Dear Sir/Madam, Through Booking .com I recently booked 2 rooms at the Fayoum Helnan Aberge for a weekend get away for myself and my friends. We were in rooms 207 and 207 staying on 15th and 16th November. More friends decided to join us and were in room 135. On check out, the young lady on the desk , Nancy, produced bills for myself and my friends, and had taken the cost of 2 nights from the credit card I had given as a guarantee. I have booked rooms across the globe with booking.com over the last 4 years, and never before has this happened to me. Always, in accordance to the booking.com terms, I pay the full cost of the rooms to the hotel on check out. The website, on the booking page for your hotel, clearly states:- You will pay the hotel in the hotel’s local currency (egp) at the exchange rate on day of payment. The following comes from the Terms and conditions of Booking.com in relation to me as a customer. 5. Credit card Hotels require credit card details in order to guarantee your reservation. As such, we will send your credit card information directly to the hotel at which your booking is made and we may verify (i.e. pre-authorise) your credit card as well. In order to safeguard and encrypt your credit card information when in transit to us, we use the "Secure Socket Layer (SSL)" technology for our services. For certain rates or special offers, please note that your credit card may be pre-authorised or charged (sometimes without any option for refund) upon reservation and confirmation of the booking. Please check the room details thoroughly for any such conditions prior to making your reservation. Nowhere on the website does it identify your standard lake view room as a special offer or identify it as a certain rate. As a British person living and working in Egypt, I am unable to get a local credit card, therefore I use my UK credit card as a guarantee, and pay for the rooms with my local HSBC debit card, or in cash.

على الفندق أن يعلن عن نفسه فى الوسائل المختلفة فانا اعتقد أن الكثير لا يعلمون عنه. كما يمكن أن ينسقوا مع شركات سياحية للرحلات المتاحة لتشجيع السياحة الداخلية.

お風呂場に砂が落ちていたり、水まわりの清掃がよくなかった。

Good location if one wants a weekend trip outside of Cairo. The hotel is clean and has a nice pool (the lake seemed to dirty to swim in). One can arrange trips to the nearby pyramids and the UNESCO site Wadi Hittan.

The food is expensive and a bit of a disseapointment.

- found a bedbug - internet not working - low waterpressure for the shower - toilet not flushing requesting to fix these defects took many reminders, staff mostly seem to be uninterested

A luxurious hotel with hostorical ambiance . The staff is very friendly and welcoming .
