Alameda PalacePaseo de la Estacion, 1, 37004 Salamanca (Show map) Excellent, Score from 220 reviews“Standard of the rooms is very high. They are also clean and comfortable.”
Hans,
London
The modern and luxurious Alameda Palace is located just 330 yards from the center of Salamanca. It offers elegant, air-conditioned rooms with free internet access and satellite TV. Salamanca Train Station is about 550 yards away, while the Plaza Mayor is about a 10 minute walk away. The Alameda Palace’s spacious rooms all have marble bathrooms and antique-style furniture. Some of the rooms have great views of the city. There is a fitness center and a jacuzzi, and a free internet terminal in the lobby. The hotel’s Venecia Restaurant offers a blend of international and traditional Spanish dishes. It also offers an excellent wine cellar. Hotel Rooms: 103

Comfortable, safe, nice decor. Couldn't access wifi on iphone, placement of lights in bathroom makes it difficult to see in magnifier mirror (creates shadows.)

Luxury at affordable prices. Professional & efficient staff. Walking distance to old town and lots of unique shops on the way. Would've liked a view at front of hotel, as we did on first visit couple years ago. Did request one through Bookers.com, but didn't get one.

The hotel is lovely, lots of marble and gilt in a grand kind of way. The location is excellent - near the train station and near all the sights of Salamanca. The breakfast was very good and staff helpful. The hotel lacked atmosphere. The foyer is large, but there is no welcoming ambiance. The breakfast was excellent, but too much food was laid out for the number of guests. There must be a tremendous amount of waste, which we were not comfortable with in the current economic climate when some people have so little.

Standard of the rooms is very high. They are also clean and comfortable. During our stay there were large bus groups which made breakfast a bit of a scramble. The staff could be more helpful.

This hotel flattered to deceive. The reception was excellent as were first impressions but the hotel was in fact very dated and nowhere near it's 5 star rating. Illustrated by the rooms mis-match of furniture and the t/v which was an old crt type with probably the worst signal of any of the 8 hotels we stayed in during our holiday in North West Spain. It was also the worst of the 8 on value for money. Garaging the car was done by the staff - Thanks for the excellent service - but again the downside was the cost.

The size of the rooms. Breakfast was O.K., but the tables were not laid and we had to fetch cups, plates, cutlery, etc. ourselves. The waiters did not serve coffe/tea at the tables as they usually do at 5 star hotels. In general it felt more as a 4 star hotel than as a 5 star.

The room was clean and very well appointed and the hotel reception looked very nice. It was a typical souless city centre hotel - convenient for the sights, but not a memorable hotel.

The hotel has clearly been 5 star in its time but is a little out of step in todays world. The greeting we received from the concierge when we arrived at the hotel was excellent and this continued with assistance with our baggage trough to parking our 4x4 in the underground garage. Not a complaint merely an obsevation . there was no information available advising the guest on what facilities were avalable in the hotel either in the room or in the reception area , we might have tried a meal or room service if it had. The bar really needs updating as it not really a bar more a drinks cubby hole in the main reception area. That said the area in Salamanca centre is vibrant with bars and cafe's so perhaps thats why. Overall a nice one night stop between Portugal and Santander.

The Porter! He was brilliant in identifying our personal needs and parking our larger-than-average car in the Hotel's extremely tight underground car park. He was welcoming in every way. The quality of the Hotel and cleanliness was superb. The evening meal in the Hotel restaurant catered well because the attentive staff member was extremely careful to advise and guide on our speciality dietary needs. Breakfast was good, again catering suprisingly well for Gluten-Free visitors. The room, especially the bathroom, was grand in style, relatively quiet and very clean. The Hotel was difficult to find, despite SatNav guidance. Salamanca is a very busy city and the road networks are hectic and confusing. There was little to find immediately outside the Hotel with no brochures or guidance on Salamanca available in the room or foyer. The receptionist on arrival was abrupt, arrogant and uncooperative in every way, the complete opposite to the porter, waitresses and checking-out staff (even the cleaning staff). This was a shame and took the edge off an otherwise excellent group of staff working happily in a fine 4-star Hotel.

Very well appointed, luxury rooms The bed was two beds pushed together but made up seperately. Maybe that's common.

Alameda Palace is ideally located between the rail station and the Plaza Major. Ask for a room overlooking the city park and you will be rewarded. The staff was exceptionally helpful and professional. Our original booking was for one night only, but we returned a few days later for a three night stay. The computer provided to customers was difficult to use and did not have a printer (boarding passes).

i was particularly fond of its location. I thought the decoration was a bit old-fashioned.I think they should have natural instead of artificial flowers all over the hotel.

Beautiful hotel with friendly staff and perfect service. The check-in took very long, but the rest was perfect. Good central location very near to the centre. Good price for a 5-star hotel.

The staff was friendly, and helpful. We traveled to Salamanca to pick up our son from University there and I had mistaken the ending date. The staff quickly adjusted our reservation to put us into a very nice room that could sleep three the last night there.

The staff were pleasant and professional The hotel is not well situated for the okd town - there are much better located hotel. Its a good 15/20 minute walk on a very noisy main road into Plaza Mayor. Depsite the website saying it has satellite tv, it doesn'T. It has very old analogue TVs with only a small range of Spanish tv. The bar is simply part of the massive entrance hall so is totally souless and we saw hardly anyone using it. They can't supply an iron and ironing board, your only option is to put it into the hotel laundry just to have something ironed. I assume it was pretty expensive but can't be sure as there was no cost for ironing only on the price list althougth the bag said it was an option. The decor is totally over the top but so appalling its funny so if the rest of the hotel was ok it woudn't matter. Was ok value because we got a big discount on your site - as rack rate it would be very poor value

The beauty of the building, the proximity to the old town and our student daughter living in Salamanca. Exquisite furnishings in room, bath, hotel. The electronic keycards provided for entering the room stopped functioning after about 36 hours. We got new ones 1 or 2 times each during our 4 night stay. No big problem, but perhaps fixable?

“The hotel is a beautifully converted old monastery so has a wonderfully tranquil atmosphere, fantastic views of the old town of Salamanca and large, comfortable rooms. Its location is perfect for strolling round the old town where there are lots of lovely places to eat. There is a restaurant in the hotel which looked great but was closed for a private function so we didn't get the pleasure of eating there. ” Hazel, Sawbridgeworth |
