful thing are the staff dealing and response , specially Mr. Amr Muhammad, He was friendly, helpful, and any thing you asked they response in estimated time,, Thanks...

just a suggestions: Isolating windows, and Providing a refrigerator in the room.

Very friendly staff; big rooms in an old Alexandrine building offering an authentic atmosphere of the cosmopolitan nature of this city (I liked that; my wife didn't); convenient location for visits to the old part of Alexandria - the Greek church is just behind the hotel, the Italian church on the opposite side of the road.

Being located in the centre of the city, the neighbourhood may not be appealing to everybody.

We only stayed for one night, but we will definitely go back to this hotel if we visit Alexandria again. The room was spotlessly clean, and furnished very nicely (we even had a canopy bed). Our room had a balcony, and we were able to have our breakfast brought there. The staff was very nice and recommended an amazing seafood and fish restaurant. The Wifi in our room worked well, and the location was good too - it takes you only about 10 minutes to walk to the Corniche and you can reach the hotel within another ten minutes from the Masr train station.

I really cannot think of anything, I just hope we´ll be able to go back there soon.

Location was good (near to the centre and Corniche), the room was clean, the staff was helpful and friendly.
