Breakfast not available until 8am and then no staff available there, no milk, no juice and then they wanted to charge €18! Went to the Holiday Inn Express the following night in Malaga and it was excellent - breakfast from 0430 and staff could not have been more helpful.
- free upgrade to superior room, which was awesome - food at the restaurant was great, "medias raciones" with lots of food at 6-8€
This is a good, clean vanilla hotel in a location that is both convenient to reach by car and not too far from the city centre. The hotel itself covers all the basic needs of a traveller and is clean and quiet. At first glance there aren't many amenities around, but a careful search (on the internet and on foot) reveals quite a few small restaurants, bars cum coffee shops.
There is nowhere to stop a car in front of the hotel, you are supposed to know where the garage is and how to get in, which is not so obvious on arrival.
Everything was clean, the staff friendly, and sites and activities were accessible by bus or taxi
If you want to go on foot, the city centre is at least 20 minutes walking. I felt a bit misled about the distance when booking this. Also, part of the walk is dusty and not paved. In the summer months, the heat is brutal so we ended up taking taxis everywhere.
Suite Bed Breakfast Staff Location Pool
If you got up late some of the breakfast wasn't replenished.
Friendly and service minded staff
Clean. Nothing else to recommend it.
No in-room wifi, reqd. and extra surcharge to buy are paid card which was a rip off (both the absence of wifi as well as the card price). Turns out this is a Marriott tradition - that as well as most traditional bathroom toiletries.
Basic hotel Not much of Marriott standards
