The hotel is well located and offers several facilities. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and clean and features cable TV and freezer. No problem with noise or the air conditioned. Everyone must pass through a metal detection frame in order to enter the hotel even though both the city and the country don't seem to be dangerous. I did not use the pool but the gym and the sauna are fair enough. The breakfast and the lunch buffet are very good. The sweets and the patisserie are the best. The stairs for fire escape must be improved. The services offered by the travel agency that works inside the hotel are too pricy.

Large and nice wide room with balcony. The position is good and all the main touristic sights are close (apx. 15 minutes by taxi). Breakfast with a wide range of fine selection. The hotel saff is helpfull, kind and always ready to support you in all the way. Walking distance from the Nile riverbank. The area around the hotel looks saefty and it's well protected by the local police. Good value for price, next time I'll be in Cairo I will definitly go to the Safir again. The two restaurant inside the hotel (asian and european) are very expensive compared to the rest of the local restaurant. There's no wi fi inside the room and if you want to surf on the internet you have to pay an extra charge (wire connection). Free wi fi connection runs only in the lobby but unfourtunatly during my stay it wasn't working well.

We went to Egypt to visit our son who lives a few doors away. Perfect location for us. I had requested a non smoking room and we were put in a smoking room. They did change the room for us upon request but even in the non smoking room, the towels smelled like cigarette smoke.

Staff was extremely helpful. They made sure all our needs were not only met, but exceeded. One of the staff members, Ayman, was so amazing, that he went above and beyond his job role to ensure that we didn't have any issues with getting around the city to see all the sights during our stay. I would also recommend the breakfast buffet to be added to your stay. The wifi could only be accessed from the lobby café. Would have preferred access in our room.

Staff were very nice and friendly. Room was clean and spacious. The dirty carpets mentioned in other review isn't as bad as the reviews make out. Room has Satellite TV with over 40 channels. The hotel has two cafes and three restaurants. Prices within restaurants are expensive (same price as back home). Overall, nicely maintained hotel. If your looking for City Trip, the hotel is in the centre of all attractions with the Nile and Museum 5 mins away by taxi and other sites like the Khan El Khalili Market, City Stars (Shopping Complex) and Giza Pyramids around 30-45 mins away by taxi (White taxis are best and can be flagged down on main roads...ask for the meter to be used and your fares will be considerably cheaper) Nothing much in Surrounding area, handful of restaurants near hotel. Pool heating was switched off. Tried swimming close to sunset...and froze my but off. No Wifi in Room...Only Wired Internet which is around £15 a day (if used). Alternatively you'll find Wifi in the Lobby, slow but usable)
