Had to go home
We stayed in the Tigor Villa's on this stay as children not with us .. so peaceful and wonderful pool service from Julius! This is our third stay, once in the main hotel, once in the Mirador Villas and this time the Tigor. Own buggy is essential really to enjoy your villa stay. We also understood how the restaurants work this time and always book key restaurants in advance of your stay especially in the busy holiday periods. El Mirador for breakfast and dinner ... views are amazing and food equally so. Wonderful stay a real treat .. back next year!
On previous visit after the October half term they shut the main restaurant and this was not communicated properly ... pre booking restaurants is essential you should not have to queue in a hotel of this standard!
The atmosphere was incredible and the choice of pools, restaurants, leisure facilities, shops and environment was again without equal. Friendly, helpful and polite staff, world class facilities, would stay again. Lovely buggy and train service to the beach and nice touches everywhere.
At times service could be slower than you would expect and where a bit inflexible on the late checkout having already spent an incredible amount of money. The Wi-fi could also do with a bit of a revamp, whilst mainly good, reception was patchy in bits and speed was not what it could have been.
Staff go out of their way to provide the best service I've ever received- nothing was too much trouble. They were warm and welcoming. This was our 2nd time this year- we will be back! Love it!
Amazing beach - worth visiting
There is no ATM at all in this hotel. Restraunt is expensive - better to take taxi to visit Las Americas, there are lots of nice restaurants with reasoable prices.
Loved the staff.....Sergio at the Persian garden pool was amazing....abi at the reception bar was so lovely and those two would make us return....
The reception bar manager shouted at his staff continuously to the point where we just stopped going. If I worked for him I would have left, very awkward. Unfortunately, because you are in a captive audience, a marketing director and an f and b director somewhere have decided that it is acceptable to charge 5 euros for 250ml of soft drink in peak season, a minimum of 125 euros for 2 to dine in a restaurant of an evening or mediocre at best food. We would have paid double if the value was there, but having simple food for fine dining prices is nacceptable. We are self evidently paying the bank back for the building costs as its only 9 years old and there is no way they were likely to generate an roic over 5 ..... Made all the hard work the staff did seem a total waste....pampa in particular was totally appalling, 90 euros for 2 steaks and 2 glasses of wine, with burnt vegetables and nothing had been deseeded......complained and they old me they woul take money off my bill, what do you think the did? Nothing....
Very attractive complex, lovely room with huge terrace with stunning sea views and a good choice of restaurants, plus efficient transport to various locations. Staff extremely helpful.
allowing use of mobile phones in what should be relaxing area by adult only pool
Friendly staff, lovely rooms, clean & good facilities
The very high prices for everything. Limited supply of drinking water - one bottle per day or pay 3 - 5 euros We found having to pay 1.50€ for coffee capsules for the room very petty - surely this can be provided for free. As a result of the very high prices we left ate way from the hotel on several occasions - if they had been more reasonable we would have stayed there for all our meals. the cost of airport transfer provided by the hotel was a lot more expensive than booking a separate private company - we booked a separate private company for our transfer!
Spent 10 days with my wife and our 2 years old baby, our stay was more than excellent, the staff were very professional, always willing to help making our stay as comfortable and pleasant as it can be (Special thank you to the wonderful Judith at the F&B facilities and Aday at the pool). Special attention to the kids, most of the staff speaks perfect english and/or french witch makes communication very fluid. The rooms and facilities are perfect, apart from the multiple pools available and the private beach (nice cosy white send beach) many activities are available for kids and adults. The breakfast buffet is excellent with a lot of varaities and a daily chef suggestion witch make it less annoying than usual hotel breakfasts. Our Baby girl adored the main pool that is designed to cater for all ages, the train was fun (that stops next to all the facilities at the hotel), and the kids club, even though more activities are available for older kids (4 y/o and more). The many available restaurants are nice that gives a wide choice of cuisine at different settings, witch is very appreciated if you want to spend more time at the hotel relaxing than moving around. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary during our stay and the staff noted the day and we had a lovely surprise from the hotel.
Nothing major to mention, if any: Internet is slow and connection is not user friendly (need many times to log on during one session). For those who are looking for an hotel with all attractions at a walking distance the location is not ideal
Great facilities and location. Choice of restaurants
Food too expensive. The breakfast restaurant is like a big canteen.
The beach and the pool area are beautiful. The rooms are spacious and nice. The staff were friendly and sweet to the kids. I especially like the beach staff who couldn't do more for us
The area is a little isolated. There was a lot of flies. The kids menu was the same in every restaurant.
Tagor Villas excellent housekeeping/quiet pool and pool service. MB and Kabuki restaurants very good with good service but expensive. Mirador food good but service poor - even at breakfast which is for Tagor Villa guests only.
All other restaurants service poor and food unexceptional. Nothing within walking distance - bit remote. Playa San Juan short taxi ride away but not much there.
everything was excellent .
The service was excellent. The hotel and grounds are beautiful with lovely views. Room very spacious and bed was extremely comfortable!
No where nearby to walk to so you either stay in hotel or pay €20+ for a taxi. Hotel drink prices are expensive.
Relaxed, pleasant location. All staff are very attentive. In my view the Abama is the best hotel in Tenerife.
Wi-fi could be improved.
Great hotel. Wonderful service, food and facilities. Probably, best holiday hotel in Spain.
Wi-Fi speed could be faster.
Kids Club excellent Food good Very friendly staff Good facilities Shuttle bus service
Phone switchboard slow and totally disorganised Spa and sauna facilities should be included in price Food, esp. room service, overpriced
Everything, the hotel is beautiful with excellent facilities. Staff were very good and helpful. The whole experience had the wow factor, and the room rate was good value for money. The Verona restaurant food was fabulous. Golf is amazing.
No issues at all, but would advise to watch alcohol prices - can be steep for cocktails and spirits.
We were lucky with an upgrade to a villa we were extremely well looked after by very attentive and friendly staff nothing was too much trouble we liked travelling on buggies we loved the pools in fact we really cannot fault our stay.
The staff couldn't do enough to help. Very impressive!
Everything. The Staff went out of there way to help with anything. I agree with Alan from Bristol.
Ran out of Bells Whiskey and too much Emphasis on Spanish wine on the wine list and only one bottle of Chilean wine in the whole Hotel.
Very good and nice rooms, helpful and friendly personnel.
Broken elevator to the beach, owful New Year show and too high prices.
A fabulous location, well designed in a beautiful setting. The room was spacious, clean and well designed. The girl on he front desk was very helpful.
We arrived at about 1100 hrs and then made our way to the Mirador restaurant, where we ordered lunch. Our lunch was cold when served so we sent it back. The replacement lunch was left on the bar and we had to ask for it to be served. It was also cold and therefore it was returned for a second time. We ate at the Argentinian restaurant in the evening and ordered a mixed grill for two. The sausage, when dissected was raw. When this was brought to the attention of the staff and all we received was a shrug if the shoulder. Service was very slow and staff appeared had little or no interest. When checking out the following morning we brought our experiences to the attention of the front desk, who then involved a duty manager. Whilst he thanked us for reporting these incidents, he offered no compensation. This visit was intended as a treat for my wife on a special birthday and we expected considerably more from Ritz Carlton. What a let down
