Well, to be honest, the staff of this hotel is nice, kind and helpful.
The price of this hotel is expensive depend their facilities. I booked an 4 star hostel at Hurghada with the same price. The air condition in my room is really noisy.
it was the only decently priced hotel in the city centre, so for location very good. also staff were very amiable, able to book me into a tour of Abu Simbel --- and offered me many options to fulfil my wish.
noisy, because of construction going on close to the hotel --- couldn't sleep all night, nor the following day as works continued almost non-stop. The manager talked to them and finally got them to stop at like 12pm-1am, but I had an early tour at 3am so got 2 hrs of sleep. Also, they don't have a restaurant as advertised on the website, nor a working pool at the moment (bc of construction nearby, again). Overall an ok stay, I would pick another hotel next time.
The staffs are really good. They try to help me for many things sincerely including avoiding trick from the outside locals. Good service mind. I appreciate them. Air condition is good.
Wi-fi is not working well, as well as TV.
It's advertised as having a pool but it was empty. I don't appreciate paying $40 a night for a hotel without a pool nor do I appreciate not having any wifi reception in my room. The shower basin would overflow within minutes. There were dirty Qtips on the floor. You can get a much nicer room with a Nile view at that price point at this time of year.
The staff is amazing at the hotel. I work with marriott and know good service and they were fantastic. Abdeen, Ahmed and Horsheet went above and beyond to help me and look out for my well being. Right after I checked in they helped set up a trip to Abu Simbel. They were able to get the best price possible by talking on the phone for hours to hotels in the area to get more people in one minibus (better price each person). The trip to Abu Simbel was good but the driver picked up two extra locals on the way making it 8 people and neglected to include it in our prices. We briefly mentioned this to Abdeen afterwards and he immediately called up the travel agency and driver to settle the price. Even when the driver lied and said he didn't pick up two extra people Abdeen proceeded to apologize for the driver and give us the difference in price out of his own pocket. To have this staff on your side to make sure you don't get scammed is invaluable. They really seem to care about your well being as a guest and a friend. Ahmed for example repeatedly went the extra mile to help guests in this way. He double and triple checked with British guests to make sure they weren't getting ripped off with a felucca. He even went out and purchased a water heater for some Chinese guests that were obviously getting the tourist price and was able to buy it for them for nearly a fourth of what they were originally quoted. Horsheet is a smart and interesting guy who is very friendly. Definitely sit down with him if you need a good laugh and a good conversation. The appliances in the room were also great. The fridge is cold and the a/c can get freezing which is perfect for the hot summer days. Very comfortable stay. I can't say enough about how great the service is. The best hotel for a budget conscious traveler and the best deal for your money by far in all of upper Egypt.
Some of the sheets were kind of dirty but I slept in them regardless and I was comfortable. The sheets were promptly changed the next day.
The staff was amazing. The manager helped out with everything. Amazing stay for the price. Highly recommended!
great location, just off the Corniche, beautiful big rooms, very nice and helpful staff, great roof terrace, just round the corner of my newspaperman, my favourite restaurant El Saladdin's, the souk, and all the people I needed to get to where I wanted to go
- near local market - can walk to train station and Nile river - staff friendly&helpful - you can book daily tour to Abusimble & other in Aswan at hotel
The location is perfect, the staff is great and the place is clean.. My experience was really good :)
wifi connection was not stable and the only meal available is breakfast..
The staff was very helpful. We stayed one night & they arranged transportation for us to Abo Simbel for only 85 EGP. Very recommend for those how are on budget or searching for a place to sleep and have a bath.
i stayed for one night in march 2014 in an ac room with a privat bathroom. the room was clean with simple furniture and a small balcony. wifi was good in the room (232) or the lobby. complementary breakfast (pancake, toast with butter, cheese and jam, fruitsalade, coffee/tea) served on the rooftop terrasse. a good backpacker option but a bit overpriced compared to other cities in egypt.
i didnt use the ac cause the sound was very loud.
The reception did help us arrange trips to Abu sumbul but over charged and always trying to persuade us to rent a car for a really high price. So close to a busy street where local teenagers hang out. Noisy until midnight. Charge us for the full price of our whole stay in cash before even let us to see the room!
This is a good choice for the budget traveler When you stay here it's easy to socialize with other back-packers, either during breakfast or in the reception area
Traffic noise with incessant horning
Apparently, the staff. Reasonable, knowledgeable, willing and able to help in any problem concerning your room, trips, advice, whatever.. Nice people to talk to. Yes, they do their best to renovate, but keep in mind this is an old building, which is unusual, and which has its own charm.. Nice restaurant on the roof. Managers will help you in planning and organizing your tours. Anyway, the overall atmosphere and hospitality is what make your stay here unforgettable.
Nothing for that price.
Convenient (but not attractive) location
Outside noise, unattractive interior
Good central and quiet location in a little alley. The hotel offered use of a very nice jacuzzi for free and they gave me a breakfast box when I left very early for Abu Simbel. The portier Mr. Abdeen was very helpful
Very few guests probably due to the situation in Egypt.
Good hot water, helpful staff who helped me with tips on a fair price for felucca boat rides. Close to souq market and riverfront. Decent pancake breakfast.
Corridor and lobby are dark.
The beds were comfortable, but the pillows smelled like they hadn't been washed. They have a Jacuzzi room, but only if given permission and it was a bit dirty and only half the jets worked, but at least it was a jaccuzi.
Room was rather beat, only half the lights in the room worked, and the shower was ice cold even though the heater was on.
Staffs are good, costs are affordable and location is okay.
You can't use wi-fi in your room, then room was not clean. I could see many dead mosquitoes on my bad. The air of room was also musty.
The staff....very friendly and helpful
It is situated near to the souk (bazar). They provide a good deal for the tour to Abu Simbel. The staff were very helpful. Nice breakfast.
The breakfast is ready for a bit late. The room is full of dust.
Very helpful staff and nice breakfast.
The guy at the desk was helpful in arranging transport, recommending places to eat etc. It's in a really good central location, beds were comfortable enough etc.
The hot water in my room didn't work so I had to have a cold shower. Fair enough, these things happen. I let them know but the guy who could fix it wasn't available that day, so they said they would leave the room next door to mine open so I could go in and get a warm shower in the morning. They didn't; when I got up it was locked and I got to have a cold shower for a second day. The air conditioner was very noisy; I would have switched it off and used the ceiling fan but that was stuck on top speed so was uncomfortable too.
