Everything, especially the staff was great. Thank you Victoria and staff. We stayed at multiple 5 stars hotels in Egypt (Mena House Cairo and Baron Palace Hurghada), but this was the best choice so far.
Wifi signal in the rooms could be optimized
everything, sensational and staff are great
wifi is not in the room !
Location & facilities
- did not get the room which I reserved - paid $130 per person for new year party but found everybody allowed to attend -the info provided by concierge staff incorrect and out of date
The staff was amazing, very friendly and unbelievably helpful, literally nothing was too much trouble. The location is quiet and secluded, which we appreciated very much. A free shuttle bus runs on the hour at 11.00, 12.00, 13.00 and in the evening 20.00, 21.00 and 22.00 into Luxor downtown and back. There is internet in the room but do not forget to bring a connecting cable, as it is not WIFI. There is free WIFI but only in the public areas. The hotel also has its own boats on site but we didn't check them out. There are 2 swimming pools: a big one mainly with kids and parents and a separate small infinity pool with a cosy seating area which the children seemed to avoid. After having looked at the other high end hotels we definitely would go back here and can highly recommend it. The Winter Palace Hotel is more central but the view onto the nile is spoiled by a big noisy road. The gardens are fantastic though. The Hilton is much more modern and has a fantastic location straight on the Nile - depends what you are looking for.
The breakfast was ok but nothing to rave about. The location is close to Karnak Temple but not close enough to be able to walk. You need a taxi for everything but they are very cheap so not a problem. As of December 2014 (not many tourists) the cost for a taxi from Luxor Temple to the Hilton Hotel was 20 Egyptian pounds but be prepared to haggle. The sauna was not hot and there were no hot stones so no possibility to adjust the temperature/ humidity. The seating however was too hot to sit on, so in the end just an unusable warm room (in female sauna the seats were fine but still not a sauna). Herbal room was quite unclear to me as to its function. It had dry herbs but no water or steam flowing through them. Of the the three, the steam room was the only one to fulfil its purpose but had an space-ship feeling to it. We didn't try out the treatments.
pool area is beautiful perfect location at the Nile very friendly staff
Setting, breakfast, staff, pools, efficient handling of requests and questions, shuttle
calm, peaceful, All staffs are friendly, nice. Beautiful swimming pool, fantastic Mojito.
The fact that we went there in low season and there were very few guests in the hotel made our stay very special. The hotel is beautiful, with tasteful decoration. The pool areas are lovely, quiet, overlooking the Nile. It feels like you are in an oasis. The hotel is quite close to Karnak Temple and there is a free shuttle service to any place in the city center where you need to go. The staff is very helpful and professional, particularly if you compare with the quality of service in other places in Egypt. The rooms are not luxurious, not big, and dont offer some perks you find in 5 star hotels, but it has the essential, including iron and iron board in the room. In general, the hotel is great value for the money, specially if you take into consideration the great, well trained staff, the newness and cleanliness of the rooms and common areas, and the location. Oh, and the wet, cold, mint scented towels that you receive from the attentive staff is simply the best treat ever for someone melting in the Egyptian heat.
There was no cable TV with 2014 world cup games. Like elsewhere in Egypt, there is no alcohol available in the mini bar, or in the spa pool. The towels are small and not great quality.
Every thing about the facility
Location, staff & amenities.
Hidden taxes & charges. Some bills in dollars & some in Egypt currency. Lack of explanation in the Spa section to my wife who endured one hour in a sauna whilst I had the massage.
1. Friendly competent staff 2. Pool area and the 2 surrounding restaurants are very clean and cosy. 3. Our room was overseeing the Hatshibsut temple on the west bank.
1. Prices were a bit high but the advantages overweigh that
The location and excellent spa and spa pool with its incredible infinity Nile view!!!! What a treat
The food was fully available even though there were only 6-8 people in the entire hotel, sue to the fear of tourism.
Lovely staff lovely hotel, great food, great location on the banks of the nile, lovely pool.
Wifi was a bit annoying - with keeping having to get codes, etc. but wasn't a big deal.
