As such. Nothing! the place was more than just perfect for me.
Why I'm saying this? because I travelled with a friend, who stayed in a 3-Star Resort in Alexandria near Montazah Palace (I won't disclose the name). He was crying at the end, for spending 4X the money I spent and still he barely got any good service.
1. Busy street with Tram station near by.
This isn't a negative for me, because I loved it, in fact, to me it was a facility.
But if you're a quite sleeper, or wants to wake up late in morning. Either take a more quite room at Transit or use ear plugs, because the traffic and Tram will wake you up around 6:30-7am no matter how deep you sleep.
To me it was a facility, because I don't wake up easily, and the noise from the street and Tram...hahaha, I just had to put myself out of bed. This helped me keeping my schedule tight, catch my Bus, and eventually my flight on time.
2. Location, is a little hard to explain to the Taxi/Cab only for the first time, specially if you don't know Arabic. So if you're travelling there first time, and don't know Arabic, I'll suggest that you do a little home work first, call Transit, understand the address (Adham and Khaled speeks perfect English, so don't worry.) btw its called Mehtete-El-Ramal (Ramal Station), from there the hotel is 2 block away.
Don't get confused if you don't find the board. its a old antique type building, and it has many things in it, so there is a very small board. the hotel itself is on 4th floor, there is elevator, so don't worry. But the elevator itself is an experience ;) enjoy it. Don't worry its old, but very safe.
i. Helpful, Generous, Family like Staff, Khaled and Adham. They speak perfect English, so don't worry if you don't know Arabic. They'll actually help you learn some ;)
ii. Location: Most of the site seeing, landmarks, famous places etc. are like 5-10mins distance (if you travel via mini-van), van stop it self is like 2 mins walking distance. Tram Station 2 mins walking. Mobile market, shopping markets, food, its all just 2-5 mins walking distance only.
iii. If you're a traveler, you'll be spending most of the time outside your hotel, so if you're looking for a decent inexpensive place to sleep, with all the basic facilities, more than just amazing, generous, friendly and helpful staff (Adham and Khaled).
iv. Water heater in Toilet, it gives you amazing hot water for shower etc. in like 15mins, just plug in before using it. it also keep the water hot for over 24 hours.
v. Transit has all the basic facilities you need as a traveler, except the pool, which is useless if you're travelling in winter, because even the 3 start hotels in Alexandria, you won't find temp. control pools. If you ask me, I value the service more than the facilities, because even if the world's best facilities are provided with pathetic service you wouldn't like it. But when basic facilities are provided with a smile and hospitality, it becomes the best.
v. If you're the kind of person who likes comfy, beautiful room, wants to visit the city just from the hotel window, fancy breakfast, have plenty of money to spend on unnecessary things which are listed in 3/5 star hotel's brochure, which you can barely avail in your 2-3nights stay...Transit isn't a place for you.
