El Luxor Hotel  

The Luxor Museum is very good and a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The room and the bathroom are spacious, silent and clean. The pool is nice. The breakfast is fair and the staff is ok.

There is wifi in the lobby but if you do not have a device you will have to wait until a staff member allows you to use one of the their computers. If you decide to walk you will suffer severe hassle from drivers of the coaches which have a stop point just in front of the hotel.

Loved the location of this hotel with beautiful views over the nile and only a short distance from many of the amazing sights Luxor has to offer. The staff are very helpful and the rooms are cleaned daily. Would recommend this hotel to all types of traveller.

Redecoration going on in some areas of the hotel so a little noise can be heard but this starts late in the morning and finishes well before the evening.

The location is great. The staff is wonderful and very helpful. The siege is a little anoying, therefore, we recomend the taxi driver Mr. Adel, who works rigth in front of the hotel, and speaks English.

The upstairs restaurant offers a poor lunch.

The hotel location is Excellent! very close to the Market and down town. it has a marvelous river view. and horses carriages are always waiting in front of the hotel to take you anywhere in the city with reasonable prices " you have to bargain" !

The A/C was not working in the whole hotel! I went on February 2013, it was 27 degrees and I'm used to sleeping in A/C ! but I was told that in winter they cannot turn on the ACs :(

EI Luxor was the best hotel we stayed in our egypt journey. Not only the friendly price, but the well decorated modern room, all the facilities are customer considered . The staff are very hospitality and skillful. They changed us a Nile View room for free, and let us delay 2 hours to check out. Good location that we can get anywhere so conveniently . There is a exchanging counter , fire balloon booking reception in the lobby......everything is so perfect.

The nile view room we had was fantastic. Breakfast is a buffet, and has a very wide selection, which will fill you up for the day! The swimming pool is great! The location for the east bank attactions, and downtown all within walking distance. The bank inside the hotel, gave us the best exchange rate. Very relaxing.

wifi is now available free, but wasn't told until it was too late. 2 floors are being renovated, and there was heavy banging in the morning. (Jan 22nd 2013) Food is priced ok, but drinks aren't. Better to buy at a local shop. Nothing else to complain about, except soup spoons at breakfast!!

Reception provided us with a twin room despite my booking asking for a double - this seems to be a trend for all hotels in Egypt! Internet only in lobby and that was also not working for the time of my stay.

Excellent reception area. Very friendly staff at reception. Nice Bar and seating areas. Swimming pool and area are good. The refurbished bedrooms with a Nile view are very nice. Ample choice at breakfast. In all - good value for money and I would stay here again.

No major grumbles - the bed was not the best if like me, you prefer a firm bed - but it wasn't too bad either. As others mention, No tea / Coffee, etc in the room, but there is a kettle and mugs ???? Come on guys, easy to get that sorted!

After our stay in Cairo, this hotel in Luxor came as a pleasant surprise. The location and the get-up is very nice. The staff welcomed us in a friendly way. Made us feel like home.

They can possibly improve with the security personnel at the gate.

Large impressive hotel with great central location 5 mins from temples with extensive views over the Nile and Theban Hills. Easy check-in at well run Reception, greeted by smiling helpful staff. Nice well-presented modern rooms, comfy beds with crisp immaculate white sheets and duvets! Could see Luxor Temple from my balcony. Immaculate bathroom, quiet plumbing, plug and lotions supplied for bath. Quiet aircon, hot and cold. Large heated pool, in well-kept garden area with comfy sun loungers, quality towels. The pool-side food is v good and plenty of it, with breakfast buffet served in Nile view restaurant. It was a real treat to stay here and left feeling relaxed, refreshed and ready for the hassle and bussle of Luxor city. Am already planning my next visit with family soon. RECOMMENDED

Well equipped tea tray in the room, but no supplies of tea/coffee/biscuits to greet weary travellers. There is some renovation building work taking place in rooms near the pool, which can be heard.

Bedding a bit soft. Can't avoid the city's prayer loudspeakers very early in the morning.

Look above (all excellent). I myself found most valuable and important,that staff was so kindly, polite and so skilled.

The staff were not forthcoming with information about the facilities available to us we had to ask and familiarise ourselves with our hotel surroundings. The pool area had far too many flies and although this is something that could not be controlled I believe it could have been managed better. The comfort and cleanness of the room was very good. The view of the nile and the valley of the kings.

Friendliness of staff , always making you feel welcome and part of the El Luxor family. The location is ideal for enjoying its close proximity to the Nile, Luxor Temple, Karnak Temple, crossings to the West Bank and overlooks the Valley of the Kings. Walking to the centre of Luxor is only 5-10 minutes along the bustling Corniche or through the nearby modern Souk. The swimming pool in the hotel gardens must be one of the best in Luxor. Changeing money at the bank in the hotel lobby is always efficient, friendly and competitively rated. The rate is always much better than you will find at home. The buffet breakfast is sufficient to give you a good start for the daily excursions.

Old fashioned hotel, basic 3 star at the very best, but great pool, reasonably priced restaurant, and overall clean, so offers an excellent price for value ratio. Staff were competent.

Very poor breakfast. 1 type of fruit on offer in a City that produces millions of tons of sub tropical fruits. The Egg cooker was one of the most sullen and disinterested people I have ever experienced, having stayed at many hotels around the world.

The location of the hotel was great and close to main attractions, value for money comparing to other hotels El Luxor hotel gives you good quality of rooms and food.

I believe the hotel needs to be renewed from inside, decoration and etc...

Alors que la reservation avait deja ete payee par notre agence, la reception nous a demande de regler a nouveau la chambre car le paiement n'etait pas enregistre dans leur ordinateur! Pas envie de me battre a 1h du matin - mon agence a regle la situation le lendemain!

отель полностью оправдал ожидания. удобное расположение - рядом луксорский музей и храм. вид на нил замечательный. на такси за вполне умеренную цену можно доехать как до достопримечательностей самого города (восточный и западный берег), так и до всех близлежащих городков с замечательными храмами (абидос - именно большими буквами - храм сети1 вне конкуренции; дендера; эсна; эдфу и т.д.). таксисты прекрасно знают английский, довезут куда угодно и подождут, пока вы осматривайте достопримечательности сколько скажите, по дороге помогут купить все что вам нужно. сам отель далеко не роскошный конечно, но все работает, очень чисто, уборка на хорошем уровне, кормят вполне прилично. есть внутренняя территория с хорошим бассейном. правда мне некогда было загорать... вообще сам луксор понравился больше всего среди других городков долины нила. самый спокойный, зеленый и доброжелательный.

за такие деньги нравится абсолютно все!!!
