Good location, comfortable and homely rooms. Excellent and friendly staff.

Situated in an 'oasis' of trees in the centre of Irun, Hotel Alcazar has real character with traditional wood panelling and a comfortable lounge. Very friendly staff helped point us in the right direction for food etc.

6 euro taxi ride from the train station. The hotel is in what appears to be an old mansion. So expect older looking furnishings, etc. Clean and comfortable.

Breakfast is not included in price but I wasn't told until I checked out.

I only stopped for one night as I was passing through the city. The stay was excellent the receptionist when I arrived deserves a special mention she was extremely welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable. She recommended places to visit that night and they were exactly what I wanted. If I come to Irun again I will definitely stay here again.

Location - centre of Irun, perfect for shopping and relaxing break. Hotel is spotless; it shines at you as you walk in.

I would prefer a walk-in shower rather than a shower in a bath.

Location and price were good. Bathroom was a good size. Great recommendations for dinner/ tapas bars.

Room on the third floor was too hot, no air conditioning. Opening the windows allowed insects into the room, fly wire would have been ideal. Safe in the room would have been handy. Wifi on the third floor was slow/weak.

Room smelled cigarrete smoke, but every place we went in Spain we had this issue, so, I don't know if the hotel is to be blamed.

We liked the quiantness of the facilities, the lift was fantastically old fashioned and a real talking point, there was a lot of old fashioned furnishings and wood panneling. The hotel was in a good central position within easy walking distance of the main square, shops and restaurants.

There was a soft drinks bottle on the balcony with cigarette stubs in which should have been noticed and removed when the room was cleaned after the previous occupant. This did not give a good impression, but everything else seemed to be clean.

Service was good, location was good, very clean

I really enjoyed my stay at the Alcazar, my room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Decor of my room was lovely- wooden floors and matching furniture. I speak quite limited Spanish but staff were friendly and helpful and could speak English. Breakfast is good- continental style- and there is a computer in the lounge area for free internet usage. I was travelling by train and the hotel is only 10- 15 minutes walk from the stations in Irun. The hotel is a great base to travel from as you can get to San Sebastian within half an hour and Hendaye in France in only a few minutes.

Very nice older hotel with a lot of atmosphere. Very close to city center allowing easy shopping, etc.

This is a simple hotel, a little old-fashioned even, but it's comfortable, conveniently-located (about 20 minutes' walk from both Irún and Hendaye railway stations) and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were a little apprehensive about our late arrival (11.30pm) at the hotel but it was no problem: the receptionist was expecting us and checked us in quickly and without fuss. We had to leave to catch a train before breakfast the following morning but the staff prepared croissants and coffee for us before we left.

Close to Town Centreof Irun with plenty of restaurants and bars nearby and easy access to motorway

A quirky hotel.Very old fashioned and like from 30 years ago but did the job of a nights sleep.Would not stay for longer as it needs serious upgrading.

Upon entering the hotel one gets the feeling of an homely old style hotel. The reception staff is friendly .

The room is very dated and in need of renovation. Breakfast is very poor and not worth having.

Arrived late pm and not possible to get food nearby. Staff very friendly and room older but comfortable. Enjoyed a bath which is unusual in a Hotel today
