The hotel is the last stop on your way to the pyramids, it's that close. The facility was recently renovated and extreamly nice. During our stay very few people were there so we had the palace all to ourselves it felt like.
Location for visiting the pyramids is perfect. Staff is good. Breakfast is good as well. I got a room with pyramids view...that was great to wake up and seeing pyramids. Come on! You deserve it, it is a small difference, but it worth it. :0)
But it is a pretty shame of a good hotel without wifii free. But you can use wifii from 19:00h to mid-night from the swmming pool bar.
The location and the view was unmatched. Check in was excellent! Safety was never an issue.
The rooms appear to be wearing and need to be updated. This is a 5 star hotel but rooms are falling below a 4 star rating.
staff are very good and professional, i like to go again for their good meeting . The place is wide and silent which is good for me, and the view of the Pyramids is nice .
Old T.V in the room , not a LCD
location is wonderful. the hotel itself possesses the grandeur of decades and centuries gone past - a colourful and storied history.
standards have slipped, sadly. the service varies between obsequious over-attentiveness to forgetfulness (I asked three times for a coffee cup, and only on the fourth try was it delivered.)
Historical atmosphere Luxury furniture and bedroom Friendly Helpful staff Everything was wonderful
This place was magical and will make sure to get there again! Everyone was so nice and made us feel as comfortable as possible. The host at the outside restaurant Ahmed was great and made our stay there that much better!!
Yes, the location is great and the pool area is very good - especially with fewer visitors to the country. Breakfast is excellent and the staff were first class at all times. However....
The concrete path from Reception to the garden block is in very poor condition, a danger to adult and child alike. The lifts in that block badly need repainting and cleaning. Room service 1 hour and 30 minutes, minimum. Not saying hotel is bad - but it sure isn't as good as some of the reviews suggest. Movenpick next time.
I spent the last 4 days of my honeymoon at Mena House and have nothing to say but great things. Staff are perfect, restaurants fiid and service are impeccable. Safe day trips to see egypt are available. I highly recommend it.
Paid Wifi, and guest parking ...!!!???
If you are into history and an excellent location close to the pyramids, this would be the place to stay.
Hi pollution levels (not the fault of the hotel itself) made it very difficult to see the pyramids in the morning. It cleared as the day went on.
the proximity to the pyramids' entrance is an obvious bonus for walkers and, as tourists are down, so too are the hustling camel drivers - easy to extend the "srandard" 2 hour tour to 5 hours staring at 8am. The outdoer pool is excellent and adjacent restaurant food is not bad
the central airconditioning plant is right above of the 4th floor of the "pyamid view" rooms and is in extremely poor condition, rumbling and thundering away. I had room 462 and all adjacent rooms were affected too. Turning your room airconditioning off changes nothing. Changing rooms to a lower floor and you get "old style" rooms. Let's hope tourism picks up soon so ath the hotel can be refreshed
The room was spotless, the food (pizza), drinks & service at the poolside were excellent. Service everywhere was exceptional.
the cleanliness of most of the public toilets, really a disgrace - had to speak to management on 3 occasions. Very disappointing, & disturbing.
Can't ask for a better location! Right at the entrance to the pyramids. This hotel is stunning (it was once a palace), beautiful decor and design work. Lovely and professional staff who were always willing to assist. Luxurious, clean rooms, and a fantastic pool. Excellent value for money (i suspect the low prices is due to the current lack of tourism in Egypt). My only real complaint is the food, but I would still stay here again just for the stunning location and views.
Internet connection is a bit expensive, and only available through ethernet cable connection in the rooms (no wifi), so made it a bit difficult if you don't have a laptop and just want to use your phone or tablet. The food is very average, which is a shame for such a lovely high rated hotel. We ate at Khan el Khalili and the Moghul restaurant a few times and were dissatisfied with pretty much every meal.
There should be more care about the hotel as it is historic and can bring more attraction and there should be free wifl
the bar - the barmen were relaxed, provided good service, were personable. the location - literally on the edge of the pyramids.
everything else (pretty much)
Location. View. 139 restaurant. Pool
Some of the Breakfast staff were so rude. We ordered a baby cot more than 5 times from the time of check in and it only arrived at 1 am When we called the reception and the line get disconnected. They didn't call us back to see what we want.
No cups in the room
Excellent location, very nice pool , the new resturant 391 with pyramid view is extremely wonderful
View and pool
The food and service at the fountain resturant "mashwayat resturant"
location, food, pool, staff
a bit noisy on the pool as the street is close by
