AC Hotel Alicante by Marriott  

This is my 2nd consecutive visit to the Hotel, and I continue to be very impressed in all areas of the hotels facilities, cleanliness and above all the friendliness of all the staff. Special mention to "Cleapatra" (can't remember her real name) on the front desk, and Ajo, the brilliant maid who looks after the 8th floor. both of these are a real credit to the Hotel. I would thoroughly recommend the AC Alicante to anyone who doesn't mind a 10 minute walk to the main beach (good excersise) the pool is great, the gym, steam room and spa are great, and of course the free mini-bar is a nice touch. I would also recommend the lovely "Cafe' Mari Carmen" (100 yds away) Alberto, Evan and the ladies are so friendly and helpful (best coffee in Alicante')

Excellent facilities considering price. Very organised interior and decoration. For 55 euros a 3 star hotel, best bargain

Close to rail station

The hotel staff were extremely helpful. Probably the most helpful we have had. I have stayed in hundreds of hotels. So I gave excellent for this. Also Alicante city is very good for service and especially price.

A very useful city stopover hotel. Convenient for transfers, rail, airport etc. Efficient service and facilities.

Excellent value for money. Very modern, comfortable & spotlessly clean rooms. Very friendly, helpful staff. Only 15 mins taxi ride from airport & a 15-20 minute walk from Promenade. Would highly recommend to anybody.

Hotel was very clean in a central location

We had a late checkout so stored our cases and went to the pool. Hotel told us we could use fitness showers before we left. After we had showered and washed our hair we realised there was no hairdrying facilities in the fitness changing area. One of us went to reception and was told there is no hairdryer there they do not have one. When we aked could we just dry our hair in a room we were told not possible. Staff were just not interested. Not good service.

We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel, from the service and friendliness of the staff and the quality of the room, to the central location and standard of the food and drinks, it was all good. I think one of the highlights of our stay though, was was the roof top pool. Brilliant. It meant we could enjoy being on a city break and still have some time relaxing in the sun. Great!

We had a great stay at the Marriott and can't really fault it. If I had to say one thing that I would change, it would be that it would be good to have coffee/tea making facility in the room. This is only a minor (and very British!) thing though and not a real complaint at all.

This is my second stay at the ac this year (first was May Bank Holiday Weekend). I chose it for its overall quality and price – good value compared to some similar standard which are closer into town but more expensive as a result. The rooftop pool is a great, quiet place to relax – a small pool so not really ideal for swimming, but great for a dip to cool down (note: no pool towels provided). The position of the hotel is fine – just a 15-20 minute walk into town along the front is very pleasant, and just 15-20 minute taxi ride from the airport (17 Euros) is really convenient. Checkout is 12, although you can keep your room until 3pm with no charge (any longer than that you have to pay half daily rate I believe). Hotel suitable for single travellers or couples – not families or groups.

Other hotels I've stayed at of similar/same standard and quality have provided free pool towels – just a minor niggle, and only 'negative' I can think of!
