Castilla AlicanteAvenida Países Escandinavos, 7, 03540 Alicante (Show map) Good, Score from 376 reviews“Staff were incredibly friendly. Hotel very clean and perfectly located for the beach. Bus and tram services to Alicante town outside hotel. If you want a really good sea view, ask for 8th floor. Rooms well sized and very clean. Food and drink in hotel very good quality. Would definitely stay here again.”

The Castilla Alicante is 1000 ft from ARENA Sports Club, where guests can enjoy the spa facilities for an extra fee. It is also just 1000 ft from Alicante Golf Club, which offers discounts to hotel guests. The hotel is 230 ft from the tram stop to Alicante, which is 5 miles away. The location was excellent, being only 50 mtrs from the beach and the bus stop & tram stops were next to the hotel making it very convenient to travel to the airport etc. Hotel staff too were very helpful at all times and the hotel was spotlessly clean. I would have been nice if there was a fridge in the room, or if one could rent one from reception.

This was our first time staying in Alicante, so we decided to go for a hotel with good reviews. After staying in this hotel myself I can now agree with the other reviews the hotel is so clean our room was cleaned daily, the swimming pool is a nice size it kept my 11 year old happy. And there was plenty of sun chairs available around the pool. The hotel is situated across a beautiful beach that stretches for miles. Playa san juan is a quite area meaning there is no night clubs or crazy night life but this is why we choose this area for a family holiday. My one advice would be if english is your only language bring along a little english/spanish book to help you as we found many of the restaurants had the menu's in spanish only and spoke little english.

Front desk staff was friendly. Clean and comfortable room. Close to beach and tram, bus stops. Many shops and cafes nearby. 24H7d food shop in 2 steps. Mercadona (supermarket) in approx. 1 kilometers. There was no hairdryer. Weak signal wi-fi in room.

Close to a huge sandy beach. Excellent staff. Large rooms with balcony although view is limited. Nice breakfast with good cold selection. Free WiFi works well, Sea view is very limited - you can only peep through narrow gaps in nearby apartment blocks. Located four miles from Alicante so you have to be willing to use local transport or hire a car.

I was plesantly surprised by this hotel. Its location was great - located on a quiet street on a little strip of shops just back from the beach. It was good to step outside the hotel and find bars, restaurants and the seaside so close by. There was ample parking around and it felt like a very safe area. The hotel wasn't luxurious, but the rooms were clean, well-maintained and large. My room had a balcony overlooking the pool and gardens. Breakfast wasn't flashy, but they did a good job. For the price paid, this was a good little hotel and I would go back again. Its not a luxurious hotel, but for a seaside holiday it was a good choice. When I was there it was out-of-season, so it wasn't very crowded, but I got the feeling that it would be overrun with package tours in summer.

The hotel and staff are all value for money. We were there for having some days of tranquility and we really got that. Excellent transport communications. The hotel is located in the Alicante province, not in the town. This town is named Playa San Juan and is located half an hour with buss from Alicante town. The internet connection did not worked.

Very nice hotel, clean and comfortable rooms. Excellent location with some sea view, with the beautiful beach was just 100 m away. Bus and Tram to the center right outside the hotel. Plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. Excellent service. Easy free parking. Very good value for money, Better than 3-star hotels in general. Some limited breakfast.

I found the hotel excellent. Room a good size and comfortable. Staff helpful & spoke English. Breakfasts excellent including scrambled egg & bacon. We had 2 dinners in the hotel and the food was fine. Our room was on the 8th floor (our request) and we had a side sea view from the balcony. Location great - near an excellent beach with promenade, lots of shops and restaurants nearby, quiet and felt safe, bus and tram to Alicante pass hotel entrance and costs €1.25 each way to town centre (20 mins). This isn't a buzzing town centre location, more residential but it suited us fine. Excellent restaurant Los Charros nearby for a special occasion. The only problem we found was that the restaurants in the vicinity open for dinner at 8.30pm - 9pm. This is normal for Spain but later than we wanted to eat. Many restaurants in Alicante are open at all hours so it is easy to eat before returning to the hotel. In fact we ate a couple of times in the hotel since they would serve the dinner menu in the bar from 8pm (the dining room opened at 8.30pm). Can't put bar / restaurant on the hotel tab but can pay by card.

The Location of Castilla Alicante is excellent, literally a stone's throw away from the beach. Great shops and restaurants in the area and good transport links to the city centre and other interesting locations. It would have been nice to have a mini fridge in the room and also tea/coffee making facilities. The inclusive breakfast lacked in choice, quality and quantity.

1. People who are working there! Greatest value of the hotel. Reception, restaurant, room service... All of them customer-oriented! 2. Location - San Juan Beach, Golf course, nice restaurants, shops. Great choice for quiet holidays. 3. Nice, clean rooms, always prepared for us. 4. One of the nicest hotels in the neighborhood. Only if I must write something: - double room... 2 joined beds. For a happy couple like us it would be ok, because we don't need a lot of space :) but they move at night leaving a hole between :) little unsafe ;) To be fair - we didn't try to change that room. - internet... Inconvinient acces with password in browser (like in every hotel) and low signal on 8th floor, actually internet works only on the balcony.

Staff was very friendy and helpful. It's 50 mtrs to beautiful sandy San Juan Beach. A lot of bars, restaurants and shops around hotel. In front of the hotel is bus stop and about 200 mtrs from hotel a Tram Station. By bus or buy train it's 25 to 30 minutes to city center. Overally easy access to city center. Quite large and clean rooms with balcony and view on the part of the sea. Next time I'll choose the same hotel. 1) Breakfast is only from 8 A.M. to 10.30 A.M. 2) Water in swimming pool is not heated so it's quite cold. 3) On Saturday was wedding party in the hotel. Was very loud and impossible to sleep. Wedding was finished at 1 A.M. Besides that I suggest you to see the wedding - a lot of hot girls and handsome guys ;)

The friendliness of the staff and always very helpful and spoke English. We were able to relax on the balcony with no rush of having to leave room for cleaner. The Bar food was very good on the two occasions we used it. Pool side area very clean and relaxing. Because of the time of year the surrounding areas were very quiet which was lovely. The pool water was freezing which was a shame.

Staff were very friendly. They didn't really understand the vegetarian thing. There were no options for vegetarians I.E. no meat of any kind or fish. For a meat eater, it was great though

Great location, nice beach to walk to.Also, easy access to town. Hotels normally have fridge/mini-bar and hair dryer. This hotel has neither. Also, being by the beach, and with a pool, you would think they had towels available for that, but no!
