Set in Tenerife’s Guía de Isora, this complex overlooks the Atlantic Ocean and neighboring island of Gomera. It has 9 outdoor pools and a spa, golf course, tennis courts and a beach. Abama Golf and Spa Resort is made up of Moorish-inspired pink buildings housing guest rooms and villas. The resort is set in lush tropical grounds on a cliff top, with a cable car train down to the private beach. Each room and villa has an ethnic style, and most enjoy views of the grounds, golf course and Atlantic Ocean. All come with luxury marble bathrooms. They have interactive TVs, with internet access, and there are pillow menus and Egyptian cotton bed linens. The Abama offers 10 places to eat and drink. Wonderful luxury - at a price. Well laid out with lots of space and extremely helpful staff. Good restaurants and superb pool facilities. Charging for wifi use in this day and age is a really cheap shot. This is a basic requirement like having towels in the bathroom.

We stayed for 5 nights and our overall view is that it is a wonderful hotel. We arrived Tuesday before Easter and the hotel began to fill up to what seemed capacity over the next few days. The rooms and quality of service was first class, highly attentive and responsive staff. We had a few minor breakfast dining gripes, but that given the busy circumstances we won’t detail them, but they did leave us with a negative impression of this service. On our last day at the pool side, we had to wait 45 minutes for drinks after placing the order and the same for lunch – not what you expect for a 5 star resort. We had a missing drink that came after a reminder, but the coke has an ice cube in it that contained a chip (French fry). We complained to management who apologised and didn’t charge us for the meals or drinks at the poolside. Why cant they just hire the correct number of staff to meet or exceed customer expectations at all times, busy or not? This is what seems to be the issue here and through the other reviews I have seen.

My husband and I stayed at the Abama Golf and Spa Resort for 4 nights in late February. We found our room, bathroom, and terrace (deluxe double with sea view) all to be very nice and spacious. Many dining options with a nice variety. We chose dinner at Pampa Verona, Kabuki, MB, and El Mirador. We enjoyed all restaurants, and MB certainly lived up to its Michelin Star with both the food and service. We also enjoyed lunch at the Beach Club twice during our stay which was provided good food and service with outstanding sea views/atmosphere. The beach itself was very nice and quiet during our stay and also very convenient.

Great location, charming staff Mb restaurant very poor. Very cold weather exposed the fact that there is no way of heating the hotel so freezing all over hotel.

Me gusta todo,es la tercera vez que vamos en año y medio,he estado en otros hoteles cinco estrellas y el Abama marca la diferencia,esta vez estuvimos en una villa,nos sentimos muy bien atendidos tanto en playa,piscina de la Villa,como en ciudadela,el detalle de agua gratis,y fruta para mi ya es especial, llevábamos un bebe de cinco meses y el responsable de la piscina todos los días nos tenia preparadas las frutas variadas,eso también es especial,el que puedas disponer de un bugui también es especial .

Es sin duda alguna uno de los mejores hoteles en los que hemos estado. Comparable a hoteles como el Shangri-La de Abu Dhabi, el Pan Pacific de Vancouver o el Imperial de Nueva Delhi. El personal del Abama pone toda su pasión en conseguir la satisfacción del cliente, y vaya si lo consiguen. Las instalaciones de lujo y las habitaciones también (la nuestra era una doble superior con vistas al mar, situada en la calle 2). a destacar los restaurantes como el mb y el Kabuki. Sencillamente fantásticos. Una piscina (de las 8 que hay) y desayunos en el mirador solo para adultos. Genial. Fabuloso y absolutamente recomendable. Repetiremos sin duda. El business center es mejorable y la cantidad de jóvenes extranjeros en practicas que la cadena Ritz-Carlton pone a servicio del cliente en este hotel a veces hace difícil pedir cosas tan típicas para los españoles como un simple tinto de verano. Aun así la amabilidad del personal es un activo valiosisimo en el Abama.

Facilities (Pools, Breach, Tennis) and choice of restaurants were very good. Wirless internet did not work. Transport to and from the Tennis courts was poor and the phone at the tennis courts to call for pick up was not working. Transport to the Beach was poor.

Puedo resumirlo en una palabra: Excelente. Nos gusta pasar unos dias de vacaciones siempre que podemos en hoteles de esta categoria , y este simplemente los supera a todos: la arquitectura de todo el complejo, su localizacion, la habitacion, servicio, etc... no es nada ostentoso, es un lujo muy adaptado a los nuevos tiempos. Es el establecimiento que he visto que mas cuida todos los detalles, incluso los mas pequeños, logrando algo nada sencillo: hacer de lo practico y simple un lujo en si mismo, exquisito. Ni siendo muy exigente puedo quejarme de nada, creo que con eso lo digo todo. Excelente.
