I have back and neck problems so a good quality mattress and pillow is always a problem when I travel... But not at this hotel! Those were Perfect! No backpain, no headache! Loved the backyard! very quiet and peaceful. The location was terrific. Three minutes to Casa Mila, city tour bus stop, 20 minutes walk to Sagrada Familia to name but a few. As for shopping lovers this hotel's location just couldn't be better. A minute walking distance from Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Chanel... This is a district for high end shopping. Eating out was easy. So many nice cafes and restaurants with good quality and reasonable prices.

There were some problems with Wi Fi. Also could have installed a door in the bathroom (I am an early bird and my husband loves to sleep). But that was really not a big problem.

The staff is very attentive, and very helpful. The free mini bar idea is very nice!

No ipod dock in rooms

The staff are fantastic. The rooms large and well appointed. The location is superb. This is a first class hotel.

Front rooms are very noisy with street traffic. Avoid them at all costs.

The Alma Hotel is a perfect place to stay in Barcelona for the fist time. Because the location of the hotel is great, it is near two main streets Rambla and the shopping street Gracia. And you can reach by foot almost all the places of the interest. Plus there many cosy and fashionable bars, cafes and restaurants just near the hotel. The staff are very friendly are ready to help at any time. The restaurants and bars that they adviced to us were amazing. The breakfast was tasty and it is nice to eat outside on a nice and typical barcelona terrace. The room was clean, stylish and rather big. And the thing i liked that you don't need a key to enter your room, you do it with your fingerprints.

My partner and I loved the design the location and the very friendly staff.

Spa was under repair for our stay of 3 days so we could not use the gym,Hamam and pool.

I travel in Europe at least once a year. I have never ever been received with such friendly and polite professionalism. This is the most excellent staff I have ever encountered. They were energetic and their language proficiency was impressive. Well done Alma Barcelona. My low expectation of guest treatment borne out of my frequent and previous travels to Europe were unfounded! I did not interact with one staff member who seemed sullen, from the front desk to the cleaning staff. My wife decided to stay an extra night. We know were we will be staying when we are back in Barcelona.

The location was great, right in the centre of the main shopping area. The service was exceptional; possibly the best I have ever experienced. The design and facilities of the hospital was very cool but also comfortable

a small niggle but the breakfast was a bit pricey. I think this puts people off eating other meals in the hotel- I was pleasantly suprised when I had lunch and found it quite reasonable

Attentive service, spacious room and good central location.

The hotel was excellent except for the lighting in the room. The darkness of the decor and the low light level throughout. It was so dark in the room that we could not easily find things left in the suitcases. The hallways were not well lit and the elevators were also dark, somewhat uncomfortable when other unknown people were in the elevator with you.

The staff were really friendly and professional. Nothing was too much trouble. So important when you are in a city/country for the first time. The room we had was quiet as I had requested and from our window we could see the Gaudis chimneys!! The location was great for getting the hop on hop off buses and for expensive shopping. The Alma isn't in the centre of things but quietness can be the payoff for this.

This hotel was really really dark. We were constantly squinting to see. Great to save power bills but was way too dark. We found such darkness/dimness throughout the hotel odd. Even going to the lobby toilets was a challenge to find the walkways in the dark. We both experienced the furnishings and flooring as cold and sparse. No warmth or welcoming features. A bit like an Ikea showroom.

The concierge staff is excellent! The room is spacious, nicely decorated, quiet and very comfortable. Great location, easy walking distance to sites and shopping.

It would be nice to offer some simple foods such as sandwiches in the room service menu. Also, a few more English language channels would be appreciated. These are suggestions...there is nothing about the hotel that we didn't like. We will definitely return!

Friendly atmosphere

System for room cleaning rather haphazard - on Sunday we arrived back about 4.00 pm looking forward to putting our feet up and the room hadn't been done.

The reception desk staff was excellent! They were extremely helpful with booking tours and making fantastic restaurant recommendations! They couldnt have been nicer or more helpful. The room was more than ample in size and the location was superb. Easy walk to most Gaudi and shopping!

Upon a late night check in, there was no reason why my luggage shouldnt have been delivered immediately. Instead, I waited 15 minutes and called the front desk. Seems the porter forgot about my luggage! I was the only person to check in at that time. Also, the service in the lounge, restaurant was awful. It took 30 min to get a menu and I had to get up and get it myself! The waitress was then extremely rude! The Hotel is very dark! I realize its the "cool" factor but I think next time I would like to be less cool and experience a bright,cheery environment.

The staff were friendly and very very helpful. The design and decor of the hotel is exceptional.

We felt the buffet breakfast while pleasant and attractive seemed very overpriced, particularly if you arrived towards the end of it. So, you only do it once and then "hit the street" on subsequent mornings.

The staff were phenomenal, they couldn't be more helpful. The hotel is in a fantastic location and the room we stayed in was very stylish but very subtle. I will definitely be staying here again if on holiday without the kids!

The only criticism would be the lack of tea/coffee making facilities within the room and the cost of the breakfast. £25 each is very over priced and we opted to visit the local cafe's instead.

The situation, staff and level of comfort were outstanding. Very quiet, but in a very good city location; near the best tourist sites and shopping facilities. Excellent value for money

This place is very cool. The decor is so laid back. The rooms are spacious and minimalist. The hotel rooms have fingerprint recognition. The service was top notch. There's a nice roof terrace as well. The rooms were quiet. Definitely a designer hotel!

There wasn't much not to like!
