Standing on the Mediterranean shore in Alexandria, this 4-star hotel is in the elegant Saba Pasha district. All rooms host panoramic sea views and there are 2 gourmet restaurants to choose from.
Score from 222 reviews Good
Dating back to the early 20th century, this historic 4-star hotel is right on Alexandria’s waterfront. Breakfast can be enjoyed on the rooftop terrace with panoramic Corniche views.
Score from 210 reviews Very good
Conveniently in Alexandria’s business district and overlooking the bay and yacht club, this hotel features an elegant setting influenced by the architecture and interior design of early modernism.
Score from 102 reviews Good
Liked the Victorian feel to it. The staff was friendly and helpful. Great location and amazing views onto the old harbour.
Would appreciate a small table in the bathroom to put own toiletteries.
Location Hotel style Staff Welcoming
little modification at bathroom (water pressure) Window isolation to avoid noise from outside
This hotel is at a prime location; just a minute walk from the shore and close to all of the attractions. The staff was amazing; they helped us with any and all questions we had. They booked our bus to Cairo, helped us get a phone sim, not to mention so much more. The breakfast is TERRIFIC and the banquet room is beautiful. We even had a live singer.
The bathroom was just a bit worn out along with some of the furniture. Keep in mind that the hotel has a victorian feel to it, so the flaws kind of go with the theme. But GREAT value for money overall!
the location and the service.
the lift is old and sometimes stops for maintenance.
The service was excellent Nd staff professional and friendly. Very elegant decor, comfy bed and extensive breakfast choice.
We had a room with a view of the Med, but the traffic was noisey late into the night. The hotel provides double glazing but as it was holiday in Egypt, Alex was exceptionally busy.
I have been to many hotels but this was something else. Usually you get a welcome drink. Here you get a personal welcome tray on a cart with snacks and drinks, they treat you like royalty. Beautiful hotel with excellent service and location what else do you need?
Noise weak wifi
The old world grandeur, packed with original features, the lift is stunning. The location for the library and castle are great and the sea view is stunning.
A bit shabby chic but adds to its charm could be freshened while still retaining all the wonderful old features. The sheets I would have liked to be crisp white Egyptian cotton not pilled what felt like poly/cotton.
This hotel has a grand history and the best location if you want to experience Alexandria lifestyle. Its close to all amneties..restaurants,shops,pharmacies,clinics, markets, trams stations, taxis, horse carriages, sea, corniche and spme suites face the sea and gardens .Being central in location its easy to visit other tourist sites without having to transverse the town on each outing from the hotel( which u need to do if staying at Montazah or Maamoura area). As guests u get personal attention each and everytime u pass the reception. They are genuinely friendly. Breakfast spread was good. Most of deco and furnitures are priceless antiques. There is a resident pianist in the lobby eacj evening that we stayed here. All together its a unique experience staying here if u are often in luxury 5* hotels elsewhere...genuinely friendly staffs without the front office staffs plastic smile and the big crowd moving in and out around
The stairway carpets are old and looks dirty. Although this hotel is 112 yrs old ,the rooms are clean Suites bathroom has jacuzzi.Balcony wooden doors needs repair.
great location, spacious room, friendly staff
Great staff service Balcony view to Saad Zaghlul square and the sea Antique lift and art work Value for money
the location is amazing
تعامل الموظفين راقي جدا و دائماً مبتسمين
I really loved the hotel, it is distance from the beach is very good. Very active staff, and always there to help you! The hotel is full with the lovely spirit of history. My room was in the last floor and it was overlooking the entire Mediterranean...marvelous!
Siren, is a problem, there is a traffic junction near the hotel. it is a bit noisy if you like to open the door of the terrace
The staff was amazing- they helped us purchase bus tickets to Cairo. They always had someone to clean our room, and they fixed our problems immediately. Great attention to detail.
Ugly decor- it's Victorian style, but it seems outdated. However, that's the look of the hotel. Also, there were some ants in our room, but they immediately cleaned it and changed our room when we told them.
Very great hotel
My bill was by us dollar when I pay my bill I pay by egyptiant so the cashier give me different rate than in the market
I loved the indoor elevator ,the restaurant design ,the lobby set up . very friendly staff and welcoming snack and refreshment concept. Very Close to everything in Alexandria center and sightseeing within walking distance
Food Quality is not good.I didnt know what to have for breakfast. Bathtub required fixing. A little bit noisy on the sea view rooms. Wifi is not strong signal
The place has the fragrant of the history. The staff and the hospitality are excellent.
Nothing in Particular
Location, Historic design and friendly staff
old fixtures, noise, limited facilities and slow internet.
Not only this hotel has the best location.. but the style of its internal design makes you live in another century. It's royal hotel, every inch of it make you feel that you are living an experience somewhere else. The team there is very very nice and friendly, breakfast was perfect. The internet was fast... even the welcome fruit were fresh. I will surely come back again
staff food location clean classic
simply nothing we didnt like :D
Almost Every Thing was A-Okey
Payment was Pre-Authorized on my Visa Card, then when I Arrived @ at the Hotel, the receptionist asked me to pay using my visa card with another authorization number. That action put an amount of my credit money on hold for two weeks. The receptionist should'v proceed payment with the Pre-Authorized number, but she said she do not know how to do this, so i think she needs some training about Banking procedures.
Location And the history of the hotel
Air condition ,food,I was unable to sleep realated poor ventilation affected my breathing .I left the hotel earlier 4 days and they mak me pay moor for the 3 days
very nice sea view in down tow , and close to everything
