Dear Sunrise Team! Thank you for amazing holidays and as well our honey moon in our second home! We enjoyed every single minute from the arriving until we had to leave! Everything was fantastic! We go such a nice room. Thank you for this to a real and special friend Mr. Hashem Lotfy. We would like to thank our friends in Pergola Bar Sameh and Omar and Ahmed for a very special and professional service. We could really feel that they do them job not only as a job - they do it from heart and made every evening very lovely for us. Very special thanks also to the amazing animation team who made our holidays more than fabolous. Osama as a great leader of the animation team and as well Brown and Gazal, Zidan, Silvia and for sure our friend Mr. AHA (Kimo). A special thanks to all the great staff in the á la carte restaurants which were all really amazing. We really enjoyed our holidays and we will be back again in our second home as soon as possible.

The beach and the pool were the best, staff were friendly and trying to do their best
The food was rubbish, it is not fresh at all and tasteless, we were vomiting for four days, it's a big variety but a very bad quality, there were many cockroach in the room, matress was not comfortable at all
every day staff checked that all was okay and very quickly resolved any issues. seemed very genuine in their attempts for you to have the best possible holiday
big issue of sun beds around the pools. Towels not returned previous night therefore from 5.30am all beds were taken but people did not show up for hours and somethimes into the afternoon. Some staff encouraged this by keeping beds for "selected" clients....!!!!
Great place to holiday with the kids and to go diving. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
It wasnt easy to sit a family of 8 at the breakfast and lunch tables .. and meal time is a real family time for us.

Food and beverage is completely disaster. Wifi is a big problem. For shopping please go outside of the hotel.The hotel is expensive.
The beach and swimming pool
First of all when we checked in they had not given us the pool view room that we booked .then,after we contacted head of customer service! She was cooperative and promised to change the room which was garden view and doesn't fit atall 5 star room.it was lacking the cleanliness and maintainence.the tv is not LCD as they advertised for.it was old badly functioning tv. Secondly, most of staff don't respect Egyptians relative to all other nationalities!! I don't know why I have payed as much as any one and it is considered the most annoying thing ever.for example, all the dining tables outside the main restaurant (shahrazad) were short of cutlery and when I asked a waiter to get me a spoon he told me go and get it from inside here we don't have .?? The next day I saw him getting spoons for English couple .there is some racial discrimination against Egyptians

I visited several resorts and hotels in red sea in Hurghada and on every one we end with issues, I just came back from Sunrise Select Royal Makadi me and my family spent one week there and I have to say it's outstanding, excellent food something for every taste even the kids they have special corner full of food just for them, the beach very cleansea water very cristal and so clean, the hotel looks fully booked to me and the staff serving us as if we are the only people there, we got two rooms and always clean and new towels every day, reception staff very helpful on my booking I asked for room near the beach for problem with my walk and kindly they gave me room few steps to the beach and the restaurant. I never ever seen this outstanding quality in Red Sea I wish the managment knows what they are doing and keep it up, good job they deserve the credit to keep Sunrise Select Royal Makadi on top quality, great place, we will go again for sure.

I liked the location, the cleanliness of rooms. The reeption staff and the VIP pol bar staff is reylly friendly. The management is also very polite and tries do to in the guests favour. Thanks for Salah, the night manager for the perfect booking.
It was our second visit since 5 years. The facilities show a sign of wear. Also the rooms. It is not good to have a beer from a sratchy plastic glass that is in use for years on and on. The food variety is very repetitive. Seabass filet and mackerel fish, + grilled chicken and beef. The Pergola bar staff is very bored and not helpful.

The reception guys from the afternoon/nightshift were so good that they made sure that my dad, who was booking a private room, to get his room near ours. Ibrahim Lotfy, the front office manager was very friendly, and shockingly remembered the name of each guest! I have worked in the hotel management field myself and never saw anyone who memorize the names and faces of the guests. But not only did he do that, but the nightshift people did that as well (Sayed and Tolba). All the waiters were very friendly in almost all restaurants, the italian/T-bones' waiters and employees should have a repeated training session though , especially on their soft skills. The Badouin and Dalila restaurant were perfect, their food is spot on. All in all it was a great trip that we really would like to repeat, we, and especially our daughter, miss the team already a lot :) Tip to management if they read the comment: - Change the description of the hotel by adding German as a supported language, all the staff speaks German. - Mention that there is a 24/7 ATM machine at the hotel - Add MasterCard as a supported card type. - Pay more attention to details such as cracks and missing big pebbles on the sidewalks, overly tired kranky employees at times should be given a time off rather than be yelled at in front of customers. This is the first hotel where I get more than what I bargained for!
In my previous review I mentioned the disaster of the bellboy morning check out issue, I wish our check out was at night time because then Sayed and Tolba (the night shift receptionists) wouldn't have allowed such things to happen. Tip to everyone going there: AVOID BLUE WAVES. They are unprofessional, disrespectful, and do not respect privacy. We were promised a trip where we can have a BBQ at the island, snorkel and swim with dolphins, in addition to private rooms on a big boat throughout the day trip. Instead we had some fried food on a tiny boat where we had to sit outside the whole time, which is bad when you have a 4 year old kid and go unprepared to the boat, the tour guide, Montaser, was very unprofessional. He spoke to the russian part of the trousits for hours, then barely for 10 minutes to the English/German speaking ones. He did not even explain the things fully. And when we reached the snorkeling point, he just jumped down and swam far very fast, then expected everyone else to follow him. We couldnt swim that fast since our daughter is with us, he kept insulting us and calling us lazy. The photographer was taking pictures of everyone, and promised to sell personalized CDs to everyone, whereas no one gets pictures of my daughter or wife, and we dont get those of others. By the time we picked up the CD , all pictures were merged, which was quite frustrating. I spoke to the Front Office manager about this, he promised to do something about it, but never got back to me. All in all, avoid the blue waves, go with PDL (the diving team), they offer the same trips, but with much more fun, better treatment and much more professional. They even offer snorkling for those who prefer not to dive.
The good treatment started before we even arrived at the hotel. One day earlier while packing, I called the reception, Sayed picked up and gave us the information on the Laundry and the relevant details, he was even so nice as to scan the pricelist and send it! We arrived late at night, the reception employees were just perfect, they took the bags from us, we filled the initial form then were given our bracelets and were invited to go eat before even paying a dime! The trust treatment really goes a long way and makes you feel at home, Tolba from the reception team was an exceptional person and employee!. While we were eating they finalized things for us, we just came back , they sent us with a "golf cart" or whatever its name is with the bellboy and the bags were in the amazing room. Great room, very comfortable, always clean, the cleaning guy Lotfi was very nice. The beds were very comfortable, the only issue was that the sun was coming from under the curtains, which were a bit too short, causing the person sleeping on the side of the balcony wake up at sunrise, which is a bit annoying. The pool view at night is great! Once at the pool or beach, the sales people will pass by and try to sell you items, let them explain and see their brochures, some trips are really worth it. We met with Osama the sales guy from PDL (Professional Diving Leadership) who sold us a 1 day boat trip with 2 dives included. The diving team was so good and professional that we decided to go a second time, and I got my diving certificate from them! Khaled and Karim were quite exceptional and offered a great service! Some sales people are bad and liars, such as Abdallah from Blue Waves, he promised us a trip but sold us something else, we found out that several people on the boat of the blue waves were frustrated as well. But this goes in the negative section.
The dayshift staff (7 to 11 am) at the reception is disastrous. We passed by several times and got a very bad treatment where they just did not feel like talking or helping out. I went there to buy internet access, the first guy was trying to focus with me, answer the phone, talk to his colleague and fill the forms, I found this multitasking too disrespectful but kept my mouth shut. Then halfway through, his colleague came so he "delegated" me to him, like I am a bag sitting somewhere. Anyway, the second receptionist is now filling me the form (username and password ffs!) and all of a suden he stopped to chit chat with the first guy, took from him some bracelets and started sorting them in the drawer!!! I snapped there and told him I dont have all day to waste on them, so he just filled it quickly and gave it to me. Second incident was at check out where I called reception at 7 am (as advised by them the day before) to have the bags picked up at 7:30. Then when no one came at 7:35 I called again, he said that the guy is in the cart and on the way, I waited till 7:45, still no one, I called, he told me that the guy has many people in my building and is collecting all bags, at 8 when no one came (taxi was to leave at 8:30 and we wanted to eat b reakfast before leaving), I called again and asked if the bellboy has a key, the guy at the receptionist said that he does and that i can go eat. We had a quick breakfast and went to the reception at 8:20, still no bags! I started yelling so they called the bellboy and sent him only then! The bellboy then came back for the key since he didnt have any and finally the bags got to the reception at 8:30 , one hour later than promised. The worst part was that the bellboy was sleeping the whole time, no one was checking out and the receptionist was lying to me since 7, which I found very disrespectful.
