The location is convenient , about 8 minutes walk to the Madrid Atocha Train Station, with local trains and metro connections. The breakfast spread is great. There is no kettle for boiling hot water in the room.

The staff is very helpful and friendly. It is in a great location. Easy access to bus and metro. The room is clean and comfortable. Safety deposit box is extra charge.

Walking distance to Atocha metro, Retiro Park, Proad and Sofia galleries and only 2 metro stops to Sol. Great location! Very clean and comfortable. Highly recommend. My daughter lives around the corner in student accomodation so the location was particularly conveinient for our needs. The room had been a smokers room previously.

It is an easy walk from the Atocha Train station. We took the bus from the airport to the tain station (2 euro each) and then were able to walk to the hotel in about 10 minutes. The breakfast was good, but pricey. Web site map for walking to the hotel from the train station could have been a bit more detailed.

The bed was big and comfortable. Close to the main bus station where you can get an airport bus for 2 euros, and near two metro stations. Good size tv although I can only watch the bbc news as I dont understand anything else. It didnt seem like a 4 star hotel to me, I have been in better 3 star hotels. There were a limited choice of food when we arrived there about 9.30pm, we ended up just having a salad because there wasnt a wide choice, and paid quite a lot for a salad for dinner. No tea and coffee making facilities. It wasnt very soundproof either, I was hearing the people next door blasting their tv late at night and we heard everything. A lot of door banging in the morning, as early as 5.30am. No mirror on the dressing table which I thought was quite standard.

Easy distance from main railway,metro and bus stop to airport. Area reasonably quiet. Hotel staff very pleasant. Rooms were decent size. Everything worked. Buffet breakfast was excellent. Walking distance to museums, galleries, botanic gardens and Retiro park. Bathrooms were a bit in need of redecoration. Restaurant had very limited menu and was expensive.

Excellent location for visiting the golden triangle of art galleries and the Retiro park and botanical gardens. Easy access to tube (and mainline station) for city restaurants, shopping and nightlife. Very easy to find by car coming into the city and safe underground parking at 20euros a night. (March 2012). Substantial buffet breakfast. Coffee not always fresh.

The location and it was functional without being luxurious. Breakfasts were very poor and the cooked food available was frequently cool if not cold. The staff were also a bit over-zealous in that if you turned your back on your table your breakfast was gone! Also, in the room, a mirror over the dressing table instead of a painting would have been helpful. Otherwise value for money.

Comfortable room. Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast with a large choice. Very close to Atocha railway station for onward travel right across Spain. Not much in the way of restaurants or facilities in the immediate area.

The central location, and proximity to the metro station. The room per night cost was reasonable , and the ambiance and the staff were good. regards Tom The smell of tobacco in the room, and the fact that i was not giving the option of a non smoking room at time of booking. This would not turn me off staying here again, but give me the option ! Regards Tom

The Agumar was very clean and quiet. The restaurant and breakfast staff were not very friendly bordering on rude. The gentleman on the door of the breakfast room was unfriendly and curt.

Staff were very helpful and polite, rooms were good, hotel was perfect for what we wanted would have preferred to be a bit nearer to the nightlife, but it was only a 6 euro taxi ride away.
