Location and staff

Everything was good

Our room was beautifully decorated; The interior of the hotel was spectacular; The location was great and access to the city center was made easy with the excellent bus service; The staff were really friendly and accommodating.

The metal chairs on the terrace were awful; much too heavy and cumbersome and made awful noise when moved. The Ladies restrooms on the ground floor were filthy, both Sunday and Monday morning. This was shocking considering the quality of the hotel.

Location

Wifi connection worked on rare occasions. Little useful tourist info available - ie shuttle bus ; Alhambra ; etc. had to ask @ a busy reception.

The service in the restaurant was non existent ,we returned to our bedroom at 3oc.afternoon and the room still had not been cleaned

The views from the hotel

One of the ladies behind reception seemed to have an attitude problem to us. Not sure if I was reading her wrong because of language differences?

Wow! Just kind of fell into this hotel online. Turns out built 1910 at the base of the Alhambra. Beautifully conserved "Grand Hotel" of the early 20th century. Fantastic terrace hanging over the city of Granada with a sweeping view of the city from the Sierra Nevada on the left to the olive groves to the north. Small room, well appointed and clean with a great tile bath and a balcony. Lovely dinner in the balcony dining room. About a 5 minute walk up to the Alhambra ticket booth (which is good if you have failed to pre-purchase tickets and need to show up at 07:30 to stand in line while your wife sleeps in.)

The wait staff had some trouble with the concept of drinking tap water - took about 3 trys to get them to bring us some. Otherwise, great place - paid 135 (spring 2013)Euros for the night (was this a special? seems like it should cost more)

The closeness to Allambra was excellent. Walking throughout the Forrest parklands. afternoon drinks on the balcony overlooking the Sierra Nevadas. Would recommend this hotel

Parking is limited

Fantastic view, great comfort, attentive staff, great restaurant and cafe/bar at the veranda overlooking the town. Good transportation to Alhambra and town.

A lovely treat to stay in this fantastic location at this iconic property. Food was excellent.

Loved this hotel, and it wasn't until I'd been to the Nasrid Palace did I really understand the decor. Moorish, light, clean and very atmospheric! The rooms were lovely, ours with a balcony. Fab views of the city, great for dipping down into town and the Alhambra. Don't believe all the maps - I thought things were quite close and good for walking rather than taking a taxi which, with the one way system seems a lot longer! It is not modern, but this gave it character.

Hotel was fine, safe, airy, Moorish. I really cannot find fault with it.

Lovely hotel - just like the actual Alhambra Palace! Copied architecture. Quite old and dated rooms especially bathrooms but spotlessly clean and grand in "another era" kind of way.

In general staff not incredibly friendly, especially at the main foyer desk. They suggested a restaurant to us which was nearby - this was awful and quite expensive so don't take their recommendation.

Terrific building and rooms; public areas and bedrooms. Enjoyed good food and wines, interesting scenery, all in relative peace and quiet. Easy to hop onto a small local bus for downtown shopping, bars and restaurants.

Restaurant annex (with great views), was of a brown plastic cheap conservatory style, with awful (brown plastic) ceiling tiles. Forgo the view and eat in the main room. No bath robe /slippers in the rooms. Otherwise everything was just fine. Very pleasant stay.

The location - the staff attitude was excellent,they spoke very good english so you can communicate with them easily.

No iron in the room-no coffee maker-the food in breakfast is not considering muslims who doesn't eat pork,they only considering non muslim in the variety of the food,we ate only egg but paid a lot of money.

This superb hotel is a wonderful breath of fresh air steeped in fascinating history – my regret is that we couldn’t stay longer… Stunning views across Granada from the vantage of the veranda bar, excellent food impeccably served, again enjoying the most spectacular night view from this mountainside position. Superb bedroom with balcony and awesome outlook. Thoroughly enjoyable stay and will revisit without hesitation.

Car parking...

Beautiful setting, striking views, amazing decoration and arabic style. Breakfast buffet is fabulous and worth the price. Bus stop and taxi station right at hotel entrance.

No kleenex in rooms or bathrooms.

I liked the location and the beautiful building.

The bathroom was a little poor with weak shower that turned cold after a couple of minutes.

Easy parking Superb views Very handy

Could you provide better details about finding the hotel - in simple terms you need to say 'find signs to the Alhambra and follow them - at the main entrance keep going don the hill' We had great difficulty until we saw these signs - then it was easy.

Breathtaking views,superb breakfasts, pleasant evening meals, excellent drinks choices and prices in the bar, reasonable prices across everything, 5 star service in a 4 star hotel, palatial building, spacious room, excellent location

hot water was a little slow to come on, bar food wasn't the best in the world
