Location. Good price. We found reception staff quite cold and unfriendly: I arrived on Friday 10th soaked due to a thunderstorm and yet receptionist continued phone call as I stood there dripping wet.

Definitely good value for your money. We booked just a standard room but it was a split level room so had a decent amount of space. Decor was simple but modern. Bathroom was big (especially for europe) and modern. Location is said to be in the 'seedy' area of barcelona but to be honest, it's absolutely fine. Yes it an area where alot of migrants reside but so what? That doesn't make them criminals. We actually thought it was a great location as it was walking distance to las ramblas, barrio gotic, la mercat de boqueria etc. one warning: make sure you secure a room at the back of the hotel. Our room was at the front of the hotel, and yes you get a little balcony, but at night the pedestrian street that the hotel is located on is so extremely noisy. It seriously sounded like the people were in our room!! However, if you can get a room at the back of the hotel we think that this hotel is extremely good value for the price that you pay.

Great location, very close to the ramblas and bus routes. Easy to get to shops and restaurants, all just a short walk away. Rooms are clean and comfortable, staff friendly and helpful. Expected to have problems with locals sitting around the hotel area after reading some reviews, but had no problems. The hotel is on a back street so access not so good, and had some building noise during the day, but this always stopped before six pm.

We liked this hotel very much. It was extremely clean and while not extremely spacious, had enough room for a comfortable double bed and a good-sized bathroom with space to change and move around. Nice closets, in-room electronic safe, small flat-screen tv with decent channel selection. The staff were nice and answered questions. We were able to get early check-in after asking ahead with no issues. It was also near the Ramblas action (5-10 min walk) without being right on it. Neighborhood never felt unsafe, quite a few bars and grocery stores on street. No street noise in our room. Walls thin and could hear vacuuming from housekeeping in other rooms during siesta time. Shower leaked slightly but not significantly.

The price was great! 188.00 usd for 2 nights. Clean, spacious for a european hotel, cold a/C., Friendly staff, breakfast available for purchase for 9 euros., 5 min walk to las ramblas, elevator, hot water! Too good to be true. I also arrived at 10 am, and they were so kind to allow ms to check in at no extra charge! And was very modern as well. The bed was a little hard and thin mattress for my preference, but it was ok to sleep there for several days.

Good and safe location..The stuff were nice and helpful..the room was clean and the price was reasonable....I enjoyed my stay there =) The room was tiny...some times we couldn't move

Very nice and modern rooms close to a metro in the city center. Free wireless internet plus a computer in the lobby that can be used by guests as needed. Staff was helpful and spoke good english but not over the top friendly. The area outside the hotel is a little shady and I would not recommend it to anyone that has not been to Barcelona before and definitely not to any single women. While I did not feel threatened at all, it's not the best location if you are out late at night since there are a lot of people "hanging out" in the street.

Room was very clean and the staff was very polite and helpful. Also free wi-fi in the hotel was useful for planning daily program for us. Location of the hotel is very good. Two minutes walk to universitat metro station. 15 minutes walk to placa catalunya and la ramblas. There were no security problems we usually left our laptops in hotel room and nothing happened. Also there was a safety box in the room. The room was very small. It was nearly imposibble for two person standing up at the same time.

The hotel is close to the ramblas and to placa catalunia, like a 15 min walk. The aerobus from the airport can drop you in universita and that is closest to the hotel. The room was small but being a last time booking and only for one person was just what i needed. Is looks very much like the pictures, it is newly refurbished, clean and simple. Breakfast is not included but very cheap, and there good options on the street. I had a nice stay and would recomend this hotel.

Acta Bcn 40 is a well designed hotel which is located in an area with all amneties. The rooms are well mantained and the staff is very friendly. What is needed, is to improve the check in times and departure times of the rooms. On the whole our holiday was excellent and the hotel played an important role. Thanks to the all the staff and keep up the good work guys.

It's right in the middle of lively Barcelona. People everywhere (not only tourists). Quite stylish. Good cheap breakfast & working, free wifi. Small room (double economy).

The location is good, right in the city centre. The room is nice, good bathroom and service. Really good value for money. Though we had a balcony the view from the balcony was on the wall in front of us.

I was very dissatisfied. The room was noisy. The pictures are taken in a way to trick you into thinking the rooms large and its tiny. Water temp is shared so your shower goes from mildly hot to scalding. Staff is unprofessional and not knowledgeable or helpful. The location is perfect if you'r ea gangster. I wouldn't walk around the place past 8 o'clock. Someone tried to sell me drugs right outside...

It is a beautiful hotel, very clean sleek modern design. Breakfast was deliciopus. Centrally locatedan close to all attractions. We will recommend this hotel to everyone we know. Thumbs up to the Acta bcn 40.
