The free wifi The gym is only open from 10am till 9pm as a business traveler these times are not acceptable. I booked this hotel because I wanted to use the gym before my business appointments. I complained to the reception but was told the gym is too noisy for other guests. A manager was suppose to call me to talk about it but no one did. There was only oner pillow and the mattress was very uncomfortable. Avoid if possible

Very bad Take this hotel out of yor list.Staff totally inefficient. At 10.00pm teenagers started to have party in the room above us .thet were slamming the doors and winfows, jumping runnıng ,pushing the chairs.it was impossible to sleep.we called the reception 3 times they were unable and may be unwilling to stop them. At 12.45pm midnight we had to change the room.At midnight we had to pack again.Hotelsroom are for sleeping not for having parties the staff is unaware of this.4star hotel is not for teenager groups. This is a backpackers hotel

Location, quiet room, large for european standards :) The rooms and other parts of the hotel need some "refreshing": paint, etc. the furniture in the bedroom (wardrobe) was looking old and had some damage. Hot water in shower would not keep same temperature, suddenly would get very very hot. This is dangerous and people can get burned if they don't react quickly to this situation.

We have stayed at the Abando on one previous occsaion for a similar reason i.e. a stop off following our boat trip from Portsmouth. We have our own house in southern Spain and the Abando location plus value for money is excellent. Its close proximity to all the city facilities means that we were able to enjoy some of the attractions of Bilbao as a bonus to our breking up our journey from the UK to southern Spain. The availability of onsite car parking is also a major benefit together with a superb choice and quality of breakfast makes the Abando an hotel with no faults and many positive attributes Nothing

It was very conveniently located for all we wanted to do on our brief stay. Staff were good, but a little "distant"/not as welcoming as other places we have stayed: they were uncomfortable about us only speaking English. The restaurant was not available (we understand it was off-season) but we did not get much help suggesting alternatives. There were no English- speaking channels in a range of 40 channels (except boring cnbc), which suggests a lack of thought/anticipation of guests' comfort; though this is a criticism of many Spanish hotels, except the ones very attuned in every aspect to guests.

Location is good, there are a lot of restaurants and shops close by, the staff is very helpful, breakfast is ok. Was too cold in the room, no heating. The bed is not very comfortable, pillows are terrible. Also this plastic cover on the bed was not very comfortable. Rooms have no insulation, you can hear even as people are talking in the next room, when somebody is taking shower or going to the toilet you can hear that in you room.

Hotel design is very nice and compliments the renovated Bilbao. It is located very close to the shopping area and underground tube stations, and only a 10 minute walk from the Bizabus for those who want to take the bus from the airport to into Bilbao. Wifi is free within the hotel and even the rooms for single travellers were large enough to accommodate a double bed if required. The bathroom and showers were new, well designed with soft lighting. The tv service could be improved giving access to bbc News 24. Also would be nice for one pc computer to be available (if there is I missed it) so business travellers who need to type that large email aren´t struggling on a iphone. It would be great if directions from the airport to the hotel could be communicated with the confirmation of booking. The Bizabus is great, only costs 1.35 euros and drops off near the Hotel Carlton. Iḿ only learning about Spanish culture for the first time and it looked as though the chef had made some great tapas which is left on the bar for customers. Within the hotel information booklet, it would be helpful if some information was printed telling customers that the food is available and what the custom is to access it. Although the staff are there, not all of them speak enough English to communicate what the food is and know enough to get bast the basics of most questions. The food looked great and I think the hotel would really benefit from promoting a little more about the customs in Spain including the times when the shops are open... on my day of arrival I though it was a national holiday as it was so quiet. Overall a very good hotel and I would stay there again

Location. I stayed in a single room, not spacious but equipped with the things expected to be there. Old town, Abaondo RENFE station and the Bizkaibus stop in the big roundabout are within 5 min walk. Uncoutable restaurants and bars are just next to the hotel.

The hotel is centrally located and everything is within an arms distance from here - The main shopping area, restaurants, the old town and the Guggenheim. The hotel staff was very helpful and courteous, unlike some of the reviews I had read prior to checking in. Almost everyone spoke English (which is a good thing since I do not know much Spanish) and they did everything possible to make my stay a pleasant one. The food menu at the hotel is limited so you are better off eating out at the many places within walking distance. I wouldn't say that the Hotel is a 4 star property, compared to 4 star hotels in New Delhi.

Quiet rooms - slept like a log. Staff just ok, but we rarely found engaging front desk staff anywhere in Spain. Breakfast is medium priced but very extensive. You don't really need lunch if you have the full deal. It's a problem with many hotels in Spain - the wifi is variable. At this hotel, like many others, a sofa near the lifts has the best reception. Room access is slow and drops out. Public areas are fine, but I'm not sure that the whole world wants to hear my love one affections via Skype!

Good location with off road parking facility. Would stay again. Restaurant is only open at lunchtime and not in the evening. As we were there on a Monday night, only food was available through the lounge bar. We did eat close by at a friendly restaurant.
