Set against the backdrop of desert and mountains, Sharm el Sheikh is a year-round Red Sea diving and beach resort. Although based on an existing village, it is very much a purpose-built holiday town, with lots of international brands of hotel, restaurant and bar lining its sandy shores.
The oldest part surrounds the Old Market, a heady mix of shisha and spices, roughly in the middle of the Naama Bay and Um el Sid suburbs. The other Sharm districts of Shark’s Bay and Nabq Bay are along the coast by Sharm el Sheikh Airport.
The Red Sea offers some of the world’s best dive spots with rich underwater life on the deep reefs of the amazing Ras Mohammed National Park. Other watersports include windsurfing, kayaking or banana boating, and the Cleopark waterpark has flumes, pools and rapids.
Other things to do include shopping at Il Mercato mall and the many souvenir stalls, karting at Ghibli Raceway, or watching a show at the Arabian-styled Alf Leila Wa Leila. Outside town you can go horse or camel riding in the desert, and visit a Bedouin village or St Catherine’s Monastery in the Sinai peninsula hills.
The Sharm el Sheikh accommodation on Booking.com covers everything from 5-star holiday resorts to all-inclusive hotels with pools, and cheap apartments.

Lovely place but only accessible beaches were owned by hotels and limited to their guests. Can get pestered by touts outside hotel and taxis will try and rip you off. Nice places to eat outside hotel are Mon Rev just across the road from Amwaj and German Bakery 5 minute walk. Drinkies has alcohol at good prices. El Ezabee pharmacy has good range and at Egyptian prices. Sinai clinic very good for medical treatment and is just across the road from Amwaj.

I recently encountered some concerning situations during my travels, and I want to share my experiences to help you stay vigilant. Here are some important points to keep in mind:
Airport Scammers: At the airport, be cautious of individuals offering to assist with paperwork related to immigration. These scammers may approach you, promising to expedite the process by stamping the back side of your immigration paper. They’ll ask for a fee (around $20) for their services. Do not fall for this! You do not need their help. Stick to the official procedures.
Visa on Arrival: When arriving in a foreign country, check if they offer a visa on arrival. Most airports provide this service, and it’s straightforward. No additional assistance is required. Avoid unnecessary payments to strangers.
Immigration Check: Upon reaching immigration, be aware that the police may scrutinize your documents. Scammers and immigration officers might have connections. At somepoint, the officer make you to tip them. They even, asked about my wallet, asked to show it. It's hard to explain the situation.
Language Confusion: Some immigration officers intentionally mix local language with English to confuse travelers. The intension is to get some tips from international travellers. Stay alert and take your time to understand. If something seems off, politely ask for clarification.
Taxi Fare Negotiation: In the city, taxis can be expensive. A fair rate for a taxi ride should not exceed 400 Egyptian pounds. Be cautious of drivers who try to overcharge you. Additionally, some taxi drivers may offer to exchange dollars for Egyptian pounds varying from 45 to 60.
Tourist Traps: Finally, be aware of tourist traps. Research common scams in the area you’re visiting. Stay informed and protect yourself from unnecessary expenses or unsafe situations.

I'm not sure if it is because it was January and possibly low season but most places were deserted. I couldn't believe it. However, the people who were about were not the nicest to black female tourists. There was no violence but a lot of catcalling names like Uncle Ben, Coca Cola and Nicki Minaj. We were also clearly treated different to others.
The desert safari was so poorly organised, it is not worth going on. The Old Market has no true culture as it is just built for tourists but does have a beautiful mosque and waterfall area. The King Tut Museum is in a deserted mall and full of fake relics, so fake that you can touch them and even the ones in glass boxes had fallen off the plints but nobody cared.
Soho square was lovely in the evening though again most of the shops are full of the same inauthentic tourist stuff. One shopkeeper even sid all the shops sell the same thing.

Very much a 5 star hotel. Well maintained. All the greenery is pristine. The pools are cleaned daily. Can see beautiful fish when snorkling at the private beach. There's a pool bar and beach bar with unlimited drinks including coffee, fruit juices and slushy. The staff were friendly and helpful. Room was big and the bed was comfortable. The laundry service was decently priced for us third world country currency holders. The food was delicious and well prepared, with some live stations for pasta, drop doughnuts and battered fish.
staff all around the hotel, in all positions - are great and helpful. speak many languages (english, hebrew, russian and even some german & italian.
spacious hotel with 3 pools, great sandy beach and amazing coral reef right of the beach.
spa facilities and treatments were very nice - especially the hamam treatment - recommended.
very comfortable bed and pillows.
all inclusive including food around the clock, water, drinks and alcohol. pool bar pizza is great
Wow, this place is paradise. You are looked after by the attentive staff the moment you arrive. The hotel is immaculate, the food is great and the staff are exceptional. I’ve never been to an all inclusive before and being vegetarian I was concerned I’d be limited, but there is an excellent choice of good food and drink. Ahmed aka ‘Alex’ who serves you drinks all day at the pool deserves a special mention. Thank you Alex, from your friends from the UK x
The hotel was amazing facilities food animation team lovely
The manger Mr amr and Mr Mahmoud so profficional and helpful
Very quickly check in
Location and view amazing the hotel is huge many things to do no need to go outside
Kids area and kids club was fantastic
Swimming pools and aqua park was great
Many variety of restaurants under booking categories all inclusive all for free and drinks and coffee was good Italian taste
Food was good and variable, staff were great ,beds were soooooo poor and uncomfortable, room furniture is old and not a 5 stars furniture .pool area needs renovation ,restaurant by the beach is not allowed for regular guests, the salt lake is also not allowed for regular guests, and the big golf cars are only for D club ,which is very disappointing because it wasn't mentioned in hotel information during the reservation process 😑
Large and well maintained territory.
Rooms are not ideal, but not in bad condition.
Many swimming pools, few of them are with heating.
Not bad Aquapark. During the day you are allowed to use also Albatross Aqua Park hotel territory.
Good all inclusive food, with different kind of meals. Pastry and sweets are wonderful.
Regular bus shuttle to the beach.
Beautiful live coral reef behind the hotel beach.
People is what makes this place really nice. Wonderful staff, very attentive, friendly and helpful. Facilities are a bit tired, but there is still this « grand » fabric of Hyatt which you won’t see in the hotels of similar pricing. Nice beach restaurant with good food and reasonably priced. If you don’t plan on over eating and over drinking - best to choose not all inclusive and dine a-la-carte
The hotel has a 5 star luxury feel, the staff are all so welcoming, nothing is too much from the reception to the housekeeping all offer that exceptional service.
The food was such a good verity and easy to access. 10/10
Animation team produced good shows for both adults and children.
The hotel is spotless with such cosy rooms.
we cannot wait to stay here again.
They charge us 400 USD per room addition .they changed us for the new year party despite my protest that it is not in our booking .I filed a claim but in vain .The manager did not react as expected from such 5 star hotel management as Savoy.I am very disappointed from this behaviour .
Nice hotel with nice view, near sea side. We had a room with beach front which was amazing. Hamada from reception was very helpful and lovely. Very big hotel with a lot of people and good entertainment. A lot of restaurants and all available with all inclusive option.
one of the best hotels I stayed. great service, friendly staff. despite being a huge hotel they make you feel unique … great facilities, plenty of options for food and drinks (all inclusive). truly a gem. will come back soon!
The hotel is very quiet and the service is very good
